Over the past few decades, terrorist activities have become a major issue for the society. By defining terrorism, it can be assessed that the particular process is conducted for achieving an ideological aim or the political religious. According to Matusitz (2013, p.65), terrorism has become a major threat to the society. Besides this, the unlawful utilization of force against persons, property or the government defines the term “Terrorism” in an effective manner. The terrorism has changed the nature of time in changing the world due to the globalization. On the other hand, the Neoliberalism indicates a theory of political, economic observance that discusses that the human can be advanced by liberating individual skills within an institutional framework.

In this context, the globalization and neoliberalism have been discussed in context to the terrorist and terrorism. A different point of views of authors on the terrorism has been sketched into the particular assignment.

According to Moghadam (2012, p.125), terrorism is an unlawful act of brutality in order to achieve something. The aim of the terrorism is to achieve the religious and political or ideological objectives. In today’s world, the trend in violence has been increasing both domestically and internationally in the form of terrorism.  Globalization is not a trend rather it is an international system taking the place of Cold War system. Moreover, the globalization consists of its laws and logic, which indeed influences direct or indirectly different aspects of society including political, environment, geopolitics, and the economy of the country. Aside from this, the globalization has included the enhanced technology that has been changing the global trends in an effective manner. The involvement of the terrorism and terrorists indeed creates difficulties for the growth of the globalization. After entering into the process of globalization, the country begins to internalize the potential of the amalgamation and endeavor to fit into a global context. Besides this, the terrorism put explosive forces into the society to achieve their individual goals or objectives in an efficient manner. Lizardo (2015, p.149) has discussed that the impacts of terrorism on the globalization is gigantic. The attack of terrorists on a country could hamper different perspective of the society. For example, the terrorist’s activity slows down the speed of commerce, travel, and communication. Consequently, it indeed affects the development of the society. Due to the globalization, terrorism has distorted the nature of time in this world. If we analysis the previous data, it can be assessed that the terrorism has been increasing across the globe in a gigantic manner. For instances, between 1968 to 1989, the incident of terrorism was calculated approximately 1.679% per year. However, this incident was astonishingly increased to 162% during 1990-1996. The percentage of the terrorist activity has been growing in an enormous manner over the past few years. Consequently, it increases the alarming growth of the global conflicts. Moreover, the new acts of terrorism suggest the forces of achieving the particular goals and objectives. On the other hand, Rozanov (2012, p. 281) has identified that the globalization indeed persuades religious fundamentalism. Previously, there was no individual religious terrorist’s movement across the globe. Hence, it can be assessed the formation of terrorism has been increasing on a large geographic arena. According to Lizardo (2015, p.175), the enhancement of the terrorist’s activity not only creates challenges for the local government but also makes difficulties to the societal people for living in a stable environment. The world is moving hurriedly for realizing the design of a global village as commonalities in context to economic aspirations. On the political front, the terrorism has been creating a strapping force against the local government. However, in the recent years, the efforts of preventing the terrorism has been enhancing in an efficient manner. On the contrary, this particular process indeed slows down the flow of capital. Moghadam (2012, p.159) has discussed that the government has been increasing the international cooperation for monitoring the flow of information of terrorist groups. However, most of the governments have agreed with the fact that the prevention policy for the terrorists needs a high amount of both financial and physical resources. Without investing adequate financial resources, the government would not be able to obtain the triumph against terrorists. Besides this, there are several protocols for fighting the terrorism and terrorist groups. However, it completely depends on the legislations of different countries across the globe. Hence, it can be assessed that the global terrorism has been creating challenges for several nations in upholding the stable environment. It becomes the biggest challenging situation for the globalization. Lizardo (2015, p.180) have identified the fact that the global terrorism largely depends on the triumph of globalization. Due to the globalization, different technological advancements have been experienced by several nations. Consequently, the terrorist’s groups utilize the advancement of the technology for achieving success in an efficient manner. In fact, it can be argued that the global terrorism can be considered as a facet of the global culture resulting from the globalization. For obtaining the success over global terrorism, the national security must resurrect their force so that they could easily identify the movement of the terrorist’s group activities.

Globalization and Terrorism

Besides the globalization, neoliberalism also has huge impacts on the terrorism and terrorist activities. According to Giroux (2015, p.50), neoliberalism has become the influential ideology of the recent times. Most of the time, the neoliberalism has been facilitating in guiding both democratic and republican policies. The particular process is increasingly popular in European and developing countries. Heath-Kelly, Baker-Beall and Jarvis (2015, p.10) have identified that the impact of the neoliberalism lies within the language of democracy, education, and race. On the other hand, neoliberalism includes the extensive economic liberalization policies including fiscal, privatization, austerity, free commerce, deregulations and the reduction in the government spending. In the recent years, most of the countries have been focusing on the economic policy in order to counter the terrorism in an efficient manner. Over the past few years, several types of research have been conducted in context to the connection between terrorism and neoliberalism. By intersecting the neoliberalism and terror, different factors can be identified that indeed facilitates in preventing this unlawful force in an efficient manner. According to McClennen (2012, p.178), neoliberalism has facilitated in transforming the process where states provide internal and external security through the militarization of security spaces. Hence, it can be assessed that the national security policy needs to be developed in order to diminish the terror activities in an efficient manner. According to the National Planning Scenarios document, terrorist attacks lies among the 15 potential emergencies. In UK and the US, the national security planning indeed facilitates these countries in reducing the potential disasters of the futures for making the citizens aware of the unrelenting judgment of the hazard.

For diminishing the terrorist activities from the root, different countries need to focus on developing counter-terrorism policy. Di Leo et al. (2015, p.200) have discussed that the counter-terrorism is an exercise of neoliberalism. Moreover, it indicates a form of “class war on terror.” By discussing the political history of UK, the US and the European Union and Latin America, it can be assessed that the neoliberalism has been facilitating in countering the terrorism in an efficient manner. On the other hand, there are huge effects of neoliberal ideology and economics on the counter-terrorism policy. However, there are several issues around the counter-terrorism including the emergence of new professional security culture. Neoliberalism and terror belong to the international relations, terrorism studies, and security studies. Although the neoliberalism and terrorism have been researched previously, several factors of neoliberalism are also needed to be evaluated. Due to the enhancement of the terror activities, most of the countries need to focus on developing the neoliberalism policy in an efficient manner. Lizardo (2015, p.165) has explored the role of the counter-terrorism responses for enabling the redesign of assortment and capitalism. Finally, it can be evaluated that the neoliberalism plays an integral role in enhancing the counterterrorism activities, which indeed facilitates in diminishing the domestic violence.

Consequently, it facilitates the terrorist groups in developing their planning in an efficient manner for the accomplishment of their desired goals and objectives. Aside from this, the particular assignment also highlights the impact of neoliberalism on the terrorism. Due to the neoliberalism, countries obtain the facilitation for developing the national security schemes in order to diminish the unlawful attacks of terrorists. Hence, it can be assessed that the neoliberalism is an integral process for developing counter-terrorism force in an efficient manner.
