Linux is also the leading operating system on servers and other big iron systems such as mainframe computers, and the only OS used on the best supercomputers.
Microsoft Windows is a collection of various families of graphical OS or operating system, each of them are created and sold by the organization namely, Microsoft. The most active families of Windows involve the Windows Embedded and Windows NT [1]. These families of Windows always include the subfamilies like the Windows CE or Windows Embedded Compact or the Windows Server. Windows 9x, Windows Phone and Windows Mobile are the dysfunctional families of Windows.
The operating system or OS is the software of system, which help to give a friendly background within the computer and the user [9]. The operating system of Windows utilizes one particular option of configuration for a single database. This option helps for the maintenance of a specific link within the computer and its user. The Linux operating system is somewhat different from the Windows operating system. Linux never has one configuration of database. The files of user configuration are kept in the concealed directories in a particular home folder [3]. Several computer users always prefer the utilization of the operating system of windows.
The major technical feature of the operating systems mainly includes the login feature. In the operating system of Windows, the feature of login for the users is mainly as an administrator. The viruses and the malwares due to this affect the users of the windows [2]. In the Linux operating system, the administrator change by the function of root and this helps for the maintenance of the system security for any computer. The users get the access of root function. In the operating system of Linux, any computer user is a normal user. Passwords are the most important and significant feature of the Linux operating system.

The most significant disadvantages of the Windows operating system is the lack of security. This particular operating system is extremely vulnerable and can be easily hacked by intruders or hackers [10]. The second disadvantage of Windows operating system is the slower speed of the processor.
The major disadvantages of Linux operating system is the lack of availability. The second advantage of this operating system is same as the Windows [1]. The processing time is slow. The less availability of Linux operating system is the major reason that Windows is more popular and utilized by all users.
The Linux and the windows operating systems have enormous scope for improvements. Technology is increasing day by day and this has become an important challenge for the entire technical world [4]. The major improvements for the operating systems mainly include vast distribution for both the operating systems. For the Linux operating system, the major distributions are the Linux Mint and Ubuntu. However, Windows operating system is the easiest operating system amongst the rest. This particular operating system is extremely user friendly and can be utilized by almost all users. Linux on the other hand, lacks user friendliness. It is tough for all users to utilize this operating system [8]. The distributions can be improved for Linux operating system and this will be a major help to the entire operating system. When these improvements will be incorporated, it is in evident to mention that Linux will be considered as one of the best operating systems.
