Design innovation and thinking is a kind of methodology that solves the complex problems and provide the desirable solutions for the clients. The focused mindset and the creating action in preferred design is the key thinking that makes desired outcome for the user. Power of thinking along with the intuition, systematic reasoning, possible exploration, logic generation and the reach of imagination is the feasible need for the design thinking. In the business scenario, technological aspect along with the market opportunity and focused alignment in future is the strategic implementation of creating customer value and market reach.
In Module 1, the main discussion and alignment are based on the innovative way of making good entrepreneurship in business. This is a process to make good and dynamic progress in business and to make adoptive design thinking which is good for the business. Mitigating the risk situations is the key allocation for this process and that indulge with innovative alteration and development of business incubation. Management team risk, recruitment risk, product risk all these are can be mitigated by the effective realism of making engross quality and management. Financial individualism and relevant risk-taking is the key involvement of this dynamic process.
The innovations like create a mantra or jump to the next step are the superior understanding and synthesized formulation of services (Boons & Lüdeke-Freund, 2013). Meaning and money are quite similar to one another as the integrated anthropology and involvement of organization core situation are the trust and building set up for the interactive originality of the network. There are some innovative criteria like stability and sustainable business nurturing with the innovation of design thinking is the key business incubation that has been done in the traditional way of collection and that has been done in an ethical way.
In the design thinking process, I learned about the decision-making process in entrepreneurship. In the workshop, I learned about tools and process of decision-making. I would try in my future to apply in this in my future context that would help in bringing new products to the market. However, planning in business is helpful that can obtain resources in the future. In innovation, design process needs to be creative as it is related to the decision-thinking approaches. I learned about additional tools about innovation that would help me to learn about critical thinking process and rational problem-solving skills. I got knowledge about the insight and customer-centred approach to innovation. In the previous time, I thought that innovation is related to the drawing, fashion, sculpting and painting.
As stated by Boons et al. (2013), innovation is not about a critical and rational process that is a superior approach in problem-solving, however, it is related to the decision-making process and thinking capability. My knowledge in design process got richer and I learned about process model. I learned about empathy, depth, locate, prototype and test. In deep dive approach, I learned to discuss it with a team and it is helpful to break down this in some similar process to innovate about choices. In DT process, the previous slides talk about various thinking process and it is all about discovered and define the concept.
Our professor talked about research and insights about various thinking capabilities. Once I learned about the process model, I thought this about innovation and design. The first step is about problem solving and second step is about observation process. Entrepreneurship process deals with innovation and it is not about the invention of the new idea. 10.5% of the Australian adults in the population were engaged in running the new business (Martins, Rindova & Greenbaum, 2015). In my knowledge, Amazon business started with the idea of entrepreneurship and it had only 37,000 books. Each small business started with the entrepreneurship knowledge. There are about 250 courses available in the global contexts to learn about entrepreneurship.
My tutor talked about visualization and sense marketing. I wanted knowledge about ideation and it is related to the idea generation from brainstorming that is the generation of the prototype of concept. Once In worked within a team and on that team, there was a member who worked hard. He believed in visibility testing, in this process test assumption is only a way to implement the thinking process in broader context. In the design process, one of my professors talked about the attentiveness and value observation. In this process, interpretation and reflection of critical thinking are very much needed. However, one of the factors in innovation is ambiguity. Other factors in innovation are related to the experimenting with the failure and being wrong with the idea.
However, it is related to the idea of opportunities and problems in learning. Moreover, patience is needed in innovation process as an idea of learning will not come smoothly. In the workshop process, I learned about innovation process and one must possess the open-mindedness. It is clear subjectivity of peripheral vision that is related to the concept of cross-disciplinary process and it must be the view from the outside approach (Drucker, 2014). In this scenario, the visual working process is needed that makes the business successful.
In this scenario, the process of working in distance oneself will be helpful that would give the business details in user-centred approach. It is needed to provide and accept the other views in the team that would increase the shared vision approach. Moreover, I thought in the past that presentation is useful to draw the mind map of my thinking process in innovative design, however, I learned now that posters can be helpful to support the design and developing communication in creativity skills. In the workshop, we learned about the message of the poster and title making a section that would be helpful. In making the poster in commercial design, we learned about page layout, visual aids, sequencing and fonts.
According to me, design thinking is considered being a much needed approach to deal with the complex, ill-defined challenging situations, which will complement analytic perspectives as well as processes to prepare graduates in respect of their careers. I would also like to opine in regard to design theory that, there are theories that underpins each tool and there are various theories that assist in explaining the aspects of design thinking such as divergent and convergent thinking, philosophical worldview, action research, learning theory, logic of reasoning, as well as co-creation (Link, 2017). In this regard, it can be stated that the general pattern of reasoning states that in majority of situations related to problem solving, at least one of the equation elements cannot be found, and the more elements are not found, the more open the crisis situation is.
The design logic will be including the aspects of inductive reasoning, and deductive reasoning. In regard to the aspect of logic of reasoning in the absence of design states that there will occur problem situation, desired value, the aspects of ‘What’ and ‘How’ and finally the result. Let me cite an example in this regard, the problem situation might occur in respect of drunken violence as well as crime at a local nightclub street. The desired value, in this regard, might include the aspect of reduced drunken violence as well as crime at the local nightclub street. The aspect of what includes increased security, the aspect of how includes increased CCTV cameras as well as bouncers and the result should be related with additional rise in drunken violence as well as crime (Woodside, 2016).
I also would like to elucidate on the design thinking process that is moving through four mental states such as divergent thinking, convergent thinking, analysis as well as synthesis. The aspect of divergent thinking includes the development of alternatives to the present reality as well as creation of choices, the convergent thinking will be including the options to sort as well as making choices, the analysis will be including the patterns related to break-down and the aspect of synthesis will be associated with the process of re-assembling the patterns.
In regard to triple loop learning, I would like to state that there are three kinds of triple loop learning such as single loop learning, double loop learning as well as triple loop learning. In respect of single loop learning, there is the requirement for learning the rules as well as following them. Regarding the double loop learning, there is the requirement to learn about the rules, and then questioning them as well as changing them. In respect of triple loop learning, there is the requirement to educate oneself in respect of learning (Hagen, 2014).
In regard to the philosophical worldview, I would like to state that there exists subjectivism as well as objectivism. In regard to subjectivism, it can be stated that there exists the elements of interpretive, action research as well as methodology. In regard to objectivism, it can be stated that there exists positivism, as well as scientific process.
In respect of ascertaining the design thinking principles, I would like to state that there exist certain aspects such as to solve the problems that are considered being ‘wicked’, the design thinking principles that are human centered as well as empathetic, the design thinking principles that are related with the aspects of observation, visualization, prototyping, experimentation as well as active learning and the mindset of a beginner (Huggins, 2015).
I would like to state that in respect of brainstorming, it can be stated that there exists the aspects of right people, right challenge, right set of mind, right empathy, eight inspiration, right stimulus, right facilitation as well as right follow-up.
For getting further advice on how a design thinking problem could be found out, I would like to state that everything has been designed, everything can be considered to be a design problem, when interacting with others there is the need to be mindful of ‘problem spaces’ they are identifying, there is the requirement for trying to observe the ‘obvious’ as well as finding solutions regarding it and using the activities in the next certain workshops. In respect of visualization, the imagery in respect of envisioning possibilities will be getting used and they will be brought to life, information will be getting transformed to images.
There are two hemispheres related to the brain that includes the right brain as well as left brain. The right brain will be holding the visual or spatial holistic thinking, and the left brain will be holding a deductive as well as sequential reasoning (Furman, 2017). Moreover, in respect of visualization, I would like to state that it should be kept simple, the problems or tasks should be broken down into elements such as what, how much, where, when, how and why. There is the need for thinking in metaphors as well as analogies, photographs need to be used, and there should be the aspects of storyboarding, creating personas, telling stories as well as guided imagery.
In this workshop, we learned about the innovation process in value chain analysis. In this scenario, tutors taught me in describing the categories and activities of organisation’s value chain. In this process, organisation’s analysis is important with the management’s scenario. Industry domain and the idea of industry’s value chain are important with the innovation (Galindo & Mendez, 2014). Innovation and entrepreneurship design can be changed with the concept of the value chain that facilitates the diagnosis competencies and capabilities. Identification of resources is necessary as it is related to the sustainable competitive advantage.
Each set of activities in value chain should offer value to the new organisation as it is related to the costs of the organisation. I learned about the adding value in the value chain and the process is quite dissimilar what I used to think in the past. Suppliers supply raw materials, they also provide manufacturing goods and they also distribute the products. In addition, suppliers also sell products to the market is aiming to market research with R&D process. Each of the section can add value with adding cost to the company.
Moreover, the total value can profit margin to the organisation. I also learned that value chain process does not end in suppliers; it can go to the retailer’s section as well. Promotion, market research, design and sourcing to the materials all are added with this. The value network is related to the supplier’s value chain and it also consists of the organisational value chain with channels value chain and customers value chain (Amini, 2012). Tutors also told us that value chain model needs research and it is related to the both qualitative and quantitative designs.
In this workshop, we learned about various research techniques and we learned about designing questionnaire. In the research process, we learned about both qualitative and quantitative research techniques. According to Ya-Rong (2017), qualitative research is about the observation of the respondents and researchers can take data from interviews. On the other side, the researcher can take data from surveys in quantitative research, in quantitative research; it is dealt with measuring numerical data. In collecting primary data, observations can be effective tools, in this regard, we learned about recording, observing and analysing the people’s behaviour. I know it previous time that qualitative questionnaire is set based on open-ended questions and quantitative questionnaire is based on mainly close-ended questions. Researchers can take ethnographic approaches in setting the questions.
In respect of evaluating huge amounts of qualitative data, I would like to state that there is the requirement to do the processing of organizing the huge amount of rich data into meaningful segments. There is the requirement to examine, categorize, tabulate, test, or otherwise doing the recombination of the evidences in respect of having the ability for drawing conclusions that are considered being meaningful from the data (Tidd, 2015).
Also, in respect of concept development, it can be stated that there is the requirement to select the best ideas from the earlier tools relating to design thinking. I would also like to state that there is the requirement to evaluate the aspect of concept development through the use of criteria regarding customers as well as businesses. I also feel that, carrying out ‘combinational play’ will be associated with the aspect of combining the themes from earlier tools regarding design thinking for the creation of discrete concepts.
In designing framework of learning assumption and contrasting set up of new growth analysis provide the value generating growth idea and long-term entrepreneurial setup for reaching the customer incorrect time. I have learned conductive interference and commitment of further warrant in a product. Innovation process and experimental type is the testing section for me and I have learned the actual market analysis from this workshop (Cui et al. 2017). I have a good knowledge about the business idea and I can determine the possible design and learning process that provide the improvement and engage more study involved it.
In workshop 9, the communication process is represented as the interpretation of design methods. In case of complex response mannerism, the designed formations are the key exploration that can create communication and assumptions. In the judgmental procedure and consumer engagement new product and the representation of that product is the key understanding and aesthetics behavior of cultural association for the user. The probable relationship between various fields of communication and the presented mannerism of argument is the key aspects in this workshop (Becker, Kugeler & Rosemann, 2013). I have learned the representation and product definition and defection in this workshop. I also have learned the passive representation of marketing and product culture.
In workshop 10, the financial capital and set of activities are the market innovation process that had been discussed in that week. There are different concepts and investment process that provide the internal and external finance sourcing in this week. I have learned a lot about financial marketing and entrepreneurship and the stock market (Berge, Bjorvatn & Tungodden, 2014). Personal fund sources and the inheritance of wealth is the key aspects that I have precede on in this workshop this pre-requisite funds and debt concept is clear to me.
In case of introductory designing of course in a new project, certain challenge and supportive reflections are the combinations of innovativeness and interaction. In the engineering section knowledge maintenance, imagination with the blend of innovativeness is the key supporting reflection and combination of that process. I have learned the innovative way of product weblog, wiki environment and have the clear idea about the portfolio thinking, these are the programs that provide thinking approach and learning experience to the new business procedure (Polonsky & Waller, 2014). Designing of the project and real product prototype is the clear observation that I have learned and gained the useful knowledge over this.
Future market and dynamic firm expansion is the key growth correct enforcement in this workshop. Future business protection and how the business manner can be emphasis properly so that clear cut results can be derived are the key aspects of this week. I have learned about the expansion of business growth with the dynamic firm distribution and managing external finance consideration (Wirtz et al. 2016). I have gone through the whole week material and understand the difference between average growth rate and distribution is firms, as these are probable directions that can capitalize my strength in business by the understanding of future business settlement.
Action Plan
In the last few weeks, I learned about designing the innovation and doing the research with preparing the questionnaire. In the next six weeks, I want to learn about entrepreneurship in a greater sense.
Reading plan:
I want to read a book in each week about entrepreneurship and designing concept. I hope this would help me in future to shape my design and business concept. After my work and study hours, I would like to read books in a new concept, entrepreneurship and self-help.
Taking a tutor:
I would like to take training from a particular tutor who can help me in solving my queries. In my childhood, I took tuition from one of my teachers who lived in our area. He did PhD in marketing and management. I would like to make him my tutor to solving the designing issues.
Communication and conversation:
In next six months, I want to improve my knowledge in designing and I want to develop my research skills as well. In this scenario, it is very much needed to improve my communication skills that would help me to inform people about my presentation.
