The ethics are supposed to be vital for the growth and development of any of the organization concerned as these helps in increasing the profits for the organization in the right direction. This research paper critically reflects the issues between the execution of the project and the work processes between Richard Hoffman and John. Richard was provided a three-year expatriate assignment in Venezuela as a technical liaison and environmental protection manager. There were the lack of communication and few other issues between Richard nod John due to which the assignment got suffered. This paper will help in highlighting the issues reflected throughout the case study as well as suggestions and recommendations rate also provided to Richard in order to resolve these issues.
The role of a Human Resource manager in an organization is considered to be more important for the development and growth of that particular organization concerned. In order to enhance the effectiveness of the business process, it becomes mandatory to understand the desired requirements of the business processes and act as per the norms (Armstrong & Taylor, 2014). This particular case effectively reveals the fact that miscommunication between Richard and John was supposed to be the vital factor which crucially affected the execution of the entire project along with the business processes concerned (Aswathappa, 2013). Lack in the effective communication processes is supposed to be vital and this lowers down the efficiency and the effectiveness of the business processes of any of the organization concerned (Beardwell & Thompson, 2014). It has been seen that the development of the effective and efficient relationships between two of the persons helps in lowering down the issues that come while the execution of the work processes. In this scenario, the communication gap was misplaced between these two persons and this may be due to several other reasons such as the language used by Richard was French, rather than going for English which is widely used and accepted as the official language (Brewster & Hegewisch, 2017). In a corporate world, English is used as the most preferred and acceptable language and therefore, it was intended for Richard to use this language as it would have increased the reliability of the receiver (Brewster, 2016). The use of the communication processes helps in developing relationships between the employees associated with the organization and it is therefore considered as vital to increasing the desired profits for the organization. The case reveals that Richard Sent John an email in the French language in order to have a stronger relationship between two of them as to execute the work processes in most effective and generic way (Brewster, 2016). Moreover, the email highlighted the goals associated with the organization that needs to be carried out along with the execution of the business process and it was also sent to the management throughout the objective section.
Moreover, after several months there was no response to his e-mail from John’s side which is very bad as this significantly affects the execution of the entire work processes concerned. It is evident to know that there should be the rectification of the issues prevailing within the work processes as to increase the reliability and effectiveness of the entire project concerned. Considering, no responses from John, Richard did not try to get in direct touch with him as to understand what the matter was and a reason for his no response, but Richard did not enquire John. The lack of sincerity is reflected from Richard’s part after getting no responses from John regarding the execution of the concerned project (Budhwar & Debrah, 2013). Moving to the next issues, was the actual need for collaboration and cooperation between these two as this would have helped in evaluating the desired success for the project and would have helped in bringing up the success of the entire organization (Chelladurai & Kerwin, 2017). The business processes and he ethics needs to be followed as to enhance the communication processes. The no response and the lack of the communication processes between these two people critically hampered the execution of the entire project effectively (Jackson, 2014). It is evident to know that John’s response was blandly when Richard asked him between his meetings regarding the response to his email and this evaluated the fact that John was not pretty much interested in having collaboration with Richard regarding the execution of the project and the work concerned. These are the certain issues evaluated from the case which needs to be reduced as to increase the reliability of the entire organization concerned.
Considering the issues reflected within the case, there are few of the most effective suggestions that can be explained to Richard in order to bring out the positive outcomes for all his projects. Identification of the issues and bringing up the crucial points regarding the completion of the project should be done (Marchington, 2016). There are a number of ways in which the relationship between two persons regarding the work processes can be developed and this needs to be followed by Richard. Moreover, on the other hand, the formulation of effective strategies along with the senior members would have helped in enhancing the effectiveness of the entire matter concerned which can finally bring out positive outcomes for the organization concerned. After getting in touch with John at the car park, Richard realized the fact that he has done too late to speak on this delayed matter with his team mates as well as to his mentor (Morgeson, 2013). The speaking about this particular delayed caused by John to his mentor would have helped him in saving the time and searching out some other ways to carry out with the project efficiently. There were loud disagreements regarding the matter, but the thing is that this would have done earlier in order to complete the execution of the project successfully. On the other hand, it is seen that the delay in providing the reply to the words or email of Richard has effectively lowered down the moral level of the entire team mates (Purce, 2014). For any of the firm, it becomes more important to find out the new ways to carry out the effectiveness of any project or the work processes by being ethical to the organization, but the actions and responses as provided by John significantly reflected as him to be unethical towards Richard and the matter evaluated by him. The discussions with the project managers are supposed to be of great importance as it helps in rectifying what needs to be done in order to bring out the desired positive results for the concerned organization (Storey, 2014). It is evident to know that the disagreements on a particular topic somewhat help in suggesting the desired way to resolve the issues coming between the execution of any of the project concerned.
Moreover, as per the ethics are concerned, there should be transparency regarding the discussion on a particular matter which will help in evaluating the desired needs of the firm (Riley, 2014). This case critically reflects that the effective suggestions from the mentor of Richard were required when there was no response from John in reply to the e-mail of Richard. The gap between the responses was very large that significantly affected the working processes and there were other issues also such as the lack of effective communication which needs to be reduced with the help of formulation of the strategic measures concerned (Reiche, 2016). There was a sense of injustice and a lack of fairness was there within Richard and this lowered down his morale too. Moreover, the consultation between Richard and his mentor proved to be vital and this was not done effectively regarding the “no response” situation from John (Sparrow, 2016). Therefore, the suggestions from the mentor and the project managers should be taken in order to execute the business processes and to provide the desired elevation in the execution of the business procedures concerned.
Conclusion
There were issues regarding the execution of the three-year expatriate assignment and this has been effectively reflected throughout this paper. The primary motive of this paper is to bring out the issues that prevailed between Richard and John as well as to highlights those problems. The paper critically highlights the issues and also advice Richard regarding the ways of resolving these issues/. Development of the effective means of communication with his mentor along with the other project manager is one of the vital suggestions that can boost the execution of the work processes for the concerned assignment.
