The project is conducted by the project manager and his team. The two project topics have been selected, one is the ‘Impact of Agile on Project Success (INF70005 Strategic Project Management)’ and the other one is the ‘Project Risk Management (INF70005 Strategic Project Management)’. The project manager and his team will carry out the project activities associated with the project. The stakeholders will have to work in accordance to the project deliverables. My project team consists of the Three members and I have seen the video and have analysed the potential risks that are can occur within the project
The aim of the project is to identify the impact of agile project methodology. The second aim of the project is to assess the risk associated with the project. The primary objective of the report is to highlight the potential benefits that the agile can bring has been highlighted. In the other scenario, the project risks have been defined which every organisation must be aware of and must mitigate them. I learn about the agile project management and how it can improvise the business. I learn about the project risks and have acknowledged how those risks can be mitigated following the rules
The enterprises will need to adopt the agile project methodology. The enterprise generally follow a project methodology however, to adopt a whole new methodology will take significant amount of time. The employees require training and they will need time to follow the rules. The productivity of the company will be affected due to the project methodology. In the other case, the project risk must be mitigated the project risks must be taken into seriously and must be mitigated otherwise the project will be considered compete failure. The enterprises will take up the agile project methodology and the agile contains the following steps – requirements, plan, design, develop, release, track and monitor. The stakeholders can accomplish the project by following the project methodology
The academic team has been greatly facilitated from the course. The students learn about the benefits of agile project management. When the students will go for the job they will use their experiences in carrying out the project in offices. All the risk management process will help them to stay aware all the time. All the team members who have worked diligently for the project. They have put efforts to accomplish the project tasks and they have gained success. The team members acknowledge the aspects of the agile methodology. The team member will be immensely; they can apply the agile project methodology knowledge in their offices and carry out the office tasks flawlessly. The risk management methodology will help the students to stay aware and attentive
The students will learn the agile project methodology and will gain substantial knowledge on the risk methodologies. They will conduct mini projects in schools and will gain experience. They will use the experience while they will go to job.
They will conduct errors and faults and their instructor will rectify this, in this way the students will learn the project management concepts.
The students or the project members can work in accordance to the agile project methodology and can carry out the project activities ethically and efficiently. The risks will help them to conduct any project confidently. Thus the two video links over here can provide them maximum benefits.
The students collaborate and take the module. Thus the students learn the communication management. The students learn to communicate with their peer groups and learn to communicate with their lecturer. The students alongside agile project methodology aspects and the risk management methodologies have learnt to cope up with the project, can learn about the communications management. The students will communicate with each other and bring out the best. The communication is very important for every project. The project manager communicates with the stakeholders and the subordinates regularly and this helps to accomplish the project successfully.
The two project topics that have been selected are -‘Impact of Agile on Project Success (INF70005 Strategic Project Management)’ and the other one is the ‘Project Risk Management (INF70005 Strategic Project Management)’. The project will be carried out by the project manager and his team. The project can suffer from poorly defined goals; the project can suffer due to unrealistic goals. Sometimes the client does not define the deliverables well. Sometimes the project manager fails to interpret the project deliverables and get creates a risk of failure. The project manager also allows the project risks also get erupted due to unrealistic deadlines. Sometime project manager set unrealistic deadlines and for this reason the project fails miserably. The project manager should have analysed the tasks and the deadlines and then work accordingly, otherwise the project quality will suffer and along with that the stakeholders will miss the deadline.
One of the most important factors of the business is to deal with the risks and the opportunities in professional manner. The enterprises have acknowledged the potential benefits of the risk assessment and so they are implying risks management methodologies for their premises. The competition is getting tougher; the market cycles are getting more and more vulnerable. The planning horizons are decreasing day by day while on the other hand products range is increasing significantly day by day. That is why risks and opportunities are increasing rapidly. For this reason, the enterprise has taken the initiative to implement the risk management strategies. The strategies will help to mitigate the risks existing within the premises and the risk will help them in decision making. Risk management is the ongoing procedure that s taken up through the lifecycle of the project. Risk management associates the risk management planning, risk management identification, risk monitoring and risk control. The project manager updates the risk management procedures and the throughout the lifecycle of the project. The primary objective of the risk management is to reduce the probability of risks and events that are vulnerable to risks. The events that can create adverse effect must be detected and must be checked. The risk only gets identified when the project gets started. The project risks increase as the project continues. Initially when the project gets started the risk is assessed to know the probability of occurring, the degree of impact of schedule, quality, cost as well as scope. The strategic risk management is one kind of approach towards responsible business. The risk management’ objective is to create an optimum balance between the value creation goals and the security interests. The strategic risk management adds value to long term goals. The quantitative risk assessment for the financial sector and the qualitative methods from the industry creates a strategic risk assessment. The approach aids managers to recognise the critical success of the business and the risk factors and the managers then use them effectively. Thus strategic risk management involves identifying the probable risks and the opportunities. The project management must meet the two kinds of risk management system. The risk management system is not limited to the accumulation of individual project risks, however, it is a process of recognising the potential existing threats. The second issue that persists and that must be neutralised is the managing the resources by effective means. Risk management consists of both the risks management procedures and the risk management organisation.
There are specific factors that need to be considered when assessing a particular project or a product or any kind of business risks. There are several project risks which need to be stimulated. The risk regarding people involves the availability, skill level as well as the people retention. The risks related to size involve the product magnitude and the project team. The projects which are larger are generally more complicated. Those projects require a lot of attention and interactions as well. Procedural risks relate to whether the project management team will use the well-defined appropriate product development procedures. Procedural risks involve whether the tea members will be to accomplish the project goals or not. Technical risks erupt from the hardware technologies and the software technologies and it is the part of the system. If the enterprise wants to adopt a new technology then the overall risk of the project increases as well. The tools risks as well as the technical risks are almost similar and are related to availability and reliability of the support products used by the development team like the computer-aided software engineering tools. Organisational as well as the managerial risks gets derived from the environment where the product has been created or is undergoing development. Some instances are financial stability of an enterprise and threats of an enterprise reorganisation. The customer related risks are generated from the changes to the requirements of the customers, customers’ lack of understanding of impact changes, the procedures of managing and the requirement changes. The customer related risks also involve whether they are able to communicate with the team effectively and with accuracy or not. The estimation related risks erupt when the project manager fails to predict the resources for the project appropriately. The sales and support related risks erupt when the sales force fails to understand what they will have to sell. Again, the spontaneous risks and the risk identification are not efficient. There several techniques which the team uses systematically to surface risks in proactive manner. After the identification of the risks the risks are analysed and those risks are mitigated at last. The probability of loss occurring is assessed foremost, after that a scale is established and utilised and that reflects the perceived likelihood of risks. The project manager asses the risk and then establishes a risk register. The project manager in this way can assess the impact of the loss that occurs. The key risk management issues are technology risk management, fraud and misconduct, issues related to data security, achieving the compliance program effectiveness, improvement of risk data aggregation and reporting. The technology related risks can be mitigated with the aid of the ITRM. ITRM manages and monitors technology related risks. The enterprises today have thousands of intermediaries and they have collaboration with the government agencies. They can be able to know which of the companies are putting them into risks. The employees conduct frauds and several misconducts, it is the responsibility of the companies to find out the fraud and the misconduct, otherwise the companies will be at risk and will face heavy losses, the hackers or the intruders can hack the system or database of a particular enterprise and can take away all the financial data as well. Thus important measures must be taken to prevent the malware attack or the hackers’ attack otherwise there is risk they will lose all the data. The regulations are increasing every day. It is the duty of the enterprises to anticipate the regulations. The project manager will have to monitor whether the enterprises are following the compliance or not or they are facing issues or not while following the compliance
I learn from the video that the project risks must be considered very seriously by the project manager and his team otherwise it may happen that the project fails. The risks vary from industry to industry and all those have been explained in details in the report. I learn all the industry related risks. After the identification of the risks, those risks are analysed and then the project manager finds out the mitigation procedures. I learn about all the potential risks that can harm the company or the project. I learn how to stay attentive all the time and how to perform work activities with effectiveness. Al my friends and team members staff learn about the risks and the risk management strategies. They will learn to use the strategy and will apply them in office premises in future. Thus this lesson is quire useful in shaping future of a professional. Everyone should follow the policies to get the best outcome
In the current study the Impact of Agile on Project Success is analyzed. The project has been exhibiting agile development processes that have been sharing various primary characteristics that are summarized here. Here, for some methodologies these have been corresponding to individual practices and for various other methods they have been possessing looser correspondence. The paper has been presenting a design of research for developing the common theory of agile project management. This has been helpful; to explain and describe impacts to adopt agile methods in integrative and comprehensive manner. Here the theory has possessed primary constructs and the various kinds of relations that have been responsible for the success and effects of different agile methods in present practice. The scope of the theory has been to grander the current issues through theoretical perspectives. This has been also consisting of the particle perspective for explaining the selected phenomenon and success of the agile methods.
It is seen that different agile development projects has been thriving on the heartbeat and rhythm of various kinds of fixed-length iterations. This constant flow of tested features and new running at all the iteration has been providing the feedback. It has been enabling project teams to place both projects and systems over the track. One can get different meaningful answers to various queries like time-boxed iterations. This is helpful to get meaningful answers to various queries. The queries have included how much world has been done last month as compared to what have been predicted previously. Next it helps in determining how much tasks are done as compared to previous months. The most important query it has been solving is how much elements that has been done before the deadline is missed.
However, one of the drawbacks of the theory has been the fixed deadlines. This has been present under the agile development release cycle. It has been present all the time within the project manager’s mind. Here, face-to-face having high visibility results from the previous iterations both positive and negative has been helpful for the project team. Here, the team has been finding themselves focused to refine the process for the upcoming iteration. Further, they have been less tempted for various gold-plate features and fuzzy about the scope of letting the scope get creep. Lastly it must be kept in mind that the operating mechanism of agile development process has been largely interdependent.
The chosen theory has been outlining the comprehensive researches for developing common concept on Agile project management as partial theoretical basis and practitioner’s experiences. Further, the theory has been inserting various contributions towards the study of information systems. Firstly, the theory has been resulting to theorize the IS disciplines as its proper scope has been grandering the current theoretical lenses over agile methodologies. Moreover, it has been able to explain the underpinning mechanisms over agile methodologies around various constructs and the relationships in more comprehensive manner. The relationships and constructs have been rooted in various other theories and thus they are embedded to the current theory landscape. Further, the theory has been providing more comprehensive and coherent theoretical lenses than the presently existing future theory-oriented research for further improving the understanding the agile project management. Secondly, the resulting theory has been independent of software development and has been keeping the intention for facilitating the transfer of agile principles for common project management and various other management domains. This kind of the transfer has been allowing harnessing various agile methods as per potential in various projects in various domains. Besides, the theory’s domain has been related to socio-political questions, epistemological, ontological and structural questions. In this way, the transfer has needed significant attention to the boundaries of the theory. Lastly, the research design has not been containing particular elements towards agile methods and can also be deployed to create theirs for various domains of the information system and various other disciplines.
Thus it has been helpful to contribute the theorizing of the IS discipline through providing the generalizable blueprint regarding how to create novel theories for domains. However, here the theories have been lacking. Moreover, it has been also mitigating various weaknesses that have started with the development of theory. Moreover, it has been also helpful to contribute towards the growth of cumulative body of theirs for the future.
Additionally from the understanding of the managerial perspective it is regarded that inclusion of expert practitioner’s view-points has been vital to develop the theory. This has not been well rooted in the current body of concepts and theories. However, it has been also of high relevance for various pertinent at this domain such that they are able to understand the domains better and explains different pertinent phenomena.
It is clearly understood that the Agile project management has been the best fir for businesses. This has been constantly changing various environments and various complicated situations. This has been often deployed into ever-evolving IT industry and software. Apart from this, the non-IT managers has also started to use Agile as per as project management is considered. They have been also finding it hard in articulating various requisites instead of fetching different tangible products. Apart from this the Agile has been ensuring production of qualities that has been flawlessly meeting requirements of clients.
Hence, it has been one of the causes to implement Agile methods to adapt while it has been needed. This has been helpful to increase business values and reduce costs. Moreover, Agile under current modern technology has been providing the real-time insights for responding to various changes. However, these changes in requirements or priorities from clients have been helpful to develop products and bring outstanding changes in market also. It is assures that this would be thriving business for future and make them a responsive enterprise. Here, the video has helpful in all these visions. Thus this value-driven approach has been enabling project managers to deliver various high-qualities along with high-priority tasks.
From the module I learn about the agile project methodology benefits. The agile project methodology comes with following six steps. There are 12 principles of the agile project methodology. The customer satisfaction is utmost necessity and that can be achieved through rapid delivery and continuous delivery. Change management provides enterprises a competitive advantage. The stakeholders and the team members remain motivated with the aid of the necessary tools and the support. Agile facilitates through continuous focus on technical excellence as well as proper design. The regular intervals are utilised by the project team to enhance the efficiency with the aid of fine-tuning behaviours. I learn about the agile project methodologies and the related aspects from this topic. I can use all these concepts in the office projects and can make those professional projects successful. Agile project management is the approach which aids project managers to cater high priority and quality. I have learnt about the project methodology that can aid them to accomplish the professional project successfully.
