The theory clearly states that the age bracket 5-12 is one of the most important ones in the life cycle of the individuals since it is in this particular age bracket that the majority of the cognitive development of the children takes place (Black et al., 2017). It thus becomes all the more important for the parents, family members and others to provide special care, attention and take diverse initiatives so that the cognitive development of the children takes place in the normal manner. However, it is seen that even in the present times the parents as well as the educational institutions are still taking the help of the traditional or age old methods for the process of imparting the relevant kind of education to the children and thereby bring about their cognitive development (Trawick-Smith & Smith, 2014). Having said this there are various kinds of limitations of the use of these traditional methods and it is seen that mental or the cognitive development of the children happens only to certain through the use of these methods. This can have lifelong effect on the concerned individuals since the kind of cognitive skills as well as knowledge that the individuals receive at this particular stage is likely to stay with them for the rest of their lives. Therefore, it can be said that there is a need to development of the kind of methods as well as practices that are being used for the process of bring about the mental and the cognitive development of the children.
The use of creativity can help the parents as well as others to provide the right kind of guidance to the children so that they are being able to develop their mental abilities in the best possible manner. Taking the help of the concept of creativity the parents as well as the educational institutional can come up with better games, teaching exercises and others for bringing about the mental and the cognitive growth or development of the children (Barrett, 2017). The results obtained through the use of these traditional methods have very limited value and thus there is a need for the use of the concept of creativity to enhance the level of physical growth or development of the children (Odena, 2016). Taking the help of the concept of creativity, the parents as well as the educational institutions need to design the kind of activities and exercises that are likely to increase the physical development of the children. This is important since if the children are not being able to attain the desired or the required amount of growth during their early childhood years then it can impede their later physical development in a significant manner.

The use of the process of creativity is likely to help the educational institutions to change or modify the curriculum that they are following within their framework but at the same time is also likely to help them to provide better quality of education to the students especially during their early years (Johnson & Watts, 2018). It is significant to note that the early years of the life of the children are most important formative years and the knowledge or the information that they acquire during this particular point of time helps them in a significant manner to understand the things that are being taught to them in the later part of their life (Roberts-Holmes, 2015). One of the most common problems that the students face during the early part of their lives is the fact that they are being unable to relate to the things which are being taught to them (Smidt, 2017). The major reason for this is the fact that the educational institutions focus on the theoretical perspective only (Cremin et al., 2015). Thus, the various educational institutions can incorporate the concept of outdoor learning within their educational curriculum which is likely to help the concerned students to have exposure to the theoretical as well as the practical standpoint of the things that are being taught to them. In addition to this, recent researches have also suggested that the use of this particular method for the process of educating the young learners has delivered better results in comparison to the older or the traditional methods (Cremin et al., 2015).
The use of various kinds of audio as well as visual aids for the process of imparting education to the young learners is also likely to help them in a significant manner. Chappell et al. (2016) are of the viewpoint that the young learners learn in a much better when they are being able to see the things that are being taught to them. In addition to these, the educational institutions taking the help of the concept of creativity can incorporate within the framework of their curriculum diverse kinds of activities, assignments as well as exercises which will help the students to demonstrate in a practical manner the things which are being taught to them in the educational institutions (Weissman & Hendrick, 2014). It is significant to note that there are various individuals who are against the use of the concept of creativity within the educational system and are also of the viewpoint that traditional educational system followed by the educational institutions had yielded better results and thus it should not be altered (Weissman & Hendrick, 2014). However, Dezuanni et al. (2015) are of the viewpoint that the use of the process of creativity is likely to improve the entire educational system but at the same time are likely to cover up the drawbacks of the contemporary educational system as well.
To conclude, the use of the concept of creativity within the educational framework but at the same time for the process of early childhood development of the children is likely to provide various kinds of benefits.
