The events are an important motivator and progressively assist in the development of Pyeongchang’s Winter Olympics. It is formally known as XXII Olympic Winter Games, which is a global winter multi-sport event that normally held within 9 to 25 February 2018 in South Korea. Event management can be initiated and established on both national and international level. The attraction is considerably not a part of event management as it is proposed for experiences, culture, learning, and sporting activities (Rowe, 2018). In the following, an effort has been made to discuss the life cycle stage of Pyeongchang’s Winter Olympics and proposed recommendation related to the sustainability.
It is stated that for a long period, events play a very big part in society as well as the development of sports events and other attraction activities. The Pyeongchang’s Winter Olympics is a mega event, which delivers an opportunity for cultural and leisure experiences. Special consideration is been given to Pyeongchang’s Winter Olympics 2018, their formation stage, saturation point, and growth stage, which leads to increase in international growth population, leisure time, and development (Ahn, 2018). For the event to be successful, they have to build the strategy so that the event is well planned and meticulous. Any event planning on most occasions has a committee of experts that provides the direction as what needs to be done to achieve the event. The Olympic event has been driven by a committee of experts to achieve success. In the formation stage, they are forming a strategy of developing a tick list, safeguard that all bases are covered in achieving the success and make effective for the society. They are contributing to making some improvements on the rail and road networks, and venues. They are also making plans to connect with fans of Olympic and make a successful event. This attribution indicated to make sure that it is well equipped, safety should be considered, and participants should be protected (Park, 2018).
In this stage, planning a mega event such as Pyeongchang’s Winter Olympics is very challenging as with the help of experts, the planning and implementation can be much simpler and beneficial. There are many issues, which is always experienced even if they are common (Kim and Chung, 2018). Such issues are unpleasant weather, limited space, increasing cost, inducing a crowd, over-attendance, difficult layout, losing attention from the fans during the planning and implementation. It is stated that event planning will discuss various challenges that they have to deal with and solve as early as possible. It is quite satisfied that what needs to be done and easily dealing with the condition is based upon the beliefs and knowledge of the event management. The managers of the event-planning manager would be in a situation to plan in a very effective way and continue the event without facing any challenge (Lee, 2016).
The third life-cycle stage is the Staging, which is the main concern and it is the principal of all the activities in the coming event. It is seen that despite the assurance from the board, it seems like things are not going on the right track. The speed at which the work of construction is being undertaken is to a very small extent (Golovachev, Kolykhmatov and Shirokova, 2017). This is the main issue, which may generate challenges and interfere with the pre-activities of the Pyeongchang’s Winter Olympics. On the development of the needs and facilities, maintain hospitality, and plan the situation of the event if it goes unfavorable and easily attains success and growth. It has reached its finale, which is a truly amazing moment and attains respect and recognition from all the people who are in the event. However, in the PyeongChang, the Korean delegation was allied with the individuals from a neighboring nation. It is supporting cooperatively in a strong manner of the proficiency to develop peace and harmony. It carries an optimistic attitude in the overall situation of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics, as it aids in producing a commitment to the world. With the development of core themes of the Olympic Games, they should maintain mutual respect and recognition, where it presents in the event and make it very interesting (Kshetri and Rojas-Torres, 2018).
It is an important key towards the success of hosting and developing main events such as the Pyeongchang’s Winter Olympics, which is majorly dependent upon the capability of the city to trade off the perfections should be generated in the event and to continue delivering the dream of achieving the success (Yoon and Wilson, 2018). The future development can have immense potential for the host destination in the international context. They should develop the tourism product development and enhancement into the national as well as international community. They should host the development of the Pyeongchang’s Winter Olympics efficiently in future (Lee and Son, 2016).
Recommendation and Conclusion
The Pyeongchang’s Winter Olympics 2018 has moved towards sustainability. They have encouraged contributing positively by properly dealing with differences and challenges. At a quite extent, it has achieved success to manage the regulations and policies of the event. In the above part, the discussion has been made on the formation, growth, staging, and future development stage of the event. It is required to develop integrity and peace, which is the main goal of the Pyeongchang’s Winter Olympics. It has been requiring a great effort in making the event successful and attains the growth and event life cycle stage in the future. They should make sure the smooth continuation of the event in the future.
