In order to gain competitive advantages and measurable success from the market it is necessary for CC Music Company to implement necessary changes in their infrastructure. Followed by the crucial changes implementation should be done by the business organization. The roadmap developed by CC Music Company will provide a graphical presentation that will show all the necessary changes that has to be implemented in the business environment. It can be said that these will bring strategic changes in their company. Apart from this, the business roadmap will also outline the referred changes those will help to incorporate changes in the business organization (Harmon 2015). In order to improve the existing business strategies an improved version of proper ICT environment is expected to be incorporated to the CC Music Company.
In order to implement the changes proper software is required to be selected by the company to and also proper planning should be considered. For selecting the most suitable software business scope and proper set of objectives should be prepared. Additionally, the system that will be developed by the company is needed to be user friendly and cost effectives at the same time.
CC Music Company is one of the most well-known companies, belongs to the entertainment industry, which deal with different promotional activities mainly for the musical bands. The founders of the company have taken early retirement and for their high experience, they are able to place their company as a challenge to other music companies. They have only six band members who give live performance for different events. As they are having he experiences thus they can easily identify those areas wherever any kind of improvements are required. The economic environment of the company is lagging behind due to lack of financial support but it has great market opportunity. Different activities managed by the CC Music Company include radio programs, conduct events etc. The company manages all their promotional and contract level activities by following the traditional approaches and no advanced approaches are adopted by them for successfully implement the necessary changes. In addition to this, the data management approach followed by the company is again a traditional one it means that, the changes of error occurrence is also very high for this company; those are needed to be resolved with the adoption of an accurate software based solution (Chang 2016). The manual approach used by CC Music Company is quite time taking and as it has no web based application thus for both contract and promotional support they requires a website to be formulated. The payment processing approach of the company is traditional and thus, they should implement a payment gateway for successful payment completion.
Issues associated to current situation: The biggest issue faced by the company is their traditional business strategy and business process. Due to this reason the communication process of CC Music Company is interrupted each time. The musical bands those needs successful promotions and also failing to communicate due to this traditional approach. All the activities are done by the company manually with is time and cost consuming simultaneously. The chances of errors increase while any company use paper based management. In this case if any user needs any information to fetch then that will also be quite time taking. It can be said that, business success and customer satisfaction are two complimentary components is the users are not satisfied then, it will automatically lead the entire music company towards massive failure. Due to single wrong information input, the complete may face failure. Improper decision making is another issue that may again eventually affect the success of the company. As, the company uses manual data management approach thus, technically being up-to-date stands little problematic for the CC Music Company. It does not have standard report generating ability.
Business process Model change: For gaining competitive advantages and measurable economic benefits from the marketplace, the company is required to change their existing business process model. In order to implement the proposed changes a list of activities are represented in the business roadmap (Galliers and Leidner 2014). The business roadmap will define the process driven components, considered by the company to make sure that the necessary changes are incorporating to CC Music Company. According to the existing business process model the necessary changes those are needed to be integrated is an ICT based environment. In order to increase the service level efficiency of CC Music Company, with the ICT environment the entire business process can be changed. Not only this but also, the communication and decision making approach will also automatically improve as the website will provide an independent platform to the users. The platform itself can be easily accessed by the users and owners and managers whenever needed. All the stakeholders of CC Music can share their point of views with others regardless of their location and time as well (Laudon and Laudon 2016). Another change that has to be implemented in the company is its manual data management and payment processing. After the implementation of the website based application, the other bands that will to take part in the promotional events can use payment gateway or online payment approach. Typically it can be said that, the software based operation can store huge set of information in the server with higher security alert. It will reduce the issues of report creation and the two different business process models those will be developed by CC Music Company are the AS-IS BPMN and TO-BE BPMN. The company does not have a decision support system it can be said that the AS-IS process can provide the company a perfect business environment.
This is one of the most crucial activities to be undertaken by the owners of the CC Music Company. In order to create an ICT environment the two different options available open sources are ERP and Information system. Both the hardware cost and the in-house development cost will reduce with both of these approaches (Heizer 2016). In order to bring the necessary changes it has customized the change requirements. After analyzing the details of the company it has been found that, for CC Music Company the most suitable open source software is Dolibarr ERP software. It will minimize the overall expense of the company and will also help to storage huge data with huge protection.
In order to implement the ERP software in CC Music Company, software development life cycle methodology is needed to be considered. The phases involved in the SDLC are initiation, panning, development, control and monitoring, execution and maintenance. In order to develop implement the ERP software in the company, iterative waterfall model has been chosen. It will reduce the overall operational and functional cost. In the project initiation phase the project team should be prepared based on their professional skill and knowledge (Stevenson and Sum 2015). All valuable requirements and processes should be collected to carry out the ERP implementation project successfully. The system requirements can be collected through different approaches only the valid resources are to be utilized to avoid unwanted cost expenditure. Before developing the system, both hardware and software requirements should be specified. In addition to this, before the final execution the system should be tested by the professionals accordingly.
Conclusion
From the overall discussion it can be concluded that, in order to make professional changes in any business environment, a Business process model is required to be developed to avoid the issues of manual data management. After analyzing the background operation and functionalities of the company it has been found that it fails to provide all necessary approaches due to their manual data management. In order to gain competitive advantages and measurable economic success, CC Music Company should implement Dolibarr ERP system to execute the processed changes.
In order to resolve the highlighted issues certain recommendations are provided to it and the list of recommendations are as follows:
Involvement of the project team members: The project managers rather the founders of the CC Music Company should motivate their project team members to make sure that, the rest of the members are professionally engaged to the job roles and also serving their responsibilities seriously.
Proper communication: In order to avoid the intra project conflicts the members of the CC Music Companies are needed to use open communication approach to make sure that, all the members are efficiently sharing their point of views with others.
In this current business era, every business is looking towards harmonies as well as streamlining their business operations and functionalities. The focus is on adopting Open source ERP software and the associated software. However, I felt that the nightmare stories flourish the complexities and expenses for this kind of installation. I have learned that open source software allows the users to tweak and also customize all the underlying source codes. I have also learned that in order to round out the functionalities of ERP open source software there are many options to host total system in cloud. I learned that it also helps to both pick and select the cloud based modules for expansion. I have gained idea on the nature of open source ERP software that is relies on the contribution and activities in the development activity. There are certain ERP-worthy platforms that provide modules to the enterprises in terms of standard, accounting, finance purchase, inventory etc. From the learning I think that Dolibarr ERP is the effective system. CC Music Company uses manual system for managing large set of information which leads the company towards operational and functional failures. In order to resolve these failures it is necessary for the company to adopt the most suitable pen source ERP software. After comparing the entire open source ERP software I have realized that, for this company Dolibarr ERP is the most suitable one. I have also compared each and individual features and technical characteristics of the open source software before recommending it for the company.
