The advancement of the technology has shaped the operations of the different industries in a specific way. In this context the implementation of the digital technology at the workforce can be mentioned. There are different technologies which have helped the organizations to achieve the higher accuracy rate and mitigation of the overhead cost (Karimi & Walter, 2015). The main objective of the paper is to brainstorm the idea regarding the application of different digital technologies in the workforce. In order to do this the discussion regarding the different digital application in the workplace has been discussed along with its advantages and disadvantages. This will lead to the recommendations which will help to develop the application of the digital technology in the workforce. Apart from that it will also help to mitigate the challenges and the risks from the implementation of the digital technology in the workforce. Apart from that the work ethics has also taken into considerations in this context.
The implementation of the digital technology has helped the business industries in different ways. There are various application of the digital technology for the smooth running of the operations of the business. Some of these are the application of the internet of things or artificial intelligence. One of the main application of the advanced digital technology at workforce is the use of robots. The use of robots in the production and the logistics management has helped to reduce the overhead cost of the operations (Dery & Sebastian, 2017). Apart from that the company can gain efficiency. It has been seen that the robots can do more work than human beings in small time span. This increases the productivity of the company. Apart from that the use of the robots in the industries has increased the efficiency of the operations. The use of the robots has been implemented in the shopping malls in Japan and Korea. In some places around the world robots are employed as waiters (Meacham, Studley, Lin, Abney & Jenkins, 2017). Robots are extensively used in the health care sectors. In this context the mention of the Japanese robot Paro can be mentioned. Many Paros has been sold around the Europe and Asia. The main function of this robot is to give the company (Funk,2016). The robots can be customized to do different works according to the requirements. Sometimes robots are used for reminding the people about medications and taking medicines. In this way, the robots which is an application of the digital technology has been used for the improvement of the overall systems.
Another use of the technology for the improvement of the daily functions is the use of the electric car or driverless car. This type of car can be classified into two types. The car can be partially controlled by the technology. The driverless car is fully controlled by the technology. In the driverless car the driving is operated and controlled by the technology (Broadbent, 2017). The navigation is generated and controlled by the GPS. Driverless car can be considered as the revolution in the automobile industry. Apart from that some of the cars are partially controlled by the technology. The drivers in these cars enjoy the benefit of different advanced technologies and the navigation techniques. In the driverless, the detection of the route is controlled by the GPS. The decision making process is monitored and operated through the use of the artificial intelligence.
Another application of the advanced digital technology is the usage of the internet of things for different aspects. IoT is used extensively for the different purpose. The main application of the IoT has been seen in the implementation of the smart home and smart city. This technology has enabled the way to control different operations remotely and in a secured way.
The implementation of the digital technology in the workforce can be considered as digital disruption. The happening of the digital disruption has been seen in the different sectors such as bankig and financial sectors, management of the logistics , science and technology. Electronic record keeping and the accounting system has improved the transparency and accountability of the banking and the financial system (Warhurst, Mathieu & Wright,2017). The main advantage of the digital disruption is that it reduces the chances of human errors. Moreover, it can help to enhance the efficiency. The working time of the human being is limited. In this context the machine can work more hours than human resources. The maintenance cost is reasonable for most of the technologies used for the digital technology. All these factors are helpful for the companies to reduce the overhead cost and increase efficiency. Apart from that the use of the digital technology in everyday’s business and operation is beneficial for the people as it takes little time to complete the complex work.
The advantages of the digital technology are not negligible. However, there are certain ethical issues raises regarding the use of the digital technology at workforce. The main ethical issue is regarding the loss of the jobs of many employees and decreasing the availability of the job opportunities. Due to the digital disruption, the technology used in the different sectors will do the work more efficiently than the human beings (Hallam,2017). This will reduce the need of the human work force in the organization, which will lead to the recessions. The demand for the expert people will increase as they are needed to operate the digital system in a proper way. Another ethical issue regarding the use of the digital technology in the work force is the decision making ability of the artificial system. In most of the cases it has been seen that the technology driven system are not intelligent enough to make the proper decision making like the human being (Dery,Sebastian & van der Meulen,2017). This leads to the accidents in most of the cases. Apart from that the decision making ability of the system is implemented by the experts. This means there is a chance of the human error during the implementation of the system (Murdoch & Fichter,2017). Another concern regarding the usage of the digital technology in the workforce is the security of the system. Maintaining the security of the digital systems implemented for the organizational work is important. The violation of the security can lead to the breaching of the data. The data stored in the organization in most cases are of the sensitive type. The breaching of the data can lead problem for the organizations.
In order to maintain the security of the implemented system the employees of the company are needed to be trained in a proper way (Lin, Abney & Bekey,2014).The training is expensive and can take time. Another problem regarding the implementation of the digital disruption is that the acceptability of the new system by the users. Many users of the products face the problem while use the newly implemented system. In this case the users are needed to be trained to use the newly implemented system. Sometimes the digital systems are manipulated by the hackers (Dinyar,2017). In this case the technology can be used against its positive objective. Sometimes the use of the digital disruption through the implementation of the new technology can bring the violation of the rules and regulations along with the security protocols. In this case proper rules regarding the use of the digital technology is needed to be implemented. The users are needed to be concerned about the importance of maintaining the security protocols in order to protect the their privacy. In this case the mention of the electronic and the driverless car can be mentioned. In the driverless and the electronic car all data regarding the car and the driver are stored in the digital system. The hacking of this electronic storage system in the car can lead to the breaching of the sensitive and important data regarding the driver and the car. It also exposes the location of the car which can lead to the security threat for the driver or owner of the car. The decision making process of the artificial intelligence implemented in the electronic car is questionable as it follows the particular decision making algorithm which is not applicable for all the situations.
The implementation of the digital technology in the workforce will lead to the improvement of the functionality of the business. It can be said that that the use of the digital technology in the business will help to mitigate the overhead cost and improve the quality of the services. However, there are some of the issues regarding the application of the digital technology. Some of the uses complain about the way of using the advanced technology n the daily business. Apart from that there is a chance of threat from the maintenance of the security. In this context it can be said that using the digital technology in the business field needs extra maintenance and alertness.

Different aspects of the digital disruption have been discussed in this paper. The discussion has pointed out both advantages and the disadvantages of the implementation of the digital technology in the workforce. In this context it cane said that proper maintenance and implementation of the digital technology in the different sectors of the industry will help the business organizations to achieve the desired aims and objective. However, there are certain issues regarding the use of the digital technology in the work force. The main issue is the loss of the job of the employees. Apart from that there are security and maintenance issues. These issues can be resolved through the implementation of the proper planning and discussions. It can be concluded from the above discussion that the implementation of the digital technology in the workforce can be successful if the guidelines and implementation plans are carried out in a proper way.
