Omnipotence can be defined as the quality of having unlimited or very great power. Every infinity-based outcome that happens in your life is a direct result of the decisions you make and actions you take while executing your ‘free will’ during your lifetime. All these potential outcomes are already known by God or intelligent Design no matter what level of infinite regression. I am taught God sees all human history from the very beginning of time to the very end of time; including every single action, thought, decision, event, outcome, and chain reaction, down the to the most infinitesimal detail -the same way that we see the past; as if it already happened.
In the same way that our knowledge of decisions made in the past by individuals does not mean we interfered with them, God’s knowledge of our future decisions did not influence our free will — he allowed them to happen. God is outside of Time, Space and Matter — not confined to them.
God: namely, that he is supposedly infallible. That is, God cannot possibly make mistakes; he cannot be wrong. And that changes things Some arguments against the existence of God focus on the supposed incoherence of humankind possessing free will and God’s omniscience. Aquinas and C. S. Lewis(2011), suggests that God’s perception of time is different and that this is relevant to our understanding of our own free will. In his book Mere Christianity, Lewis argues that god is actually outside time and therefore does not foresee events, but rather simply observes them all at once.
God is above our Time-line. In that case, what we call tomorrow is visible to Him in just the same way as what we call today. All the days are Now for Him. He does not remember you doing things yesterday, He simply sees you doing them because, though you have lost yesterday, He has not. He does not foresee you doing things tomorrow, He simply sees you doing them: because, though tomorrow is not yet there for you, it is for Him. You never supposed that your actions at this moment were any less free because God knows what you are doing.
Well, He knows your tomorrow’s actions in just the same way because He is already in tomorrow and can simply watch you. In a sense, He does not know your action till you have done it: but then the moment at which you have done it is already Now for Him with no free will, all actions by all people would be a direct expression of god’s will. That would clearly pose a problem, with war atrocities, rape, torture, genocide, and the full repertoire of human debauchery reflecting poorly on the almighty. (Hume 2011)
No religion would tolerate such a grim view of the creator, so there must be a way to reconcile the reality of ugly human behavior with an all-powerful, all-knowing god our natural terrors present the notion of a devilish and malicious deity:” “Our propensity leads us to acknowledge an excellent and divine. And the influence of these opposite principles is various, according to the different situation of human understanding.’ (Hume2011) it is God’s plan that people can choose to do bad this does not seem consistent with the view that God is omnibenevolent. A possible solution is that free will arises as part of a greater plan. God knows how we will use our free will, and this is how he determines who is saved in salvation. Morality also requires free will and our ability to choose right and wrong. free will and determinism can be viewed in different ways.
Every choice that is made can be explained by its prior causes. Hard determinism is incompatible with free will and moral responsibility. John Hospers, a hard determinist, believed there is always something which compels us externally and internally to perform an action that we would believe to be the result of our own free will. Modern versions of hard determinism point to our behavior and genetics, as it has been observed that in certain situations, we may be manipulated to choose a certain action. This is known as behaviorism. In conclusion, I believe the best solution is that of the future is not fact, therefore, God cannot know but predict. I do believe we are determined and can be manipulated but I still believe we have a sense of free will When I decide I feel as though I’m making it for myself and even if this could be determined.
I don’t think it makes much of a difference in that I wanted to choose this decision either way. I don’t think the dilemma here can ever be answered successfully as it seems the God’s omniscience is what changes. From God being all-knowing to what God can know that is possible. God in the view of Anselm being ‘the greatest possible being’ to me should mean he is an eternalist and knows everything regardless of Time.’ You are free to choose what you want to make of your life. It’s called a free agency or free will, and it’s your birthright.'(Covey 2019)
