The complexities of the project has grown in abundance with the implication of the issues and the management of the factors. The advent of technologies had been helpful for aligning the work. The project of Deepwater Horizon has been selected for forming the implication of the alignment works and development of the oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico. The following assignment had included the utilization of the design structure matrix (DSM) and peer review evaluation on the topic for analyzing the work implication. The report would include the analysis of the project and the factors controlling the progress of the project.
The Design Structure Matrix (DSM) is a tool used for the communication of the complexity of the project using the analysis of the task dependencies and mapping complexities. The tool would help in identifying the complexities of the Deepwater Horizon Project and form the relationship between its activities. The following is the design structure matrix for the project,

According to the DSM, it is clear that the initialization would consider the information required for all activities, execution would include the information from the first three activities mentioned in table, monitoring would include the information form the last three activities mentioned in table, and controlling would include information from the last two activities mentioned in table.
The development of the Design Structure Matrix (DSM) for Deepwater Horizon Project would be largely dependent on the information collected from many peers. They have used their understanding and skills for providing the information and evaluating the complex relationship among the people. The list of the people with some information who have participated in providing information for making the DSM is given below,

The Deepwater Horizon Project was on its final exploratory phase for the exploratory drilling when the oil rig explode. It resulted in ceasing the works at Macondo well in Gulf of Mexico as the disaster took a toll of 11 lives. The following are the constraints and limitations for the project,
Scope-Trio Factor: The trio factors of cost, time, and quality are the main constraints for the project. The time, quality and cost boundary on the project would result in forming the specific alignment of the major resources and work limitation.
Machinery and Equipment: The limitation of the dependency on the machine and equipment would result in major factor alignment. The limitation of the knowledge of machinery and equipment handling would result in forming issues in managing the project.
Safety Issues: The safety issues in another major factor that would act as a constraint for the project. The various issues in the completion of the project had resulted in formation of the management works for aligning major issues.
The various constraints and limitations for the Deepwater Horizon Project and its explanation is given below,
The time, quality and cost boundary on the project would result in forming the specific alignment of the major resources and work limitation. |

The various issues in the completion of the project had resulted in formation of the management works for aligning major issues. |
The major reason for the failure of the Deepwater Horizon Project are,
Technical Problems: The technical factors for the project include the factors like oil extraction, refining, and transportation. The issues in the equipment had resulted in forming the issues in compilation of the work.
Accidents: The fire and the spilling of the oil was a major factor for the failure of the project. The explosion resulted in tolling 11 lives and wastage of 4.9 M barrel of oil.
Spilling of Oil Rig: The spilling of 4.9 M barrel of oil had resulted in forming the issues in listing of the issues and forming the implication and development.
The varieties of the project can be mitigated by the use of the following tools,
Safety Plan Development: A safety plan would be helpful for ensuring that the project is completed successfully.
Engineering Principles: The engineering principles would allow the alignment of the processes of engineering for better function development.
Contingency planning: the contingency planning would help in dealing with the issues and the formation of the effective work.
Hiring Contractor for crew: The external contractor would help in taking acre of the worker/human issues for the project.
Beta testing methods: It should be used for developing the successful compilation of the works and the listing of the activities.
The Deepwater Horizon Project was done for development of the oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico and its complexity is due to the fact that the work required developing the issues and identification of the improved work alignment. The works included in the development of the oil rig was extraction, refining, and transportation. The implication of the machine and equipment would result in major factor alignment and the complexity rose due to the limitation of the knowledge of machinery and equipment handling. It would result in forming issues in managing the project due to the probable technical factors of machine and equipment handling issues.
Conclusion
It can be concluded from the assignment that the development of the effective alignment issues for the project of Deepwater Horizon Project. The compilation of the work and the utilization of the DSM had helped in understanding the complexities of the project. According to the DSM the Initialization had considered the information required for all activities, execution had included the information from the first three activities mentioned in table, monitoring had included the information form the last three activities mentioned in table, and controlling had included information from the last two activities mentioned in table. The Deepwater Horizon Project had been very complex and the issues of Technical Problems, Accidents, and Spilling of Oil Rig had resulted in failure of the project.
