The effectiveness as well as the usefulness of the learning experience will be evaluated stating my viewpoints regarding the learning experience and in what ways was the learning process effective. There is also the requirement of evaluating and explaining the process of learning. There is the requirement for maintaining an individual reflective journal in this regard.
I have conducted the business research for analyzing the use of social media in developing the business organization. The nature of this business research is providing a transparent idea regarding the influence of social media regarding the structure of the organization. This process of business research has helped me in determining what the potential customer needs, which will be guiding the company toward developing better products as well as services. In this regard, I have conducted customer surveys as well as focus groups regarding potential customers. This process of business research is effective for the companies that are using the B2B business strategy for the maintaining their reputation and customer relationship (Bryman 2015).
I will be conducting the research designs for being the type of inquiries that will consisting of different methods of design that are correlating with a specific topic. The process of research will be guided by the theoretical concepts, which will be having relation with the research studies and there will occur the designing of the research process in relation to the purpose of the research. The research process will be focusing on various research designs such as qualitative design, narrative design as well as phenomenological design. Also, for planning the research process, I will be designing certain mixed methods like explanatory sequential mixed methods, embedded mixed methods, transformative mixed methods, multiphase mixed methods as well as convergent parallel mixed methods (Smith 2015).
I have prepared the literature review stating that the social media research is done by various companies for promoting their business within a specific section of people in addition, to the building of a new distinct identity as well. I have also made this business research with the aim of understanding the effectiveness in utilizing the social media in respect of different purposes of business in addition to the outcome of using the social media regarding businesses. For writing the business research, I have considered certain aspects such as the ways by which the organization Woolworths is undertaking the functioning of their social networking division, in what ways social media platforms are taken into consideration by the organization and the different purposes of those social media platforms (Smith 2015). Also, in what ways the profitability of the organization will be influencing the social network and the consequences that the organization have faced with the social media earlier.
I considered the ethical as well as the legal aspect in business research due to various factors. Firstly, this helped in promoting the research aims like knowledge, truth as well as avoiding mistakes. Secondly, ethical standards will be promoting values that are necessary for collaborating the work, which includes guidelines regarding authorship, copyright and patenting policies, policies regarding the sharing of data, and confidentiality rules regarding peer re-evaluation. Thirdly, various ethical considerations will assist in ensuring that researchers will be held accountable to the public. Fourthly, ethical considerations regarding research will also assist in building public assistance in respect of research (Silverman 2016). Lastly, many of the ethical considerations regarding research will be promoting a variety of other significant moral as well as social values, which includes social responsibility, human rights, animal welfare, compliance with the law, and health and safety of the public.
I have conducted the qualitative research in two stages such as the basic stage and the higher stage. The content of investigation will be having the involvement of coding and data sorting. Also, I have considered participant observation as a tool to collect data regarding individuals, processes and cultural aspects regarding qualitative research. Moreover, qualitative methods like collection of data, which includes interviewing, observation and analysis of documents have also been taken into consideration. In this context, it needs to be noted that when I was designing the research study and determining whether participant observation will be used as a data collection method, I have taken into consideration certain aspects. These are the kind of questions that are guiding the study, the study site, the availability of scopes at the observation site and the strategies that will be used for recording as well as analyzing the data (Rustici 2013).
In respect of doing qualitative research, I have considered the aspects of interviews and focus groups. I have used the interview method for exploring the views, experiences, beliefs and motivations regarding the individual participants and I have used focus groups towards the generation of the qualitative data. While designing the interview structure, I have framed questions that would be yielding as much information regarding the research as possible and will also be addressing the research aims as well as research objectives. I have made the questions to be open ended, neutral and understandable. Prior to the starting of the interview, I have informed the respondents regarding the details of the study, and assured them regarding the ethical principles (Miles 2013). Moreover, I have used the focus groups to generate information regarding collective views, and the criteria regarding the use of focus groups take into consideration the aspect of research associated with group norms, meanings as well as processes, exploring a topic or collecting group language or narratives that will get used in later stages (Ott 2015). Also, clarifying, extending, qualifying or challenging collection of data through different methods and to feedback outcomes to the participants of research (McMillan 2014).
The qualitative data analysis will occur in two stages such as the basic stage and the higher stage. The content of investigation will be having the involvement of coding and data sorting. Qualitative methods like collection of data, which includes interviewing, observation and analysis of documents have also been taken into consideration. In this context, it needs to be noted that when I was designing the research study and determining whether participant observation will be used as a data collection method, I have taken into consideration certain aspects (Hair 2014). The different qualitative data analysis technique that have been considered in the research study are content analysis, grounded analysis, social network analysis, discourse analysis, narrative analysis and conversation analysis.
I have conducted the sampling technique in quantitative research, by defining the target population, selecting a sampling frame, determining whether a probability or non-probability method of sampling will be selected, planning the processes to do the selection of the units of sampling, determining the size of sample, selecting actual units of sampling and finally conducting fieldwork. In this regard, I have considered two types of sampling methods that include probability samples and non-probability samples (Good 2013). For the selection of random samples four methods will get selected such as random, stratified random, cluster and systematic. The non-random methods of sampling will include convenience sampling, purposive sampling and quota sampling.
I have mostly used unstructured interviewing that includes the open-ended questions and structured interviewing has been used very less, as these questionnaires will be containing only close-ended questions. I keeping in mind the unstructured interviewing format have done the designing of the questionnaire (Glesne 2015).
I have used the structured observation technique to do the collection of data that is having two significant traits. In addition, content analysis is done through written texts, oral texts, iconic texts, audio-visual texts as well as hypertexts.
I have considered two types of sampling methods that include probability samples and non-probability samples. For the selection of random samples four methods will get selected such as random, stratified random, cluster and systematic. The non-random methods of sampling will include convenience sampling, purposive sampling and quota sampling (Friese 2014).
I did the combination of data taking into consideration two characteristics such as component design and integrated design. The aspect of component design will be including the collection of data in an independent way and then doing the combination at the end to interpret and conclude. The aspect of integrated design will be including the combination of various options towards the aspect of evaluating the understandings that are more meaningful (Ericksson 2013).
Conclusion:
To conclude it can be stated that the nature, process and strategy of the business research has been conducted, the research design and planning of the research process has been done, the ethical and legal considerations regarding business research has been taken into consideration. Also, the nature of qualitative research, sampling and participant observation has been made. Moreover, the nature of the qualitative research, sampling and participant observation as well as the nature and sampling in quantitative research have been done.
