Community health nursing diagnostic system.
The major social media that are the most effective to use in the campaign to create awareness to a large mass of individual is the Facebook and Twitter. The critical content which will appear in my two social media that have already mentioned is the community health nursing diagnostic statement. The community health nursing diagnostic statement is a standardized statement about the health of an individual, community as well as families (Chung, Gani, Gillman, Maher, Brennan &Chan, 2018). As a result of plenty of fast food options in the United States, the community health patterns depicts maximum consumption of fast food. These food preferences correlate with the inevitable rise of the detrimental health problems such as obesity. Overweight as well as obesity numbers are emerging at a higher rate in the United States and maximize the speed of getting many diseases and health problems. This obesity epidemic is an essential concern for adults, children, and adolescents across the United States as indicated by the recent research. According to the estimation, 97 million adults in the United States are overweight or obese (Ludwig, 2018). These situations mostly increase their risk of suffering from the dangerous disease like hypertension, dyslipidemia, type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, gallbladder disease, osteoarthritis, sleep apnea and respiratory problems, and endometrial, breast, prostate, and colon cancers. Therefore, the Facebook page shall contain all the risks that associates with weight gain accompanied by the prevention measures like how to plan for the diet.
Health inequity and disparity.
The state of health disparities and inequity in the United States has been one of the major areas that most of the studies are focused towards. Health disparities are variations that exist within specific populations in the United States. Due to a broad gap in health potential in the U.S several unpleasant incidences such as mortality, the burden of disease obesity being one of them and many other adverse health conditions. Several factors are believed to contribute to one’s ability to achieve optimal health which includes gender, sexual orientation, age, disability status, socioeconomic status, and geographic location. Also, not to leave is the race and ethnicity of an individual (Larson et al., 2018). The health disparities can stem to health, and therefore the community should ensure that they find the possible solutions to this condition. The cities within the United States are establishing and putting into work strategies that can help to minimize health inequities (Andreae, Gabry, Goodrich, White, & Hall, 2018). Regularly these community efforts go unaddressed in the media while stories of activities that are not beneficial as much like blight, crime, or community unrest receive more attention. Hence the Twitter will contain all vital links indicating ways of dealing with inequity in health as well as how to solve the problem of health disparities in as one of the dominant method of conveying the message on how to prevent cancer.
Primary community and prevention resources.
To reverse the condition of an obesity epidemic, there is some practice that an individual should do to support healthy living in many settings. Strategies to prevent obesity devised by recent research study about obesity causative are the nutrition maintenance and physical activity. In a more detailed manner is that community should maximize the availability of healthier food and beverages as they plan their daily diet menu. They should also increase the accessibility of the affordable foodstuffs and drinks that are likely to be used by the society at large (Whelton et al., 2017). Bigger shops and supermarkets that contains a wide variety of material needed in the diets should be put in place to avail the necessary food.
Underlying causes of obesity.
The consumption of sweetened food should also be discouraged because they are in a good position of causing obesity. In addition to diet control, the physical part of the body should also not be left behind. Lack of exercise causes obesity to be triggered and one ends up being obese. Physical exercise helps people to Control weight, decrease cardiovascular disease, minimize the risk for type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome, reduce the risk of cancers, strengthen bones and muscles as well as improving mental and mood (Roy, Ghosh, Sathain, & Banerjee, 2018). The Social Media should be in a position to avail all this information on how to prevent and do away with cancer.
There are several evidence-based practices about obesity
The popular media and epidemiological surveys indicate that pediatric obesity and overweight have reached epidemic levels in the United States and also in most of the developed world. According to the most recent research done by the National Health and Nutrition Evaluation Survey shows that approximately 17 percent of children and adolescents in the United States are obese. Around 32 percent are overweight in relative to the total population of the nation (Spring, B. (2007). Studies have carried an investigation into the effects of obesity on working memory. According to the systematic review, girls attainment most likely to be affected by obesity, and math’s achievement specifically. In the United States, there might be an association between obesity and the cognitive processing speed which affects the academic performance in the classroom setting, but the prevalence is not much among boys (Klingberg et al. 2005). Therefore to capture the attention of the more significant population and convey message a twitter handle will be useful because most of the adolescence have Mobile phones and twitter with hashtags will assist to reach them and pass the word faster. The Twitter will have a design of mind capturing information such as (PREVENT OBESITY TODAY) in such scenario each person will be curious to study about preventing obesity since none would like to associates with it. The twitter shall contain links showing where to get further information, and people can download and read via their phones.
Identification of data.
The data will come from the latest statistics carried out on the issue of obesity. Also surveillance system, the United States indicator reports as well as graphs, charts, pictures and maps related to obesity. All these fields will help in collecting sufficient information about obesity and from this better way of prevention can be jotted down. The best source of data is the state indicator reports which incorporates every the information about breastfeeding, fruit and vegetables and the national action guidelines which are vital in the case of conducting the campaign in the social media (Butler et al., 2000).
The objective of the social media campaign
The first and foremost is to create awareness of the existence of a disorder known as obesity. To highlight the significant causes of obesity, to expose the community on the lifestyle activities that encourages obesity, to familiarize the individual with the kind of a diet plan they should jot down as they plan for the daily meals, to emphasize on the ways of preventing obesity as early as starting from childhood and to out how one can measure or take note of obesity condition in the body. Besides, social media targets to reach a large mass of people at a go. It also hosts different program that relates to obesity and that way helps in saving many people live and reducing the cost of medication (Boles, Adams, Gredler, & Manhas, 2014).
Social marketing interventions
The two significant population battered in my theme are the youngsters and grown-up since they are the most liable to get obesity. The campaign will involve visiting of schools where teen-agers study and the school managers can be consulted for authorization of children in schools to get obesity edification. One of the approaches I will use is going with samples of the food stuff that children like most and then explain to them on how to regulate the consumption. Adults are likely to use the network and in my case the Facebook page will have photographs of individual who were previously obsessed but presently they are free (Ellison, 2007). This will encourage them to practice more on the guideline given in that Facebook page and twitter links.
Benefits of the social media Facebook and Twitter
The benefits of Facebook as one of the social media is that it quickly reaches many people within a short period (Ellison, 2007). Also, it is quickly accessed by most people since it only requires access to the internet. Most of the people who don’t have televisions at home and workplaces can still get information while doing their work. Besides, it is easier to get information via your phone because it does not require you to be at a specific place to get the message. The most economical one is Twitter since it sends information to large group of people at a go and it does not require internet for the person to read the message (Holt-Lunstad, 2018). The two media that is Facebook and Twitter will help in effective and efficient awareness creation.
Benefits to the target population
Children being one of the embattled populace will extensively benefit by partaking good fitness as they nurture and will have rarer obligation in terms of medicinal difficulties. The will also guide the succeeding cohort and moreover the paternities will not be under burden of taking care of the children’s diet. The adult similarly will benefit even more because they are already in reproductive age and therefore in need of bringing forth healthy offspring (Ellison, 2007).
Best practices for social media
Both Twitter and Facebook will be delivering information at any given time. Also, questions can be sent, and answers provided back within no time. They very reliable and most dependable social media that helps in the conveyance of the message. Both are the cheapest means of communication in the United States that will access many and capturer their attention (Hawn, 2009).
Stakeholder roles and responsibilities
The significant roles and responsibilities are to promote the social media campaign as the principal setting for health and encourage as well as enable the developments of the health adverting programs in the Facebook page and twitter and any other media. Should be in a position to monitor the changes that will occur as a result of the obesity awareness campaigns (Morley et al., 2018). The stakeholder should research more on the best way of preventing obesity and step further to place it on the social media. Also should master the areas that are not well handled and be capable of rectifying. Also, the stakeholder should investigate the piloting process of all the programs. Dissemination of good practice as well as coming up with helpful ideas for the project.
Potential partnerships
The significant partnership with the nursing campaign is the world health organisation, American public health association, American college of sports medicine, association of children’s museums, Association of State and Territorial Public Health Nutrition Directors, CDC Division of Adolescent and School Health, Cherokee Nation, Children’s National Medical Center, Delaware Physicians Care and National Association of School Nurses (Kraak, Englund, Zhou, & Duffey, 2018).
Implementation timeline
The campaign well plan program should be ready for launching at the agreed period. The burner to use should be smart and well decorated to capture the attention and attract as many readers as possible. Also, all the partners should have the project program announcement, title, and number. The campaign goals both the short term and long term towards obesity and annual objectives as well as the measure of success for each purpose (Chau et al., 2018).
How to evaluate effectiveness of the campaign
The effectiveness of the campaign will be evaluated by analyzing the number of patients who visit the hospital with cases of obesity and the level of the obese they are in. The reduction of the number of patient affected by obesity will help in revealing the truth about the triumph of the campaign. Also the number of characters in necessity of receiving more information by posting questions to how social media page will aid in knowing that the message is conveyed efficiently.
Cost of implementation
The cost of implementation is around 2 million dollars that will be compulsory for the flinch of the campaign. The amount will be used in transport where by the people in charge of shepherding campaign will be moving from one domicile to another. Besides the vehicles that will be carrying the campaign material need to be fueled which also requires finance. About five thousand dollars will be spent on purchasing the campaign resources. The rest of dollars will be used to pay the nurses and any other individual who will be participating. How social media also we need some amount of dollars in order for it keep going as most of people will be networking through online means.
Reflection on social media marketing
The reflection in social media marketing is that it is the most efficient mode of tackling various section of the health of the people. The work of the community nurses is made much easier when it comes to the usage of social marketing in delivering information. Large number of people are trained which promotes healthier population with the society.
Reflection of future nursing practice
The future nursing practices will have a good picture of the community, and all the health problems will reduce substantially (Kirkland, & Raphael, 2018). Health status of the United States citizens will be the best, and the cost of treatment and medications decrease.
Finally a healthy nation result to better development and growth of the nation. Depending on the nursing diagnosis, a nurse chooses a protocol of intervention to deliver necessary care to patients. Nurses have the mandate for selecting the correct diagnosis and hold responsibility for a patient’s outcome after receiving care (Cabassa et al., 2018). Nurses make use of various types of nursing diagnosis statements. Community health nursing diagnostic is the foundation of the community health practice which aims at ensuring that the community receives health care of high quality
Obesity refers to a state that associates with having excess fat in the body as a result of environment or genetic factors that are difficult to balance when dieting. Obesity is mostly measured using a tool known as Body Mass Index (BMI), and obesity is categorized as having a body mass index of 30 or even more. Obesity is a very dangers condition as it maximizes the danger of developing related conditions for example hypertension, diabetes, high blood pressure and sleep apnea (Kuczmarski & Flegel, 2000). A large population is suffering from obesity but are unaware of it. Due to this reason of individuals being ignorant the causes, signs, and prevention of obesity the nursing sector decides that using social media campaign can help to create awareness. The paper, therefore, will expound more on the social media strategies that can be implemented to inform a large group on the issue of obesity in a more elaborate manner.
