The report is prepared for xyz.com which operates on the ecommerce business for selling different products and service to the users. The organization currently uses an online retail management software for recording some of the business information. The sales order are managed manually and there is a need for the organization to automate the current business process of the organization and reduce the effort of the employees working in the organization. The challenges faced by the organization such as the competitors using more advanced technology for attracting more number of customers and manage all the customer and the product information from a single point. Utilizing the fact finding the different problems with the current business process is analyzed and the improvement strategy is implemented for meeting the requirements. There are different approaches such as interviews, observation, research and its description is given as follows:
Interviews: It is used for the gap analysis and identification of the organizational strategy used by the business organization to reach the customer.
Questionnaires: It analyzes the requirement of the organization and used as a feedback for the improvement of the current project.
Document review: The It is used for the analysis of the quality and the errors in the project by comparing it with the successful information system available in the market.
Observation: The progress of the project should be observer for identification of the change in the requirement and align it with the current needs of the organization.
Research: Data is collected from different sources for using it in the development of the ecommerce platform for the organization.
From the As Is process diagram it is identified that the sales orders are manually handled and the employee’s needs to manually check the orders for creating a correlation with the business rules of the organization. The employees needs to manually input the customer details and the order details in the information system for the management of the data. The implementation of warehouse automation can resolve the issues and help the organization to maintain a record of their stock.
Creating a strategy for the treatment of the online networking and stick at the arrangement. For processing the orders in the warehouse the orders needs to pass through the warehouse and thus reduce the manual effort of the employees for the management of the details of the orders.
After checking the order the information needs to be processed in the information system of the organization. The current business rules of the organization is evaluated for checking the order manually and creation of pick list. The implementation of the automation process would help in reducing the effort of the employees for cross referencing the business information system and maintaining the availability of the product. More information about the product such as product location and details can be maintained with the implementation of the automation process.
The ecommerce market is current growing and the organization faces different types of issues while maintaining the organizational information. For gaining the leading position in the market the organization needs to identify the risk at an early stage and prepare a risk mitigation plan for handling the risk associated with the current business process of the organization. Different encryption algorithm must be used and private clouds should be used for storing the sensitive organizational data from securing the information from external access. The leakage of the information can cause a huge loss for the organization and thus the database needs to be secured from illegal access and secure the customer information for successful deployment of the ecommerce platform.
It is recommended that a sub process of order shipment should be created for shipping the product to the right destination and maintaining a transparency with the customer. The information system should be designed to get all the details of the shipment and store it in the database such that it can be shared with the customer. The sharing of the shipping information helps the customer to track the orders and improve the loyalty of the customer for the business organization.
