Introduction

The project is regarding the development and implementation of an e-commerce website. The project shall include the following items as in-scope activities.

The website shall have the abilities such as search functionality, addition of products in the cart, purchasing of the product and payment of the same.
The project team shall carry out design, development along with the integration and deployment activities associated with the project (Gasik, 2015).

Project Timeline

Project Development Methodology

There are a number of project development methodologies that are present such as Rapid Application Development (RAD), Agile, Scrum and many others.

The recommended methodology for the case of the e-commerce website is the agile methodology. This methodology has been recommended as it will provide many advantages to the project and the project team engaged with the project.

The e-commerce website may have many changes that will be required to be implemented such as changes in terms of the requirements along with the changes in the technology that is used. These changes will be easily applicable and incorporated through the agile methodology.
The e-commerce website that will be developed will have the attributes such as flexibility and scalability present in it (Hewagamage, 2011).
The project resources will not be confined to the defined set of processes and procedures during the project and will have the freedom to carry out ad-hoc methods.
The feedback will be regularly collected from the project client and therefore the changes will be applicable with much case. Also, the end result will be as per the expectations and specifications.

Source Control Procedures

Version control will be necessary for the e-commerce website along with all of the system documentation associated with the website.

The following step of actions will be taken for making sure that version control is carried out:

Automated tools will be used for tracking and maintenance of the version control of the website and the system documentation.
There will be reviews and inspections that will be carried out at regular intervals. These processes will be carried out by the senior management and leadership.
The version control will be collaborated with the security mechanisms to make sure that there are no version specific attacks executed.

Collaboration Environment

The collaboration activities associated with the e-commerce activities shall be done using Teambox as the collaboration software.

Teambox is the open source project management and collaboration software which shall be used as the tool has the adequate functionalities and also comes for free of cost. The UI of the tools has a great degree of interactivity present in it and there are provisions that are present which may be used for easier communication with the project resources and other entities associated with the project.

There is an in-built calendar that is present in Teambox which may be used for tracking of the project activities and for keeping track of the upcoming events as well.
