The smart university campus design gets popularity gradually due to its advanced network infrastructure. Moreover, it provides an integrated digital platform to connect people and applications through internet-connected devices and improves security standards across the campus. Here, the smart university campus-related smart residence for student accommodation has been considered. To develop this design within the university campus, the student protection gets enhanced easily as it maximizes the learning resources, and the students can easily get a scope to avail digital learning facilities with advanced technologies.
To design this smart residence for student accommodation, there are some security concerns if it is not monitored properly. Similarly, it creates problems in security if the connection setup is not reliable. Without intelligent technologies, the university’s smart student accommodation system can fail to protect the students and their assets. Personal data needs to be collected according to the situational awareness in the smart campus. Once the data are collected from various resources associated with the smart residence system of student campuses, then lots of privacy issues may appear.

According to this article, the new student data fails to synchronize promptly. It is quite difficult to carry out the data exchange status effectively within the student hostel. As a result, it raises issues in financial revenue and creates problems in expenditure loopholes.
Once the teaching and learning interaction comes to a single platform, effectively sharing information is important to run this smart-based network. Lack of autonomous learning environment under this smart hostel system may introduce many duplicate data in a complex system. Only the IoT-based system is not enough to handle the safety of the students as there is an issue in exchanging the information. Therefore, the assessment track must avoid manually copying study materials from electronic-based courseware.
By using the adaptive software development methodology, the IoT based smart student accommodation system can be enhanced. Adaptive IoT allows the users to use the cloud computing-based features and virtualization to avail of all the facilities under the smart accommodation system without compromising the security features. By using software methodology, the students can interact with each other and easily build awareness by collecting the adaption operations of the IoT-based system. The adaptive software development technologies are not limited to realising the importance of the learning activities, it also enables real-time context awareness and eliminates crime from campus. This context-aware System under this adaptive software development approach is useful to analyse the current situation and will allow the students to exchange their information with a data access control mechanism.

In this paper, the open data platform has been proposed that is useful to define smart campus easily under people working environment. It also creates obstacles in designing smart building campuses for student accommodation systems. This difficulty is not limited to the security standards; it also deals with the technology adaption issue as the students from different regions join universities from various educational backgrounds. Therefore, many of them may fail to access the educational software under the newly proposed smart residential accommodation system for students. In most cases, they are not aware of the smart IoT campus design, leading to a communication gap between the administration and the students. Similarly, mishandling of IoT components may raise security concerns for the IoT based student hostel system. In severe cases, criminal activities cannot be handled even after successfully installing CCTV and other associated technologies.
V-Model (Verification and Validation Model) is useful for designing the IoT-based smart campus under the software requirement specifications. In the software requirement specification step, the user expectations, such as communicating with the expert users and end-users, can minimize the learning gap between the students. Similarly, the requirements of a real-time system under the smart IoT-based solutions can provide support to meet the infrastructure with sample datasets, and it will be helpful to enhance the scalability.

This paper proposes the integrated software service platform to adjust the adaptively proposed smart-university residence system. The design of a smart campus is impossible to perform deep research on the situational awareness of the campus. This hybrid model and integrated framework allow the users to recognize the situational awareness of the current environment and optimize the tasks related to the smart student administrative system. This practice mainly uses the agile-based SCRUM technology and concept of validation model used to analyse the model and justify the proposed design, respectively. Using this integrated software methodology, the students can automatically adapt the current environment and provide accurate service signals such as checking the availability of the learning materials of the university libraries. Besides this, a smart, automated student tracking process is also involved within the smart residence system of student campus to track a student easily in case of emergency help. Similarly, the automatic tracking software tool allows users to seek benefits under this hybrid approach.
Besides this, education-based IoT security can improve the learning program by engaging in a safe and secure environment. It is required to utilize CCTV cameras where safe environments can be done effectively. Immediate action is required to run the surveillance system, and it will be helpful to improve the security standard and protect the student assets with ease. CCTV cameras are utilized effectively to certify the safety of the students to watch the educational system and the security of the individuals. By involving this software methodology, it is easier to track the real-time activities that may happen due to the intruders’ involvement.

In this paper, all the campus violence and possible criminal activities have been paid attention to throughout the session. This paper mainly focused on the cybersecurity issues in the IoT-based smart campus where the smart residence for the campus students had been highlighted efficiently.
All the activities related to the campus can happen quite often, and it hampers students’ personal lives. Free movement at night in campus residences without any protection become a major threat for them. In this article, criminal activities and unnecessary violence are taken into account here to pay urgent attention due to a lack of security and safety issues within the campus residence. Concerning the security measures, the closed-circuit television is involved in security patrol. The software installation requirements are gathered here, such as functional smart-card, adequate lighting, a security guard on the post, and security alarms. However, the provision of CCTV cameras and lack of weapons are detected here.
In this paper, two different universities are taken where the University B involved the weapon detector system access control mechanism and security alarms, CCTV monitoring system, and University A provided all these security standards along with weapon detection system. However, University B provided an extra security layer through a strong encryption method, and they involved the advanced iterative software methodologies into this IoT-based campus design. As a result, the management got scope to check the proposed security standards’ validity. In University A, they involved the traditional software methodologies, and it failed to provide enough protection to the residential smart student accommodation section.
Rico-Bautista, D. W. (2019, November). Conceptual framework for smart university. In Journal of Physics: Conference Series (Vol. 1409, No. 1, p. 012009). IOP Publishing.
In this paper, the latest technologies can be used to improve smart devices and enhance the future improvements for this smart campus system. By involving the SCRUM process parameters, the smart residence for the students within the university campus can be improved easily.
Agile Software Development Model is useful to design the users to support the new smart devices within the IoT based university campus residence management system. Under this software development approach, the integrated platform provides an ample number of facilities, and it helps to minimize the project complexity within the shortest period. The infrastructure of the proposed IoT-enabled student accommodation system can be designed to support all the advanced smart devices under the IoT network, where the integration of the newly proposed system can be incorporated with the existing campus system. Thus, it becomes flexible for the students to manage the learning resources, and they can access any tasks by attending the Sprint Planning meeting from a virtual network. Integrating video cameras and smart boards under this agile technology can provide facilities to refine the schedule on time. This use of smart devices is an effective method to improve group learning activities by engaging team management and product development schemes.
Conclusion
In this assignment, 5 articles are chosen according to the topic IoT-based Smart campus design. However, each article has explained the issues in designing the smart residence for student accommodation and effective solutions. However, each paper describes how to define the different software methodologies to meet the security standards and mitigate privacy issues without compromising the quality of services. By performing deep research, different security concerns have been gathered, and then, respective software development methodologies have been engaged to revise the existing design easily.
