The company NewAge Pty Ltd whose employees develop a software for the operating systems but fail to provide a bug free software to other company. The Employee Mr. McBright, who develops software for operating systems and test their functionality prior to releasing of the software. The company XYZ Pty Ltd is a manufacturer of tablet computer and had contracted with the company of NewAge Pty Ltd to get a software to be develop for them with a cost of around A$2 million. Badluck Bank contains the records of the customer but unfortunately with the installation of the operating system that was acquired from NewAge Pty Ltd Company every records got destroyed because it created a virus called McDonalBug. TastyBurgers Pty Ltd had owned an office complex in which the XYZ Pty Ltd company releases its second set manufactured tablets were the tablet burst into frames and has burn the complex.
The Interpretation of Ethical dilemma had become important in the case that has been studied for NewAge Pty Ltd and XYZ Pty Ltd. Mr. McBright had discovered some bugs during the release of the operating system before delivering it to the XYZ Pty Ltd Company but however the employees of NewAge Pty Ltd Company was told by Mrs McDonald to hide the secret and they let the operating system launch with the bug (Sebhatu & Pei-lin, 2016). Later this lead to a virus called MCDonalBug which results in damage of the records of the Badluck Bank customer that contain in the tablet. Another set release after four month where the same operating system was install (Sortedahl, Mottern & Campagna, 2018). While at the time of release the tablet burst and burn into flames in the office complex that was owned by TastyBurgers Pty Ltd.
If considered the Ethical philosophies or approaches and models, it was not right at all that Mr. McBright has done with the company of XYZ Pty Ltd. She never showed any interest in sponsoring or training the subordinates for their career development (Han, 2015).
The professional of ICT unlike other professionals of different disciplines do not need to abide with the professional structure society. The ACS Code of Ethics is formulated by Australian in the case study (Diochon & Nizet, 2015). The employee Mr. McBright was not supposed to deliver a bug free operating system and it was not legal that Mrs McDonald have to hide the issue that was discovered which could not lead to both the company get sued and proceed to adjoin with further legal processes (Anderson, & Anderson, 2015).
For the engineers, decision-making can haunt the humanity in the physical-world. With ethical course the employee could begrudge the anomaly in the pedagogy of computer science (Schwartz, 2016). Programmers make a decision through ethical ramifications which takes more of the life of software developer.
The practical ethics has identified that with the release of a computer tablet using the buggy operating system had led to damage of the customer records in the first release and the burst the office complex in the second release. The approach was so casual by the NewAge Pty Ltd that with cognitive approach the BadLuck and TastyBurgers Pty Ltd had sued XYZ Pty Ltd for whatever damage they have caused. And by this NewAge Pty Ltd was also got sued up by XYZ Pty Ltd. Since NewAge Pty Ltd company is major employer for the LivingCity the council and the mayor had interfered in the legal proceeding.
Conclusion
Thus it could be concluded that the company NewAge Pty Ltd, Mr. McBright develops an operating systems for the manufacturer of tablet computer with the company XYZ Pty Ltd. But still Mrs McDonald who was managing the NewAge Pty Ltd could never develop herself from current position to getting into higher position. For further development of the career Mrs McDonald has put the criteria important in hiring new employees from her own college itself. Never employee other than the alma mater which result in lack of current practices in the development of the software (Bazerman & Sezer, 2016). Even when discovered that there was a bug found in the operating system during the release of the software, he was insisted to hide the secret and not to reveal it which lead to suing up the company and file legal cases.
A Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) framework is a professional guide for the employers and aspiring professionals in the ICT. The skills of the applicant can get matched for the job by the employers and need the business vacancy to be filled. The organization of United Kingdom headquarter is a global not-for-profit organization for SFIA Foundation who develop and manage the SFIA. The level of SFIA has increase to 1 more level which was release on 1st July 2015. The responsibility level for each number of skills is easily understood.
The standard of IT skills provide a IT professional skills reference model and allow the student to measure their skills that are needed to them and accordingly identify the gaps of the skill (von Konsky, Miller & Jones, 2016). They student need to regularly review and stay update with the current industry that reflect the current needs. Most of the skills has to be updated in some or the other way; were some skill has merged or might have introduce new skills or might have improved the words. There are other areas of development would be in the information and communication technology. This network are continuously available for the SFIA framework.
It has some standard level of responsibilities for justification of the skills that are used in the framework (Shrestha, Kong & Collins, 2017). The structure of the framework ensures the definitions of the professional skills. The use of this skills make it suitable for use of generic definitions. The organization has core competencies set in combination with the professional skills of SFIA (Hamilton et al., 2015). The framework provide a level of sensible spacing through which the organization could benefit.
The exiting levels for the professional skills of SFIA 6 could establish the basis of mapping (Thornley et al., 2017). It has seven level. The gaps in the skills need to be addressed at the early stages during the journey of the education phase. The current set of skills will enhance the group-work skills, communication skills, information skills, and use of IT, problem solving and more (Shankararaman & Gottipati, 2016).
