Taking part in network ventures benefit is a vital advance in giving a durable positive effect on the general public. It is two years now since I offered as a volunteer at a non-benefit association. The association concentrated on raising assets to encourage poor people, vagrants, the crippled and numerous individuals who were tested in the general public. In this period, I can’t state I feel any second thoughts, yet I feel more revived and pleased that I have played out a great deal of activities that have changed existences of a huge number of poor individuals. During my first days in office, things seen different because I was required to have all the other managerial activities in order. Together with my five other colleagues we had to find out ways that we could best relocated the office from town to the next in the other side of the valley. Relocation can be challenging and at the same time exciting. The limits within which we operate can be tested through relocation.
I was entitled with the task pf forming a group to work with. Selection of members was actually a hard experience ever. All the members looked upon me in expectation of any guidance since they all relied on a safe and patterned behavior I could display. I lead the team in gathering all their impressions and the relevant information about their differences and the similarities among them all and also formed the preferences that could be of importance at a later stage of sub-grouping. I oriented the members in all aspects of participation as they also get to know each other. Conflict being a challenge to overcome I had to orient the members in a manner that could all avoid, Sinclair, A. J., Diduck, A., & Fitzpatrick, P. (2008).
As we progressed with the relocation task, every other member was now well conversant with the whole process, they began their own things neglecting all the stated principles that were to guide us all in the relocation process. Everybody wanted to carry his own activity. Those to whom I had assigned the task of carrying the furniture materials began diverging their thoughts. Everybody felt a leader of his or her own, Hughes, G. (2013). I was to some extend discouraged, but from my mother’s advice I recalled and once again I became strong enough to harmonize the team member. Being a leader, I could easily convince them and to my luck they all responded positively. Their mentality of proving things for themselves as well as proving changed and they all realized the mission which turned them to be with a problem-solving mentality.
Being tasked and full of the leadership skills, I succeeded in reconciling the members. The trust was restored and each member valued the importance of other members. Within a very short time, we were once again in our original state. They acknowledged every other member’s contribution, building and their contribution in solving all the issues. From the disagreement that occurred I really had a hard time as a leader since instead of quarreling the team members I had to do most of the duties on my own to avoid trouble. It was a source of joy and peace of mind the moment the members came to terms, Anderson et al (2009). All the burden that was bestowed on me now begun reducing and this provided me with room to relax.
From the team work experience, it was a difficult thing to bring all the members as one. Though it’s hard to reached this point, my team showed potential efforts in the relocation process. The interpersonal norms mediated upon all the relationships in place. We all resumed to our daily planned chores and the relocation process once again picked up, Kumagai, A. K., & Lypson, M. L. (2009).
Having accomplished the planned mission, I had to lead the members with an adjournment report where we analyzed the goals set aside and the stated objectives if truly they were achieved. All the members appreciated the come together meeting where each individual effort was appreciated, Kumagai, A. K., & Lypson, M. L. (2009). It was a nice experience working with the team. Even though challenges came our way, it was a high time to celebrate our achievement as individuals and the overall success of the team.
Conclusion
In light of this learning, I will seek to achieve more noteworthy positions in administration. This will at that point decide the course my life would take from that point.
