In the recent connected world, it has been seen that there has been a major rise in the number of mobile phone devices and a massive use of the broadband internet services. These kind of services have become the major need of the people and different industries. In the past decades, the Internet and telecommunication technology have had a revolutionary form of impact on the commerce and human culture (Hwang & Wu, 2014). The rise of sensor based technology have made their major impact on the sector of telecommunications and have thus helped in bringing about a massive change in the society. The Internet of Things (IoT) could be defined as the internetworking of different physical devices, buildings, smart appliances and vehicles. The other kinds of items are embedded with software, sensors, electronics and network connectivity. The usage of sensors within the telecommunication have helped in the enhancement of 5G based technologies. These kinds of technologies have helped n impacting the telecommunication sector and have thus redefined the policy systems of the use of sensors.
Definition of Sensors and Impact on Telecommunication Industry
Sensors are low cost based and highly useful technical devices that are able to control other kinds of devices such as sprinklers, pacemakers and levels of automotive fluid (Ojha, Misra & Raghuwanshi, 2015). These devices are also used in different kinds of sectors such as medical, government, education and also within the telecommunication industry. These sensors are efficient for calculating data based on real time scenarios (Perera et al., 2014). The sensors are also able to measure and stream data that are transferred over the Internet, bluetooth to smartphones and various other cloud based services.
The impact of sensors within the telecommunication industry is that they help in providing an extensive opportunity for them to shift their entire business to a large form of reactive model. This would help to bring proactivity and value to the end user. Different companies can also make use of this advantage based on the management of customer relationships (Sheng et al., 2015). This could also be a purpose of the management of a different revenue stream.
The concern of telecom companies are based on the immersive kinds of technologies. The disruptive technologies within the telecommunication industry would be able to bring new kinds of competitors from different other industries. The competitors within the telecommunication industry are leveraging disruptive technologies based on gaining advantage (Jin et al., 2014). With the impact of high usage of sensors, there are several kinds of new competitors that have emerged within the industry.
With the explosion in the growth of the smartphone market, the communication service providers (CSPs) have shown a major form of growth in the generation of huge volumes of data that travel between various networks (Chen et al., 2017). These telecommunication service providers make use of sensor based technology for collecting signals and processing them. These CSPs help in the collection of voice data (Dahlman et al., 2014). These CSPs would need storage and analytics solutions such that they would store data in a cost effective manner. CSPs have a major kind of opportunity for gaining value from the data extracted from the sensors. This data would help in developing new form of insights about the potential customers, deliver location-based services and thus target promotions for the customers.
The different kinds of use cases based on the telecommunication service providers are:
The different kinds of disruptive technologies are primarily helping the telecommunication service providers for realizing the gains based on productivity. With the impact of sensor based technologies, the different kinds of currency and digital payments have shown a massive growth (Chen et al., 2017). Based on the utilization of smart devices and sensors, the telecom companies have shown maximum kind of benefits. With the help of sensors, the preventive maintenance on the different kinds of networks could be tracked and thus be audited when they would move through the supply chain network (Ojha, Misra & Raghuwanshi, 2015). These supply chains are supported by sensor based technologies. Hence they are able to improve the tracking of different kinds of devices and also be able to audit assets. The addition and implementation of sensors would be able to improve the quality of products.
Conclusion
Based on the discussion from the report, it could be concluded that the impact of sensors within the telecommunication sector of business would be helpful for creating new values and thus enhance the quality of network. The different telecom operators are making a massive use of sensor technologies to design new kinds of products, improve the quality of network and also keeping these changes at a much lower cost. This report helps in focusing on the massive kinds of impacts that have been brought with the impact of sensor based technology. In the recent years, the business sector have witnessed a transformative phase. The 3G and 4G network infrastructures have matured in these years are now searching for new upgrades within the 5G infrastructure. Despite the different kinds of challenges, there are a huge number of possibilities that would be explored within the domain of sensor technology. The mitigation of challenges would be helpful for innovating new technologies that would be useful for the telecommunication sector.
Based on the types of learning and the various kinds of impact of sensors within the telecommunication industry, I have understood that the telecommunication sector has mostly been benefitted from the technology. I have also put major kinds of considerations on the major kinds of technologies that have been affected by the use of sensor technology. I have also learnt the basic concepts of sensors that are used within the telecommunication industry.
Based on the consideration, I have also made usage of the Gibbs Reflective Cycle in order to frame the topic of discussion. This would be based on the impact of sensors within the telecommunication sector. From the first part of the Gibbs Reflective Cycle, I have been helped for discussing about the major parts that I have learnt during the conduction of research based on the topic. I have gained major facts based on the impact of sensors on the telecommunication sector. During the second stage of research, I have been able to generate the situations, which could be generated within the telecommunication sector. With the impact of description and feelings, I would be majorly be helped for the evaluation of current situations within the conduction of research based on using sensor by the telecom service providers. After the completion of the conduction of research, I have been able to understand the impact of sensors on the telecommunication sector. Based on the drawn conclusions, I have been able to take different forms of necessary steps for understanding new strategies on the use of research based on sensor technologies.
