Healthcare industry has been developing and emerging in an enormous manner catering to wide range of services and functionality. My area of specialization or career within health industry is the role of a health strategic planner. Thus, this report analyses my action plan in order to attain my career goals and peer reviews of myself which gives a brief detail of various acquired skills in order to reach my aims in career.  

Taking pertinent feedback from peers, professors and others, there are various areas that I need to improve upon. Firstly, I need to enhance my decision-making skills such that I am able to take key decisions at the time that it is needed. Prior to starting my job experience, I will need to increase my IT skills further such that I am easily capable to use the system without much hindrance and resolve any type of technical issues pertaining to the same. Moreover, I will need to cope up with market pressures and match my temperament to levels such that better care services can easily be provided.  

Most corporates and organisations nowadays hire and select personnel from online sources. It is therefore essential to create an online profile that can be seen by multiple recruiters (Ellison, 2007). The online profile will function more like a Resume with multiple skills added and endorsed by other professionals. The profile can be accessed by client’s all over the world and can function as a way of self-advertisement where my performance, experience all other relevant details can be added dynamically to the profile (Heiden, 2008). Organisation cannot only endorse such skills rather they will be able to contact easily through other profile details. In the age of digitalisation, it becomes impertinent to ensure that a candidate has capability to extend his or her potential by way of online endeavors (Stecher, 2008). In absence of self-capabilities to extend oneself as a professional in the domain of healthcare as being a health strategic planner, one will not be able to be successful. Organisation will generally tend to look for such professionals through online sites and portals (Counts, 2009).

Healthcare sector is gradually emerging with a varied types of roles and opportunities. with such emergent types of roles there are various possibilities that are created. In the segment of health strategic planner there are number opportunities that are arising. I will be completing my course as a professional health strategic planner. The degree is well accredited and in demand across the industry. With limited experience in the industry and exposure, yet there are large number of areas of knowledge that I am aware off. I have a work experience in Volunteering services as well. In volunteering service, I have been able to learn a lot passionately. My career goals are to become a leader as a health strategic planner. I want to establish my name and fame within the industry and become most soughed professional. My unique skill comprise of my hard working capability, which is liked by all. With dedicated efforts and skills, I will be able to make myself as a versatile professional with experience.  

Activity 2-SMART Goals

 It was integral to create a personal profile and feedback session for my career goals and objectives that were outlined. By undertaking Gap analysis and SWOT on myself, I was able to easily understand the gaps in knowledge of mine. In order to become a successful person in the industry, it becomes crucial that one is able to overcome his weaknesses. I have been successfully able to understand my weaknesses and diagnose them critically. Then analysing key objectives that needs to be achieved for me through employment of various techniques (Swayne, 2012). The areas in which I lagged had to be measurable and then only steps to overcoming them could be designed. There were certain threats that I experienced which posts analysis revealed that while some could be overcome others needed some professional attention to emerge as a successful professional. From Action Plan, there has been tremendous transfer of learning, as I was able to segregate each aspects against targeted outcomes. Further the Action Plan allowed me to chart down each objectives in terms of SMART techniques with specifically attainable goals. There was time duration associated with each outcome that made sure that there was specific time duration when each objective had to be attained. There was also columns where we could evaluate and input steps needed to be undertaken for overcoming challenges and attaining objectives. I have learnt that with continuous efforts and diagnosis of skill gap, one can emerge as a professional. The Peer Review also allowed significant insight into several processes that I lagged which could easily be overcome. I was lagging in several performance criteria though I had completed technical degree. I needed to enhance my technical skills and knowledge levels further. I should be undertaking professional courses such that I can become a professional who is ready for the industry (Baur, 2010). With various facets of the healthcare industry gradually evolving, there is need of stages that allows for healthcare strategic planner to demonstrate their capabilities. With emerging roles of healthcare strategic planner, I need to perform my duties such that I can set new standards for the industry.            

Teamwork has become a critical aspect of successful implementation and achievement for team objectives. Capability to work within team has become one of the leading areas requiring improvement. In the current team, each member tries to contribute equally towards scopes and areas of performance. Each member has immense potential to perform and work within team. All members are adjusting and have suitable temperament that allows easily to work within team formats. With high potential amongst each of the team members, there often arises conflicts amongst them. These conflicts can lead to a hosts of possible challenges and issues while performing key activities. The team lagged in communication, which led to each member not been able to decide on course of action that was required for the team. This often led to division amongst team members. With lagging in communication capabilities the minimum potential of each of the team members was hampered badly. There was no method to resolve conflicts amongst team members by way of negotiation. A process of negotiation and team leader requirement was felt badly in the team. The required procedure in the team was that of a team leader who would be easily able to resolve any problems arising in the team. The team leader needed to have requisite knowledge of the team and all discussions that was happening with it.

However, the experience of working within team was very appropriate as there tremendous levels of input received from each team member. There was immense transfer of learning that occurred through getting into the team. Only through the team was it possible to attain professional objectives. In absence of team work it was almost impossible to attend to goals and objectives planned. The team allowed designing of achievable in an appropriate manner and timely completion of the same. In absence of team efforts it would almost be impossible to complete the deliverables. It is considered to be one of the best teams across the board that was able to easily achieve its objectives.

The feedback and action plan helped me immensely to understand regarding myself in the domain. There was tremendous potential of mine, which was explored through endeavors undertaken. There were limited scopes for exploration according to SMART techniques and objectives. However, the major attraction of Action Plan was its feedback or reflective process that allowed to analyse learning’s that had taken place. The major challenge or issues pertaining to learning analysis reflects major gaps existing in processes or Gaps that needed closing. Closing of all gaps that existed across various procedure for becoming a leading health strategic planner has to exists. Improving the same by means of professional courses or by way of experience will allow attain goals easily.       

Conclusion 

Analysing from various key findings from my personal skills, I am able to understand relevant aspects regarding the same. Through personal enhancement and career path development, I will be able to emerge as a leading professional in my domain. I will not only be able to extend my professional expertise but also become a professional being sought after by many employers. With my professional courses and career expansion I will be further become a sound professional and be able to match up to expectations of the organisation.
