In this report, I am going to discuss the PMBOK knowledge areas which are relevant to the course. In this report, passing this subject is considered a project, and I shall be documenting the plan in which I shall be using the knowledge gained from the PMBOK knowledge areas for passing this subject and successfully completing this project.
In the following section of the report, I shall be providing a brief description of myself and will document how the knowledge areas of PMBOK are relevant to me and the course and how it will help in passing this subject.

Project management is simple terms can be described as the process of handling the work of a team to attain all the project goals within a particular constraint (Richardson & Jackson, 2018). The aim of this report is to consider the project of passing this subject and analyse how the use of PMBOK can help in successfully achieving the same. In the following sub-section, a brief idea of my personal details is presented.
My name is _______ and I am currently enrolled in _____________. I am very hard working and have a high interest in the field of project management. I am a social person and like to make friends. I have good communication skills. I wish to be a project manager in future.
I have a great interest in project management, and hence I have decided to get this degree from this university. I do not have much experience in this field; however, I am determined to make the most of this course which can help me to work as a project manager in future. The pandemic situation was tough, and I had to go through a lot of mental strain. However, I am determined to pass this subject with good marks, and I am dedicated to achieving the same.
I wish to be a project manager in future, and therefore, along with this course, I am planning to get PMI certification which will help me to achieve my dreams. I am working on other management skills such as communication, decision-making and problem-solving to make my dream come true.
The project management concepts that are taught in this course are applicable to any project irrespective of its size and nature. Project integration management is one of the most vital aspects of project management, and it contributes to the coordination of all elements of a project (Handzic & Bassi, 2017). This is the reason why project integration management is relevant to pass this subject. For passing this subject, one needs to ensure proper management and integration of the classes, lectures, assignments and exams (Varajão Colomo-Palacios & Silva, 2017).
According to PMBOK, Integration management can be described as a collection of procedures that are necessary to ascertain that the different elements of the project are synchronized in an appropriate manner (Guide, 2001).
Project integration management deals with proper coordination of the different elements of a project, and hence, I will apply the concept of project integration management to manage and coordinate all the aspects of passing this subject, which include attending the lectures, doubt clearance, timely submission of the work and improvement as per feedback. This is a concept that I have been using right from the start of this course.
Proper management of the project stakeholders is necessary for ensuring project success.
Project stakeholder management, in simple terms, can be described as the process of managing the expectations of the people who are impacted by the project or has an interest in the same (Verzuh & American Psychological Association, 2021).
Application of the concept of project stakeholder management is necessary for the project of passing this subject. Although I am a student of this course, there are several stakeholders who will be affected by passing or failing this subject. The project sponsor is a primary project stakeholder, and for this project, the sponsor is my parents. Other stakeholders include my family, friends, my university, lecturer and group members.
Proper and timely identification of project scope contributes to the delivery of a successful project. The details of scope management related to this project are presented as follows.
PMBOK explains project scope as the work that is required to be achieved to ensure the successful delivery of a project (Guide, 2001).
In order to successfully pass this subject, I am required to recognize the scope of the project and manage all the work related to the successful delivery of the project. The scope of this project is to pass the subject with good marks.
Appropriate and adequate resource management plays a vital role in the successful delivery of a project. The details of resource management related to this project are presented as follows.
According to PMBOK, resource management in project management is associated with the analysis and management of all the critical resources associated with the project (Guide, 2001).
In order to successfully pass this subject, I need to ensure proper management of the resources. I have already acquired the needed resources such as books, pens and paper. Since the majority of the classes are held online, my laptop is another critical resource for this project. Hence, I can say that proper resource management is necessary for the successful delivery of this project.
The success of any project is largely dependent on its timely delivery, and hence ensuring proper time management in project management is necessary.
Project Time management can be well-defined as the ability of a project team to plan and complete the project within the expected time (Oburu, 2020).
I believe that time management is very important for me to pass this subject. Therefore, I have planned and scheduled everything that can help me in passing this subject. Apart from that, I shall be scheduling all my assignments and home works on time, which will add to effective time management related to this course.
A project is considered a success only if the project team is able to deliver the same within the specified budget.
The project cost management process generally involves the primary processes related to the planning, estimation, finance and budgeting process of a project, along with managing and cost controlling (Manzoor, 2019).
Some of the major costs linked with this course are the course fees and the cost of the resources. The sponsor of this project helps me to manage the cost to a large extent.
Every project is associated with certain risks that are necessary to be managed. Hence, having a clear idea of the concept of risk management is necessary for successful project delivery (Handzic & Bassi, 2017).
Risk management can be demarcated as a methodical process of identification, analysis and management of the critical risks associated with this project.
The project of passing this subject are certain critical risks associated with it, especially in the situation of this pandemic and global crisis. The primary risk is the risk of failure, which I shall mitigate by ensuring effective preparation and getting good marks. Another risk is the risk of illness due to Covid-19. I will mitigate this risk by following all the covid-19 related rules and regulations.
The extent of project success is dependent on the delivery of a project of appropriate quality.
Project quality management is a formal process that ensures that the highest quality product is delivered through a project (Verzuh & American Psychological Association, 2021).
In order to apply the quality management concepts in the project, I need to set quality metrics first. I am planning to get at least 60% of the marks, and accordingly, I am studying really hard to achieve this quality in passing the subject. My idea of quality is somewhat similar to my group members.
This particular knowledge area is relevant to the project of passing this subject.
Project procurement management generally involves the processes that are necessary for acquiring products necessary for the implementation of the project (Fleming, 2019).
This knowledge area is relevant to my project as in order to pass this subject; I need to procure certain things, which include books, computers and a steady internet connection.
Communication with the stakeholders is a key to project success. The role of project communication management in project success is presented as follows.
Project communication management can be labelled as the process of ensuring timely generation, collection, and dissemination of the information related to the project (Mike, 2021).
In this project, appropriate communication flow is necessary to ensure appropriate stakeholder management. I am going to communicate with the stakeholders through telephonic and video calls, which will help me to remain connected with the stakeholders.
Conclusions
This assignment has given me the opportunity to understand this subject and PMBOK in a better manner. Upon completion of the assignment, I have a complete idea of all the knowledge areas of PMBOK and have been successful in understanding its importance in project planning, management and delivery. Thus, it can be analysed that PMBOK is a good way of thinking about this subject.
