Discuss about the Business Intelligence for Qualitative, Descriptive and Explanatory.
Expert system generally refers to the computer system that is associated with emulating the ability of decision making by a human expert. The reason that lies behind the designing of the expert system is for the purpose of solving various types of complex problems. This is done by reasoning through the bodies of knowledge which is mainly represented as if then rules rather than representing through the conventional procedural code (Kidd, 2012). The Expert system is associated with making use of specialized knowledge in order to solve various types of problems which generally occurs at different levels of a human exert. Human expert is someone who has special type of knowledge or special some special skills which are generally known to the peoples or is available to them. The experts are capable of solving the problems which most of the peoples are not able to solve at all. While building a boat the time that which is generally required is having a smaller amount of importance than the emphasis on the quality which is extremely high so as to provide exceptional comfort and luxury to various users (Muthukaruppan & Er, 2012). The system would also be including the electronic and hydraulic system which provides the controlling ability and maneuver the vessels as well in difficult conditions. This would be done with less stress or no stress at all.
The expert system consists of knowledge which can be an expertise or knowledge. This is generally obtainable from the knowledge persons, books and magazines. The expert system is skilled to do functions related to computational, qualitative, descriptive and explanatory functions. The expert system consists of an advantage which is it is very easy to use and in a process this is associated with boiling down to a number of questions and answers which generally operates between the user and the computer program. By this way the system would be associated with receiving information which are relevant. This would be done not only from the user but also from various external source of the knowledge which might include the spreadsheets and the other calculation tools as well (Montalvo et al., 2013). It has been seen that the reputation of the boat manufacturer often acts as one of the factor which determines the final selling price of the boat and production of the order. This is done in order to proceed with the completion of the designs and constructing it. The common practice of the manufacturers mainly includes the selection of the individual items of an equipment from the various recommendations which are stated in the catalogs. This may be well weighted so as to state all the items for the purpose of safeguarding the strength and output of the power. But this might be unnecessarily heavy as well as expensive (Kumar et al., 2012). This has been associated with the capability of increasing the final cost of the production. This is mainly designed for the inland yachts which are often used in the small diesel and the petrol engines.
While conversely in the selection process of eth under-sized and underpowered components might lead to breakdown at a frequent rate along with the early replacements and endangering of the lives and safety of the peoples on the vessels during extreme situations. The boat manufacturers are also effected by the expenditures due to labor costs while installing of the oversized equipment’s. Expert System would be helping in the choosing, customizing and calculating the various materials and equipment’s that are required for the purpose of safety, comfort and the cost for controlling (Chen et al., 2012). The Expert system might be affecting the costs which would be responsible for providing the final product where the comfort and capabilities are maintained as required. The system would also make the production smooth as well as efficient.
The recreational craft where the application of the expert system is possible includes the sailing yachts, planning motor boats and displacement-hull motor boats. The main reason lying behind the inspiration for the creation of this system is that the there exists no such detailed literature which describes the problems in the designing of the yachts and the manufacturing process of the Polish market. There exists no such strong demand regarding the materials which is associated with presenting the practical knowledge in the field of designing the yachts and manufacturing.
The Expert system which was been constructed for the application of the PC-Shell computer tool is a tool which is independent and has been done for the purpose of constructing the Expert system. This is associated with combining the various method which are responsible for solving the problems and the representation of the knowledge (Seto et al., 2012). This can be used in any other field so it can be stated that the Expert System has a wide amount of applications. The main reason lying behind the predispose of the PC-Shell is for the purpose of solving various problems related to the diagnostic of the data, classification of the data and interpretation of the data. By making use of the Expert System it is possible to boil down the supply of various facts along with the other type of information. Depending on this the presentation of the answers is done by the experts.
The knowledge base mainly consists of the rules and various types of facts. This is very much necessary for the purpose of solving the various problems in a specific filed (Reid et al., 2012). This fact is responsible for representing the various relationship that exists between certain types of objects and is also characterized by different types of features. The knowledge base might include objects like the displacement for the motor boats or the planning hull power boats.
Another feature of the Expert system which is very much important is that it is possible to parameterize the knowledge base. This solution can be used for the purpose of making the dynamic changes in the selected value of the knowledge base. This generally occurs without any type of changes in the source code of the knowledge base. This can be better understood by making use of an example where parameterization can be better understood is when a testing of the values of some of the indicator is done (Pokhrel et al., 2013). This testing might include the way of choosing the right bow and the stern thrusters mainly for the vessels which may depend on the hulls length at the water. Along with this the value of the threshold also might vary depending upon several cases. The Expert system was generally built as one of the application of the PC-Shell. The system can also be considered as a hybrid system of the array architecture. This type of structure helps a lot in solving different types of problems and this is mainly done by making use of multiple sources of knowledge.
The typical source of knowledge presented in the array system of the architecture mainly acts as the knowledge base. Along with this the Expert system which has been discussed above has the capability of using any number of knowledge source (Chen et al., 2012). A reference of the source might be used in the main program when an appropriate use of the instruction is done. The Expert system which has been presented includes various knowledge sources while manufacturing the yachts.
The data base variable is stored in the auxiliary data base which can be considered as the conclusions that are obtained from the operations by the system. This data base greatly helps in the reconstruction of the way of working of the interference system and the way in which it is presented to the user.
The editor is associated with helping in the modification of the knowledge. This knowledge’s are generally contained in the system as well as in the various extensions of the Expert System. The Interface model is mainly used for the purpose of solving the problems and this is done by making use of the knowledge which is present in the knowledge base. In order to do this the interface procedures are used which are appropriate for doing this. Along with this the current system is associated with providing only backward chaining. Which often acts as the verification of the hypothesis and proceeds according to the rules of the fact (Romeo et al., 2013). After failing the search process is moved into the next fact or the rule which generally leads to repetition of the surgery consultation.
The mechanism is mainly associated with explaining the fact that why the request of the user was not answered by the system or why the system has asked for the specific question. Four kind of explanations are provided by the system and this includes “why”, “what it is”, “how” and a metaphor. The users are associated with using the system by means of communication with the system and this makes use of the user interfaces (Schipor, Pentiuc, & Schipor, 2012). The user is associated with asking questions, providing information and receiving of answers along with the explanations which is generally presented in various forms which includes the text videos and many more.
The knowledge base is also considered as the Expert system’s foundation but also comprises of the facts and various rules which are needed for the purpose of solving various types of problems in the fields. The knowledge’s which are generally stored in the form of rules was associated with assessment of the six experts in detailed way (?pek et al., 2013). After this the experts have been associated with assessing the correctness of the various rules that has been constructed and the facts that have been stored.
The above discussion helps in understanding the fact that the expert system is very much helpful for the engineering and manufacturing of the yachts application. This system also acts as an comprehensive guide to the system.by emphasizing the concepts and the procedures it can be stated that it not only focuses on the technology but also on ways in how the selection, initiation, implementation and managing of the technology is done. The system also presents the guidelines which ranges from the selection of the problems, analysis of the data, validation of the data, integration of the data and implementation and maintenance of the data.
