Regional tourism has higher level of contribution in the global tourism industry. Due to the increasing opportunities in the tourism industry, the Australia tourism industry has started expanding (Dredge and Jamal 2015). It cannot be denied that with the increasing opportunities in the tourism industry, challenges related to its growth have also increased. As a regional
head of a tourism agency called Travel Forever in cross border region in Australia, it is my responsibility to provide secure and healthy accommodation to the visitors. As it is an international organization, therefore, all the local and foreign visitors’ safety and security is my responsibility. The accessibility as well as connectivity is important in case of developing a tourism industry. It cannot be denied that the tourism behavior is important in the case of developing the tourism industry. On the other hand, it is true that Australia’s green cauldron is being considered as the important tourism destination in Australia (Lundberg 2017). It has been identified that political and economic situation of the country has higher level of impact on tourism industry. It has been identified that in case of cross border areas, the distance and accessibility have brought the major challenges. Due to the socio economical and ecological divers in the tourism industry, it has become harder to implement the tourism development related planning in such areas. Therefore, it can be said that implementing the large scale of collaborative destination management panning has become the major concern for the regional tourism authority in Australia. The purpose of the study is to highlight the issues; those are creating challenges for developing effective tourism framework in the cross border areas. In this study, different tourism planning has been suggested so that the challenges can be solved. The goal of this paper is to introduce effective strategies so that the visitation in cross border areas can be properly managed.
According to Strickland-Munro et al. (2016), in the current scenario, with the increase of the customers, the increasing demands of the visitors, cross-border areas have become popular tourist attraction for the international tourists. By supporting this Lew (2014) stated that with the increasing economic opportunities and increasing interest of the tourists towards political boundaries, the tourism industry has started developing in the cross-border areas. It cannot be denied that after the Brexit vote incident the availability of UK tourists has been changed (Vila, Darcy and González 2015). Due to the changes in GDP rate, the global growth of tourism industry is being affected. Considering the Australian largest tourism industry, it can be said that the in between the year 2014 to 2015, near about $47.5 billion has been contributed in the Australian GDP by the tourism industry (Wan and Bramwell 2015). It is true that in the year 2016, the total visitor expenditure in Australia was $116.7 billion. Therefore, it can be said that, after the Brexit incident, the availability of UK tourists can be hampered. In the words of Higgins-Desbiolles (2018), although the cross border areas are facing different types of challenges, but it cannot be denied that in order to eliminate redundancies and process of clearance at land border crossings areas, the joint border initiatives are important. The biggest opportunity in the regional tourism management practice is it helps to introduce smoother supply chain process. It cannot be denied that with the effective tourism management planning in the Cross border areas, the trade opportunities can increase (Rogerson 2018). On the other hand, in case of Cross border areas, the connectivity has brought the major issues for developing the tourism business. In this case, the role of local government is very important. Not only the contribution of a particular government, but also contribution of both the countries in the border areas is important. In case of Australian, cross-border tourism industry, lack of research in the local area has created the challenges for implementing the development of tourism framework has become the major issue. It cannot be denied that the role of local government in Australia’s Green Cauldron National Landscape is very important in the decision making process (Nunkoo 2015). In case of the cross area tourism, different political policies and regulations in border areas of different countries create the challenge for developing effective planning. It cannot be denied that political relation of both countries has higher level of impact on the developing a healthy tourism business (Rogerson 2015). In some of the cases the local people create the biggest barrier for the tourists. It has been identified that due to dissatisfaction from the local government, the local people attempt different attacks on the visitors. Therefore, in this case it can be said that the behavioral situation of the local people in those areas are very important for implementing the development planning. In such cases the maintaining safety of the visitors is the biggest challenge for cross border tourism authority.
Green cauldron is being considered as one of the popular natural landscape in Australia. The area was developed with the joint initiatives of the parks Australia and tourism Australia. This region is being considered as the 12 national parks (Tolkach, King and Whitelaw 2016). The area includes the Springbrook National Parks and Lamington to the north, Border Ranges National Park in the west, in the center the beauty of Wollumbin national Park (Australiasgreencauldron.com.au 2018). Not only the beauty of national parks but also the area is carrying the heritage of Gondwana rainforest. The major geographic focus of this area is the extinct shield volcano, which is the largest volcano in the southern hemisphere. Hence, it can be said that the natural beauty is the major geographic focus in this Green cauldron.
In this study, it has been identified that with the increasing influences in the tourism industry, the availability of tourists has increased. In the global context, it can be said that with increasing opportunities the availability of international tourists has increased.

In the above diagram, it has been identified that in case of bringing the development in Australian tourism industry, the contribution of UK visitors is higher than other countries. In this diagram, it has been understood that the Brexit vote, the availability of the visitors can be reduced. It has been identified that in every year, near about 30000 visitors come to visit this area. Among the entire visitors the ration of international visitors is higher than the local visitors.
In case of tourism industry in cross border areas, it can be said that political, technological, economic, institutional situations are the major key drivers in the case of developing the tourism industry. Depending on the political situation, the tourism policies are being varied. The cross border tourism collaboration is another important key driver behind the growth of cross border tourism development. It is true that after the globalization, the increasing economic opportunity, the growth has been introduced the regional tourism sector in Australia. In between the year 2014-2015, $47.5 billion has been contributed in the Australian GDP (Ttf.org.au 2018). Although the growth rate is increasing, however, it can be said that due to lack of monitoring, the people who are associated with the industry are still living in the same economic condition. On the other hand, lack of social maintenance and lack of awareness among the visitors, the beauty in the tourist places is being affected. In order to develop an effective tourism business, collaboration with local people is important. It cannot be denied that due to the large portion of greenery in the particular tourist place, it has become one of the popular destinations in Australia. However, lack of proper relationship with the local people and cultural differences, local people has become aggressive. In case of the Green cauldron landscape, it is surrounded with the national parks. In this situation the joint initiatives of park and tourism authorities are the important key driver. It has been identified that in some of the cases the policies regarding natural resource conservation can differ depending on the geographic location. In case of border areas, the influence of both the policy developers is important. Due to such dissimilarities, the development plan cannot be properly implemented (Sharma, Chen and Luk 2018). As an example, it can be said that in the cross border area of Oresund region, influence of local government policies have been highlighted as the important key drivers in tourism industry. In the above discussion, it can be said that for dealing with the external and internal challenges in the tourism industry, a proper tourism planning is required. By introducing the new policy in cross border region, the emerging challenges in tourism sector can be solved.
Planning is essential in terms of providing the good quality of environment for both the residents and tourists. In the planning process of tourism development, introducing the effective policies and decisions regarding the particular situation, the situation can be controlled (Chatfield, Reddick and Brajawidagda 2015). In the case of Green cauldron landscape, it has been identified that that due to lack of proper implementation of tourism planning, the cross border area development is being hampered. On the other hand, with the increasing availability of the tourists, it has become important for the regional planning authority to develop an effective plan so that the beauty of this area can be maintained. In the current business scenario, it has been identified that the different political policies in the border areas have brought the challenges for tourism development panning. Therefore, it can be said that the in order to introduce stable situation, the proper tourism planning is required.
The study has repeatedly mentioned about the importance of government, in order to develop the tourism business. It cannot be denied that the government contribution is required in terms of developing the departmental structure (Präg and Mills 2017). For implementation the national tourism policies in proper manner the role governmental contribution is important. In the 21st century, the government has also started in introducing the promotional activities in the industry. In case of cross border area tourism, the study has repeatedly discussed about the importance political relationship between the border areas. Therefore, in order to improve the relationship between both the border areas, the government initiatives, rules, taxation policies and accessibility initiatives are important. On the other hand, depending on the business opportunities, the tourism planning is being influenced. It can be said that tourism industry can bring the large scale of business opportunities for the local people (Cohen and Cohen 2018). Therefore, in order to deal with the emerging tourism issues in the regional areas, the local business opportunities can be increased. Depending on the tourism development hotel industry can also be developed. A hotel industry can bring the construction opportunities for the country.
In every industry of business, the role of stakeholders is influential on terms of driving the growth rate. The objectives as well as the policies are being developed for improving both the financial and social status of the stakeholders. In case of tourism industry, the national government, local government, different tourism enterprises, institutions, which play the role of investors in tourism projects, the visitors and the local people are the stakeholders for this tourism industry (Roque and Raposo 2016).
Tourism has become one of the popular attractions for the current generation. In the 21st century, the availability of visitors in every tourism industry has increased. However, it cannot be denied that, UK people have higher level of contribution in the global tourism industry. In a recent survey, it has been identified that among the international visitors, availability of UK visitors are higher in Australian tourism destinations. In the enraging tourism sector, the growth trend has brought various opportunities ad challenges for the industry. In case of regional tourism planning, the cross border area is being considered as one of the popular politically burning areas in the global context (Tolkach, King and Whitelaw 2016). Especially in case of cross border areas, tourist attack has become biggest threat. Although it is true that Australia is a politically peaceful country, but after the year 2004, the transnational terrorism has become the biggest threat for the Australian government. On the other hand, by following the changing tourism trends, it can be said that Chinese tourists have started dominating the global tourism industry. Due to this reason, it can be said that the political status of Australian in the global context can be changed. It is true that in case of cross border areas, unstable political situation as well as the dissimilarities regarding the tourism policies the social security of the tourists is in the questionable position.
As the safety of the visitors in the cross border areas is in the questionable position, therefore, in this situation, the agency needs to focus on appointing large number of employees, so that the monitoring process can be maintaining. As the political issue cannot be controlled by the travel agency, in this situation, the areas which are socially safe for the visitors should be introduced (Ágústsdóttir et al. 2014). Communication and development process is required in terms of developing the healthy relationship with social community. By developing strong relationship with the local community, the agency will be able to improve the economic situation of the local people. With the increasing job opportunities, socio cultural status can be improved. Depending on the current trend of thee tourism industry, it has been identified that the tourism industry has higher level of contribution in the global economy. On the other hand, in the of Australia, the cross border areas, where the political dissimilarities has become the major concern, in those places the government initiatives can help to develop the healthy relationship between two areas. In the Green cauldron landscape, where both the park and tourism authorities have higher level of contribution, in such cases with the government initiatives the connectivity as well as accessibility issues can be solved. With the increasing accessibility, availability of the customers can be increased, which can influence the economic status of this country. On the other hand, with the tourism development business opportunities in those areas can be increased. In the increasing business opportunities the financial status of the local people will be improved and investors will be attracted towards this industry.
Hence, it can be said that in case of Green cauldron landscape the tourism planning is required. It can help to develop political relationship between the order areas. On the other hand, with the increasing accessibility, the net profit can be increased. Supply chain process can be influenced by introducing the effective accessibility and connectivity process. It is true that by developing the effective tourism planning, the risk management can be done in proper manner so that the risks regarding the visitors’ security can be reduced.
Self assessment can be considered as the major instrument in case of developing the community tourism planning. However, in case of technology, it can be said that using the Compass, Theodolite, Dumpy level instrument can be beneficial for the tourism planning. On the other hand, a big screen is required in which the entire planning can be clarified to re local community (Ágústsdóttir et al. 2014). This can also be beneficial in terms of increasing the awareness among people so that they can contribute in natural resource conservation process. On the other hand, it cannot be denied that develop an effective tourism planning, relationship with the visitors needs to be improved so that the information related to the area can be reached to them. On the other hand, guidebook needs to be published so that the interested visitors can be able to get the information regarding the tourist spots. Implementation of an effective communication process with local community is required. In this case, the voice translation tool can play an effective role. It cannot be denied that government initiatives and proper monitoring is required in case of implementation the tourism plan. In this case, Australian consumer law, Competition and customer Act 2010, tourism Australia act 2004 needed to be followed properly (Tolkach, King and Whitelaw 2016). On the other hand, licensing process for getting the permission for tourism business is needed to be taken by all the business organizations, so that the proper financial record can be maintained. In case of resources, it can be said that financial resources, cultural and ethno cultural resources are needed for the tourism planning. The biggest advantage of the policies are, here the social security of the visitors can be maintained. On the other hand, by following the business licensing process, none of the business organizations can be able to enter in the industry unethically. However, it is true that, the governmental rules and regulations may create challenges for the business organizations to develop its business. Due to the taxation policies and others regulations for the international visitors, the availability rate can be influenced (Tolkach, King and Whitelaw 2016). Although there are both the advantage and disadvantages of policy plan, but I can be said that the policy can help in terms of bringing the discipline in the tourism industry. By maintaining the fair regulation, sustainability can be maintained. With the increasing business opportunities both the areas can be benefited.
In order to implement the tourism development process the people awareness regarding the importance of tourism development is required. On the Other hand, the responsibility of local people regarding the maintenance of natural resources can bring opportunities for the implementing the tourism planning project in proper manner. In order to increase public awareness direct and indirect campaigning is required. By appointing large number of financial experts as well as risk management experts, the planning can be strengthening (Tolkach, King and Whitelaw 2016). With the increasing public awareness, people will be able to understand their opportunities from the tourism industry, which can encourage them towards the development plan. Tourism educational school is also required, where the significance of the tourism planning and the particular destination can be discussed with the people. In this process, the overall planning can be developed by contributing in the community. With the increasing financial stability of the local community the plan can be measured. It can be said that of the government policies can be followed in the industry in proper manner, it can help to implement the tourism plan in appropriate manner.
