Discuss about the Applications In Special Education And the Behavioral Sciences.
From the literature review, it is evaluated that the leadership coaching is a way by which an organization could train their leaders, managers, and executives for the accomplishment of the organizational task. Through this, a company could counsel their employees to eliminate work-related issues and enhance leadership effectiveness. In addition, executive coaching might found a variety of problems like resilience, mental health, stress, work well-being, and depression. It is because an organization is interested in improving the leadership effectiveness. It could also support to enhance the productivity of company in the least time (Mackey, and Gass, 2015).
With respect to the literature review, it is also addressed that leadership role efficiency could be determined as the leader confidence about their capabilities to organize the cognitive resource, motivation, and activities needed to effectively implement the specific task. In the current era, self-efficiency beliefs have been associated with the leadership domain and referred to as an individual self-efficacy. It is also stated that the leadership efficiency could be developed by considering the leadership coaching. In addition, it is also addressed that the leadership role efficiency could influence the productivity of the company in the least time and cost (Smith, 2015).
It is assessed that recent development in the theory of leadership recommends that the leadership is development within every organization and also enable the relational procedures. Relational leadership theory provides a view of leadership as a mutual influence procedure amid leaders and subordinates and organizational actor in which the organizational practices are shaped via interaction and dialogue. Relational leading is used as the need to be respectful, develop trust and for people to be competent to express themselves. It is also evaluated that confidence of leader can be effective to develop competence and ability in subordinates as it is key for relational leadership (Taylor, Bogdan, and DeVault, 2015).
It is identified that effect of leadership coaching indicates that formative evaluation may contribute to estimation and description of the result. It is also identified that some element of coaching procedure like a challenge, assessment, and support are the factors that may be worthy of this intention. Coach behavior is effective to provide the goal achievement instead of identifying the challenges and support to subordinates. This literature review also indicates that feedback should be used as a part of facilitative coach behavior (Silverman, 2016).
The key features of mixed research design are that it integrates both qualitative and quantitative research design in a single research study. Quantitative research design encompasses different elements such as posing a research question, gathering and assessing the data and interpreting the outcome. At the same time, qualitative research design involves the description of research design and conceptual aspects regarding research issues (Taylor, Bogdan, and DeVault, 2015).
There are different core characteristics of using mixed research design. These are discussed as below:
The core features facilitate an extremely comprehensive perspective on the key concept of engaging in mixed research design. The mixed research design is the approach that seeks to decline the weaknesses and draw the strength of qualitative and quantitative research methodology. Another feature is that mixed research methodology assesses the value of knowledge via qualitative data like perception, experience and factual aspect of the world in which people live (Silverman, 2016). Another key feature of mixed research design is that it involves the dualism such as qualitative via fact-based methodology and quantitative via subjectively based methodology.
The mixed research design is sufficient to address the research objective as it contains the characteristics of both qualitative and quantitative research design. This research design was practiced to gain the generalizing outcome. Investigator has used this design to facilitate the stronger evidence for a conclusion via union and validation of findings. This research design was also used to add insight and knowledge that might be missed only a single method. The investigator can respond a broader and more complete range of research question as they have not a restriction to use single method or approach (Ledford, and Gast, 2018).
This research design contains the words, pictures, and narratives which add the meaning to numbers and numbers could be practiced to add precision to narratives and words. This research design was also exercised due to containing the strength of both qualitative and quantitative research design. It is also stated that mixed research design uses both qualitative and quantitative research design together in order to complete the required understanding to inform the practices and theory (Smith, 2015).
But, at the same time, it is analyzed that in the mixed research design, an investigator needs to learn regarding multiple techniques and approaches and understand how to mix them feasible. It could be complex for a single investigator in order to carry out both quantitative and qualitative research, particularly if two or more approaches are projected to be used concurrently. There is also need of research team. This research design is time-consuming for the investigator. Methodological use contends that one should always implement either qualitative or quantitative paradigm of research (Ledford, and Gast, 2018).
The method used to collect data (e.g. focus group and questionnaires) is sufficiently justified and described. This article defines that a focus group is a collection of intentionally selected people who engaged in planned discussion. This technique is also intended to determine the leader’s perception regarding the Leadership Coaching, leader role-efficacy, and trust in subordinates. This research topic covers the interested area of the researcher as well as it is receptive and non- threatening for the researcher (Smith, 2015).
The key purpose of the focus group is to obtain a collective outcome. The focus group technique permits the member of the group in order to communicate and persuade each other during the discussion and also involves their perspectives and ideas regarding research concern. Investigators are using a small set of people in order to conduct the market research as compared to previous research. The results when using a smaller amount of respondents in focus group can be deeper and investigate the rational views of leaders regarding leadership coaching, leader role-efficacy and trust in subordinates. Certain modes of assessment used for focus group are radically distinguished from the transcript-based assessment (Silverman, 2016).
Participants in the focus group were more diverse as it was beneficial to gather the feasible information regarding leadership coaching, leader role-efficacy and trust in subordinates. There is a need for sensitivity and being self-aware so that leaders who may marginalize in the workplaces will be able to share their opinion and perception with the investigator. A focus group is a qualitative investigation as researcher asks with participants to give open-ended responses and also conveying them for sharing their feelings or thoughts (Mackey, and Gass, 2015).
The other key research type is a quantitative investigation. It is a more data-driven investigation that uses questionnaires to obtain the numerically based statistics. For focus group survey, an investigator has selected open-ended questionnaire. But, at the same time, questionnaire provides more general interpretation rather than the facts. A questionnaire is a research instrument that contains the set of questions with the intention of collecting the data from participants. In this way, one of key decision that could affect is how participants will respond the answer such as whether they should use open-ended questions or close-ended questions. For this research, an investigator has selected close-ended questionnaire in which researcher has a list of choices to choose the answer (Smith, 2015).
A probability sampling technique was used by the investigator in this research with the purpose of choosing the respondents. A probability sampling technique can be any technique of sampling that assesses certain kinds of random selection. Under the simple random sampling method, an investigator has applied some process that assures the different units in the population. It also facilitates equal probability of being the selection. Investigator has also used computers as the mechanism to develop the random number as the basis for random choice (Smith, 2015).
Simple random sampling is significant straightforward probability sampling strategy. It is a significant technique to select a sample from a large number of population with a wide range of intention. Under this technique, each member of the population is equally likely to be selected as part of the sample. It is also evaluated that the rationale behind simple random sampling is that it avoids the partiality from the selection process and should result in representative samples (Flick, 2015). The small number of sample size is required to implement the simple random sampling in a feasible way. Simple random sampling is easy to understand but complex to act in practices. Since, working with large sample size is not easy and it can be challenging to obtain a realistic sampling framework (Mackey, and Gass, 2015).
Simple random sampling is related to the minimum amount of sampling bias as compared to other sampling techniques hence this technique was selected. It is ease of developing a sample group from a large number of sample. The use of simple random sampling can be generalized from research findings due to the representativeness of simple techniques and low bias outcome (Silverman, 2016).
