Best Presentation On Project Management Plan And Lessons Learned

Key Points of Discussion

I consider Whats junk project management plan presentation as the best presentation to my view in comparison to other teams. This is because the team which conducted the presentation covered all the necessary aspects of a presentation. These aspects were witnessed within the presentation in the following scenarios:

• The presentation was simple and easy to understand and interpolate. This is since the key concepts in the discussed management plan could be easy to understand and interpret as the team employed simple and flowing vocabulary.
• The presentation possessed a systematic logical flow. This is observed form the logical flow of ideas within the presentation which frequently introduced the following concept ton be discussed within the presentation.
• a powerful  introduction or presentation opening. The team showed a good project introduction with lots of strength which attracted the attention of the listeners or observers. This resulted to observers and listeners being very curious to listen to the rest of the remaining contents of the presentation.
• Confidence form the visibility. This group vividly showed a lot of confidence from their faces during the entire duration of presentation. This posed a good positive impact on the viewers and listeners as they were made to believe on the content of the presentation by the strong voices from the team.

Strengths of the team in relation to content of discussion

• Logical and systematic flow of ideas and concepts. The team’s presentation was accompanied by a logical and systematic flow of ideas and concepts which coincidentally acted as an introduction to the preceding topic or idea of discussion within the presentation. This played a very important role in aiding clear understanding to observers and listeners.
• Simple understanding of the project ideas and content. The content of the presentation was easy to understand since the team applied simple vocabulary during explanation and presentation of their key ideas making it simple to actualize there ideas and content
• The project presentation utilized limited but relevant amount of words and slides in expressing the presentation content. This generally led to a good summary of the entire presentation which eventually resulted to reduced boredom to the observers and listeners. In addition, the art using a reduced amounts of words resulted to less confusion in understanding the presentation content among listeners.

Weaknesses of the team in relation to discussion content

• Lack of a clear summary (Netherton, 2018a). The presentation generally had a weak summary of the ideas discussed within it.
• Insufficient and total lack of recommendations and steps of action. The entire presentation lacked vivid steps or channel of actions to be adopted in support to the team’s suggestions.

 Strengths of the team in relation to the method of presentation

• Strong and adequate verbal skills. This mainly involves skills shown by the team relating to the intensity of speech, speech rate and inflection of voice. These attributes of verbal skills were witnessed on the team during presentation and aided in sending strong messages verbally.
• Confidence visibility. This is witnessed in the group from there body movements, body gestures and eye contacts which aided in clear sending of messages and information to the audience.
• Visually appealing. This helped in maintaining and attracting the audience interests as they explained there ideas using pictures.

 Weaknesses of the team in relation to the method of presentation

• Inadequacy in strength of presentation opening or introduction. The team did not exhibit an adequate vigor and power in introducing the presentation
• Body language. A few members of the team did not express the most reliable mode of body language as they rigidly stood at the presentation podium without slight movement.

During my next presentation, I will improve and provide a motivating and compelling introduction remarks relating to the importance of project management plan. A vivid and simple information on the background of the project management plan is essential within the initial periods of the project presentation. In addition, it is also important to include in my next presentation an identification of major key points of discussion that forms the main concern in the project management plan presentation. These key points include challenges and issues arising within the project together with their relevant solutions in form of conclusion and recommendation at the end of the discussion. This should too consume limited amount of time just as the introduction.

Nevertheless, it is important to apply the lessons learnt from the strengths and the weakness that were observed from the four groups’ presentation. This included the aspect of adopting body language to the presentation. It is essential to possess broad communication language from both the body and spoken language (Netherton, 2018b). This body language is quite effective when combined with stage movements rather than staying rigidly at the stage. This movements helps in providing impression to the listeners of me holding the concept of project management within me.

It is also essential to avoid the common behavior of witnessed within some individuals of memorizing key points contained project plan as it gives an impression that the presenter lacks the general knowledge on what he or she is talking about. I will adopt in my next presentation a tonal variation and rate of speaking. This is easily achieved through stage movement and gesturing as it forms a better way of hiding low peaks of the presentation.

Quality control

Control of quality in relation to the closure of the project mainly aims at comparing the project output to the expected objectives of the project. This achieved through ensuring that all requirements of the project are attained and the criteria of success is too achieved. All responsibilities of project stakeholders after its completion must be assessed. In addition the project financial audit and performance must be prepared and evaluated for documentation. Nevertheless, all incorporated parties efforts must be recognized and appreciated for their hard work

Another sole intension of quality control during the project closure process is mainly recognizing new relevant experience and knowledge relevant to future similar projects relating to water production and utilization. These lessons and examination should be conducted across the entire project stages. On completion of this analysis, a project closure report is generated which contains a clear summary of the objectives and goals of the project that are delivered, information originating from the stakeholders. These roles are key responsibilities of the project manager. The manager can there after utilize the outcome of this report in gaining and validating the closure of the project to the parties or individuals that funded the same project.

The entire information and data utilized and derived from the just concluded water project should documented and stored safely away alteration since it can be still utilized as reference source for future emerging issues or consultations to other projects. These activities are mandated to the project manager where he is expected to come up with the project document management system applied in storing utilized project document. These documents should be safely kept during the entire stages of the project rather than at the project closure. Very lastly, the entire team of the project should celebrate for the success of their efforts applied in the whole water project scheme.
