Attending various events in the society familiarizes individuals with different cultures, hence creates an artistic expression where significant values are shared. Through events, individuals gain insights, and they can understand communities with their diverse cultures. Conversely, classifying the local events assist the young person’s to share experiences experienced by their relatives (Liu and Wilson, 2014 pp.13). Additionally, events facilitate pride for the community and increase public participation through cultural knowledge and dimensions to individuals involved. Two types of events which are major and mega engage participants internationally (Andersson and Lundberg, 2013 pp.100). For this paper, I will identify and analyze the positive and the negative impacts of the Twilight Food Fair event from North Sydney which I attended. Additionally, I will examine the aspects based on its operational management to decide if it has recognized its goals successfully and achieved stakeholder satisfaction.
Beginning with the positive impacts, the stakeholders clarify that the Twilight Food Fair Event provides people with a starting point to familiarize with the other society members. The impacts captured from this event shows that it impacts the economy positively. The people in the society outlines that the event delivers unity in the society through quantitative and the qualitative techniques. Clearly, the events satisfy the stakeholder objectives which recognize the needs of people in the society. Therefore, the event organizers seem to understand the impacts of the events based on the people’s behaviors and perceptions. From the goals and objectives of Twilight Food Fair event, it is evident that the social objectives are already delivered. Clearly, the delivery techniques are well planned and allow other positive impacts to be achieved. The attendees seem excited that the event engages people and contributes to changes which align with the interests of the individuals participating in certain activities. From my observations, the attendees are satisfied, and positive responses are received by estimating the individual experiences in the event. Additionally, the event organizers are seeking for opportunities to acquire revenues and more visitors hence a good reputation and positive image is created internationally and nationally (Jayaswal, 2010 pp.15). From the views of attendees, this event assists individuals from escaping their routine to go and have fun (Gallarza, Arteaga & Gil-Saura, 2013 pp.106). The event is said to assist in developing the standards of the community since it paves the way for community services such as hotels, shops, and restaurants. Moreover, the community’s members confirm that the event allows them to acquire new skills. Finally, the event increases the pride of the people as they showcase the features of their traditions and cultures.
In analyzing the negative impacts, I realize that the Twilight Food Fair event is seen as a test of overcrowding. Dongfeng Liu and Robert Wilson (2014) affirm overcrowding is a major problem experienced in mega and major events. The event organizers complain that a lot of expenses are incurred hence they struggle to meet needs of the attendees. The attendees also claimed that they experience travel inconveniences leading to challenges. Other negative impacts are that the event is subjected to insecurities and pollution hence an environmental concern is raised. Additionally, Twilight Food Fair event is associated economic difficulties such as price inflation. Dongfeng Liu and Robert Wilson (2014) indicates that the events subject people to the risk of communicable diseases, so the environment is a major concern. The stakeholders indicate that they encounter challenges in balancing the stakeholder relationships hence result in fluctuations. The community is surrounding the place of the event in North Sydney experience negative social-cultural effects as discussed. The event is said to cause disturbance since the resident’s privacy is invaded. In another view, the event causes environmental pollution through the noise, and there is tight traffic in the city (Håkansson & Engström, 2010. pp.5). The public transport is also overcrowded since many people travel from far to attend the event. The event encourages the use of drugs and alcohol hence the majority of the youths to engage in immorality.
In evaluating the features of Twilight Food Fair event operation management, I will determine if it has recognized its goals and achieved the stakeholder satisfaction. In this evaluation, I will consider communication and cooperation achieved between various stakeholders who engaged in the planning of the event. Engstrom and Hakansson (2010) provide the opinion that the stakeholder participation facilitates benefits to the society, visitors, and entrepreneurs. Examples of advantages facilitated are low seasons, occupancy rate increases, economies of scale, promotion activities, employment rates increase, infrastructure is developed, and safety measures improve. Therefore, the communication between the community members and the organizers are vital and also, the involvement leads to event’s sustainability in the long-term. The organizers engage the locals in the process where they assist in the planning of the event. Also, the event provides the locals with feedback after the event is successful. The organizers recommend the locals, and they provide positive feedback to keep them interested in participating in the following event. Based on the interviews conducted to event organizers, they indicate that they request feedback from the local businesses and visitors. In this way, I will estimate the event’s success and determine if the goals were achieved, as well as estimate the stakeholder satisfaction. Moreover, the event’s quality can be improved to ensure visitor experiences improve.
The Twilight Food Fair event is also examined using the principles of sustainability as well as the triple bottom line model. To start with the principles of sustainability were inspired and developed by Buckminster Fuller. The principle is joined to facilitate and help regain ideas especially those concerning the event (Allen, O’toole, Harris and McDonnell, 2012 pp.10). They focus on of the issues associated with development, business plans, economy, individual initiatives, and investments outline. The material perspective focus on how the event regulates the resources existing in the community. Based on the economic perspective, it guides the event organizers towards managing the existing resources to facilitate customers’ satisfaction (Baptista Alves, María & Vanessa, 2010 pp.30). The social dimension of the principles of sustainability shows how the event enhances interactions of the people in North Sydney. The code of ethics is also enhanced, and it provides a good environment for interaction (Bird, 2009. pp.1307). On the other hand, the event is also examined using the triple bottom line approach which unveils three segments of the accounting framework which are the financial, environmental, and social. The event adopts the triple bottom line framework. Using the triple bottom line demands the event to take care of the stakeholders rather than the shareholders (Chirieleison & Montrone, 2013 pp.95). It combines the shareholder theory which ensures that the event considers the interests of shareholders. The social equity bottom line ensures the event fulfills the needs of the society members. The environmental bottom line ensures the event upholds effective operations in the environment. Finally, the economic bottom line facilitates the events economic value.

To summarize, due to many the various events organized in North Sydney, the working individuals and students will fix their time to have fun with their loved ones. Therefore, planning for the Twilight Food Fair event will encourage many people to enjoy their free time. Therefore, I have identified the positive and negative impacts associated with the event, and I have incorporated the principles of sustainability and the triple bottom line approach in the analysis
