In order to make sure that children grow up to become good human beings, it is important for the parents to inculcate positive behavior among them. The parents must be alert, consistent and follow certain other measures to bring happiness in the life of their kids. Environment plays a role in distinguishing the human behavior from that of animals. In the same way, the environment of the parents is what the children will learn from. The parents become the role model for the children (Ball and Lasker 2013). They innocently look up to their parents and follow them as shadow. Therefore it becomes the responsibility of the parents to inculcate good things among their children. They need to listen to their children without interrupting and judging. This will make the child realize that he is also an important part. The adults should not complicate the child’s mind but keep up their words. This helps the child to learn the value of commitment and discipline and also become trustworthy. The parents must be careful about the things and equipments that are kept in the reach of children because kids do not understand the difference. It is a mistake on the part of the parents to mark their child as misbehaving or stupid because this is what they are going to reflect in their future life (Abbasovich and Fikratovich 2015).
The effectiveness of behavior management strategies vary from one profession to another. It is an important skill to be fair and consistent as well as creating a balance between the rights and responsibilities. Mostly teachers are not at all in surprise to learn that success in behavior management is critical to both the success of student as well as to their understanding. Behavior management specifically talks about the significance of rules and routines, appropriateness of consequences and the need for a higher authority to handle the situation. All the given strategies help in lessening the amount of misbehavior but there are other strategies too which have a better impact (Beaven 2015). The other strategies include a strong bond between the student and the teacher. Sharing a positive relationship with the students allow the teacher to understand their behavior in a better way. The students become aware of their behavior when they know that the teachers are observing them all the time. It is important for the teacher to clear the lesson goal before teaching so that the most of the behavior can be dealt with at an infant stage. The students need explanation of the rules held for them so that they understand that it is fair and negotiable (Bono et al. 2013).
All the adults belong to several social groups which consist of one culture. The identity of an adult is determined by the way he communicates. Communication is considered as a source of cultural change and people who live in a dominant culture are parts of various social groups. Most of the societies are said to have a prevailing typical way of leading the life (Brookhart 2017).
For establishing positive relationship it is required to demonstrate the effective communication skills in dealing with the adults. Parents and other adults who come to the school for their children get more beneficial support due to strong and effective communication which becomes beneficial for the kids too. The theory of establishing relationship with children and adults in any respect depends on the comfort level which is a result of effective communication (Cahn 2013).
The communication in any form is adapted in the appropriate language. It is important to know the differences in communication when interacting with specific people. It is an important decision to make eye contact, use verbal and non- verbal communication and smile to encourage interaction. It is not a wise decision to interrupt or laugh at what the opponent is saying. The effective skills that have been honed in life can be utilized in distinguishing communication (Chambers and De Dreu 2014).
To promote trust and understanding the strategies involved are- active and patient listening, avoiding assumptions, asking questions for clarification and rechecking of comprehending and finally summarizing and confirming the main points. It is highly appreciated when a person makes an effort to listen and understand what the other person is saying. It creates an image of tenderness and care about the other person. It shows a compassionate nature when the person not only listens but also react properly which reflects his understanding and interest in the interaction. Expressing gratitude, empathy and humor also form the part of building trust and understanding. It lets the other person feel that he is understood and cared for (Cook, Klein and Chen 2015). Sharing certain courtesy and gratitude like ‘thank you’ and other such kind words creates a good impression. Even if the other person is only doing his assigned work, still it is a good idea to thank him as a sign of appreciation. Expressing humor forms another basis of establishing trust and understanding. This creates an impression that the person is welcoming and relaxed. This increases the liking and trust and the opponent feel comfortable and open up in the process of communication.
Conflict and misunderstanding is a part of life which can arise anytime in family or in the workplace. It is essential to resolve the conflicts in a delicate way so that it does not become stressful. The stepping stone in solving conflicts is to decide the strategies required for addressing the concern. Then it is necessary to find out the main source of conflict otherwise it is not possible to resolve. All the three types of conflict, personal conflict, instrumental conflict and conflicts of interest are an integral part of communication. Personal conflict refers to betrayal, disloyalty or violating confidence (Crone, Hawken and Horner 2015). Instrumental conflict refers to the structure and procedure within the organization. Conflicts of interest are concerned about the means of achieving goals such as time, money, space and staff. It is essential to kill the conflict at a budding stage even before it starts growing. This can be done by means of negotiation between the participants involved in the conflict. There are other strategies to deal with misunderstanding such as compete, collaborate, compromise, avoid and smoothing the issue. These five strategies can be represented pictorially to show the concern for self and others.
For further sources of information other adults can be referred by making the information on society and community centers. Fliers, leaflets and pamphlets can be distributed from door to door to attract public attention. The information can be spread by other media like television and newspapers too. These are the types of media which adults mostly come across in their everyday life. So information disseminated through these will be accessible and available to them easily. It is important to establish and develop good and friendly relationship with other staffs so that they can help when needed (Edwards and Mercer 2013). But it must be made sure that only true and authentic information is made available. If such information is not available then it is not right to spread inappropriate information. It can be said that the proper information is not available at present and it will be shared once it is made available. There are different stages of relationship which is shared between co- workers and colleagues. Sensitive information and data is not shared until and unless the other person is really trustworthy (Dunlap et al. 2014).
It is important for the adults to develop a lesson of valuing positive relationships among the children and young people. There are certain techniques which help in developing the positive relationships in life. The children should be made to overcome the biggest challenge I relationship that is, everyone is different. Every people have an expectation that the other people will do according to the way he thinks, which makes it easy to build a good rapport. Effective listening is also a part of inculcating the significance of positive relationship among young people. Listening helps in boosting the other person’s self esteem as it is a noiseless form of flattery that makes a person realize that he is appreciated and given importance. Giving time to people is like a cherished gift. In today’s world, time is considered so precious that presenting it to someone is highly appreciated. The young people must be taught to sharpen their communication skills which are the platform for developing decent behavior. Poor communication skills can lead to drastic outcome both in personal and professional life. It is also important to be technologically savvy as it covers a major part of the life (Furlong 2016). Sharing feedback is also essential in developing a feeling of positive relationship among children. Progress depends on exchange of feedback as it has the ability to enhance mutually beneficial relationship. Trust and empathy are the other two pillars of healthy relationships.
It forms an important part in teaching children how to resolve conflicts by themselves. This lesson will help them in enhancing their emotional intellect and decision making skills. It can be a challenging task to teach children at an early age the procedures for dealing with conflicts. The first step of teaching should be to make them understand that all individuals are different from each other. The thinking, believing and action in a certain situation always vary from one people to the other. They should learn to appreciate that the uniqueness in different individuals. It must be ensured that the children become aware of their safety as well as other’s while resolving conflict. They should not be encouraged to hit, push or involve in any act of violence at that moment. Maintaining a proper behavior is also important while addressing the issue of conflict. It must be taught that shouting, yelling or getting loud does not necessarily resolve the conflict but worsen it. It is also a good conduct to admit or confess the wrong done in the situation. This will make them able to take responsibility of their actions. Making apologies is also a part of confessing the mistake (Henderson, Stackman and Lindekilde 2016).
The adults should provide the children with more opportunities. The kids cannot be left to do whatever they want but at the same time they should not be restricted always. This will lead to an aggressive behavior among the children. They should be encouraged to help the adults. This will make them feel that they are important. Getting help from the children in easy task will develop a habit of helping others which will be sustained forever. It is a very good idea to let the child explore the new opportunities in life. This will make them understand the difference between good and bad. Keeping them under strict restriction will not help in their mental growth and development and the relationship between the adult and the children will be affected. It is a very good idea to let the children know that they have an importance in the life of the adults. It is the responsibility of the adults to provide the children with a safe and secured environment where they can fulfill their basic needs (Japri, Lim and Heng 2014). The adults can develop a habit of rewarding their child for something good that they have done or achieves, but care must be taken that this should not spoil the child.
it is given in the setting’s policy that the parents have the right to know that the information that they share are totally confidential as well as they will be informed about the situation and cause. The setting will be obliged to share any kind of confidential information without the consent from the person who has delivered it or with whom it is related to in the interest of public (Jin and Jung 2016).
The setting’s policy about confidentiality includes the flow of personal information in an organization. It covers the process of collecting information, utilizing and disclosing information, accessing personal information and the process of record keeping and security. To maintain confidentiality it must be ensured that what information is required, who collects the information, the process used in collecting, the place where it is stored, the duration and how it is dispose off.
The setting has a policy to keep the data accurate and up to date. The data gathered should not be processed until and unless the specific conditions are met. Adequate, relevant and not so excessive data will be used for the specific purpose and it should not be kept for long. The collected data should be processed according to the subject’s rights and should be safe from unauthorized access or destruction (Kim et al. 2014).
A major portion of learning takes place while working in the practical field. Whatever is done in the process of working becomes a part of learning. The regular tasks also tend to become important because there is always something new and innovative involved in it. From a simple instance of regular task it can be learned that it is not a wise decision to make any assumption before doing a task. The benefit of learning while working is that it requires the necessary skills and experience that the higher authorities possess. It not only means that the knowledge will be transferred in that way but also create an opportunity to discuss ideas and practices of daily life. Making mistakes is also a method which helps in learning. It is natural that everyone makes mistakes but it should be practiced that the mistake should form a basis for learning. The mistakes should be discussed with the supervisors as they will be able to find out the solution for doing the task in the right dimension. It is an essential factor to realize why things went wrong the previous time and it will be easy to find the right track the next time. It is important to highlight failure as well as success. So success stories should also be shared with the supervisors and co- workers (Kumar et al. 2015).
The duties and responsibilities of a practitioner are to supervise the children and care for them. He is expected to indulge in fun activities, planning simple lessons and arrangement of outings. The children should be provided with a safe and comfortable surrounding so that they can participate in those activities which are appropriate for their age. They need to be taught about the basic social skills, personal hygiene and discipline. Materials will be provided to them which will become better learning opportunities for them. The structured environment will enable them to engage in lone play, group merriment and other activities like artistic expression and creative time. As a practitioner, it is important to respect confidentiality and encourage diversity among the children. It is required to pay attention to those children who needs special education or those who needs bilingual support. The practitioner must upgrade his skills on a regular basis to safeguard training and first aid. He needs to be up- to- date with the changes and this will lead to his annual appraisal. He will be able to understand where his strengths and weaknesses lie by following the settings policies and procedures (Moore 2014).
It is an important part to develop honest reflection and evaluation about performance and explore new ways of improving through skill and experience. Working with others in a team helps in finding the strengths and weakness and the available support and information to build a plan which will cover up private and practiced target and implement it into action. Evaluation of one’s own performance aids in improving time management, capacity to work in time limit and prefer job, self- self-reliance, enthusiasm and self-esteem over others. Assessment of performance should be done on the basis of the set criteria and observe and recognize the succession towards fulfilling those criteria. At the same time, it is also important to admit the attainment of goals and the amount of endeavor put into achieving those. Feedback forms an integral part of evaluating own performance. The co- workers and the supervisors will be able to appreciate the achievement and also give suggestion on the areas that need improvement. Feedback helps in making the individual aware of his own practices and recognizes the problems before their arrival and the solution required to meet those issues (Moorthy et al. 2016).
The duties and responsibilities of an individual in the setting are to assist in providing individual care and development plans. It is required to attend the compulsory training sessions to improve in the career. But the job role comes with a description of what is needed to do and not how to do or at what standard. The guidelines of code of practice and national minimum standards need to be followed by the individual so that he can provide good quality of his task. In a constantly changing sector, it is essential to improve the quality of task that is provided in the form of care to the individuals. It can be easily done by throwing light on the experiences gained during the course of action. By doing so, new things can be learnt and adopted, and also have a better understanding of information, competencies and office practice in general (Nelson 2016). The ability to reflect on practice is a part of the learning process and a major chunk of it is done during the work. By planning and prioritizing personal development, the major areas from appraisal can be taken into account to help in the improvement of career.
It is an important factor to arrange a personal development plan which helps in planning career goals and objectives. This can be done by working in collaboration with the senior staff and supervisors and also the managers who do the appraisals. This creates an opportunity to discuss about the goals, methods to achieve them and the support needed for achieving those (Priest et al. 2013).
Reflective practices refer to taking out time and think about the things that are done. It also refers to the impact that it has on the work and the measures required for the improvement. The lesson on reflection will help in taking out spare time to understand an individual and the cause of their behavior. In addition, it also helps in respecting the faith, worth and understanding of the individual. It is connected to the principle of learning by comprehending, in which it is made to think about what is done and what occurred and make a decision about what to do the next time. Thinking about past is what is called being human. But there lies a difference between normal thinking and reflective practice. The latter requires a conscious effort to brood over events and learn from them. When the habit of reflective practice will be developed it will become easy to work in home and office. Reflective practice is an energetic, vibrant, lively and moral set of skills placed in actual time and dealing with genuine, intricate and tricky situations (Seligman and Csikszentmihalyi 2014).
Planning for personal development is an ongoing documentation which is in the flow of updating when the training is done or goals are achieved. It helps in showcasing the strengths and weaknesses, learning and development needs, personal goals and objectives, the required support, reviews and updates. It helps in recognizing the areas which need improvement, the process of improving and the tentative time required for improvement. The personal development plan includes various categories such as the feedback, performance indicator and focus area priority along with strengths and weaknesses. The reason behind achieving the desired state and what ability does the individual have to attain the desired state is assessed along with the knowledge level. It evaluates the resources required for attainment of the target goals. A timeline is set for fulfilling the short, medium and the long term goals by using a calendar or chart. The time division should be done in weeks which will set the milestone in between the short term goals if it is required to do so (Sharma and Sharma 2017). Personal development not only deals with education, training and development of skills but also building up a better understanding of oneself, worth, trust and knowledge and the impact on behavior. It deals with the appreciation which helps in motivating to achieve full potential.
Cultural diversity does not have a specific definition to describe. There are so many changes going on in the cultural make- up of organizations that it becomes assertive for the leaders and the supervisors to understand cultural diversity and its impact on the organization (Siemens 2014). It is important for the learners to have strong hold over language and literacy concepts. A proper way to establish the learner’s level of competence is by using literacy skills which can be introduced by a series of activities in complete collaboration. Such activities will address a range of literacy skills and theory which are similar to those used in the work. The classroom issues could result in a discussion related to LSRW or listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The conversation on learner experiences on their exercise of speech, their education could raise alertness of the strategy and approach that change over time. It also includes the series of factors that have an impact on the expansion of literacy skills and the assurance in using them. The practitioner should keep an eye on the development of language skills of the student and the students, on the other hand, should be aware of the appropriate strategies applicable in learning (Williams, Kemper and Hummert 2016).
