It has been seen that the housekeeping plays a very important role in the hospitality industry and these are given below:
Running smooth department
The responsibility of housekeeping is to take care about the comfort of the guest by providing them facilities and cleaning the surrounding nearby them. This responsibility helps in achieving the efficiency in care and comfort of guest so, that the departments run smooth.
Maintenance
The housekeeper plays the role of maintaining the floral decoration and landscape areas. Housekeepers have the responsibility to handle the activities of the departments in which they are appointed. From providing uniform to the staff to maintain the inventories for the same place are the roles that are performed by the housekeepers. It can be said that the housekeepers are the major part of the hospitality industry.
Safety and Security
It has been seen that the number of people travels here and there to visit the places. The main motive of the guest is to safe and secure in another place. The housekeeping departments ensure that the safety and security regulation are followed by all staff of the department. It helps to protect the employees by safe and secures the employees (BNG, 2018).
These are the many services that the housekeeping department provide the guest so that the guest feels comfortable and relaxed.
Linen and other guest supplies are a very essential part of the housekeeping department. It is an asset of the department which has high purchasing cost.

The forecasting of these stock helps to plan the budget for the raw material. It has been seen that the purchasing cost of linen stock is high and to replace the stock a lot of care is required while making the budget. The other guest supplies also require a lot of care for their maintenance, laundering procedure, and their storage. Quality
It has been seen that the Linen and other guest supplies required a lot of research to get the right quality of stock. Forecasting of stock is necessary to maintain the quality of services to people. It is difficult to buy the right quality of stock in the situation of urgent need. It is necessary to maintain the quality of services to attain the customer. Providing a higher level of facilities helps to satisfy consumer demand. This demand can be possible by forecasting the demand for the stock (Jerzy, Ewa, Agnieszka, and Monika, 2017).
The budget and quality are the reasons which justify that the forecasting of linen stock and other guest supplies is necessary to ensure the sufficient supply to meet the demand.
Housekeeping is a central department directly linked with the other departments and maintain each and every activity of a hotel. Housekeeping department maintains the activities of all departments and helps them to operate smoothly. Housekeeping department has a strong relationship with the other departments because in a circle it is a department which helps the other department. It has been seen that the hotel Savoy has a high value of goodwill which reflects that the hotel operates smoothly (Fairmont, 2018).
The coordination is mainly concerned in the relationship of the housekeeping department with the security department. The role of the security department in the hotel is to protect the people from fire and the other un-happening events. There are so many of Hazards use by the security department which is important for security but to keep this hazards the department requires the help of housekeeping department. The relationship between the housekeeping department and the security department is necessary because to maintain the hazards is very important for the smooth operation because the guest may take the advantage by using these hazards for illegal work (Karthik, 2015).
The role of the food and beverage department of the Savoy hotel is relying on the role of the housekeeping department. The food and beverage need napkins, uniforms, appearance and other stock to maintain hygiene. The housekeeping department of the hotel maintain the uniforms, napery and the other stock which is required to maintain the hotel facilities. The housekeeping department has to ensure the kitchen stock such as napery and the other material. The kitchen department is one of the main departments; it is necessary to maintain the department for the smooth operation of the departments (Careertrend, 2018).
It has been evaluated that it is essential to maintain the relationship of the housekeeping department with the other departments because without the housekeeping department the other department did not perform smooth. As per the role of the housekeeping department, the Savoy hotel helps the other department to maintain their efficiency in the work. The hotel provides the excellent services that are reflected by the reviews of the guest (Tripadvisor. 2018). The hotel has many facilities to provide excellent services to the guest such as Bars, shopping and spa, dining, locations, and room and suites. To maintain the quality of services the hotel requires the housekeeping departments because it is fact that a large number of facilities means more requirement to maintain the quality. The different department has different responsibility but the housekeeping department is, directly and indirectly, interconnected with the role of the other department.
The housekeeping department provides the services to the food and beverage department by providing them with uniforms, maintain adequate inventories so that they can able to provide an effective facility for the guest. The department the proper facilities to the personnel department at the time of hiring the new staff by maintaining the locker facilities, and issuing the identity cards due to which the risk of fraud is reduced. The day to day necessities of the hotel is maintained by the housekeeping department by providing the information to the store department so that they can maintain the stock for the smooth facilities. The role of responsibility of the housekeeping department of the hotel helps the department of the other so they can provide excellent accommodation services to the guest (Ifinedo and Scotia, 2018).

Scheduling is a key factor which helps to set the schedule in terms of place, cleaning, monthly seal tests, lubrication, etc. Plan the schedule will prevent the problems and extend the time between the repairs or failures. Repairing of the material reduce the accidents and prevent the guest and staff from the un-happening events and accidents. The main role of scheduling and repairing is to prevent people from accidents (Hotelier & Hospitality, 2018).
Ensure the working condition
Planned schedule ensure that everyone is working under safe and controlled situations. It also ensures the safety of the guest under the roof of the hotel. The hotel has the responsibility to provide the security to the guest so that they can come with the trust and enjoy their time. By maintaining the defaulted machines and materials which is used to provide the facilities helps to minimize the disruption to the guest (Tripadvisor, 2018).
Smooth operation
The other importance of scheduling and repairing is to operate smoothly. The repairing of the machines and the other items made the work easy for the employees. Maintenance of computer helps to manage the system or to develop a preventive maintenance program. These reduce the risk of frauds, illegal work (Terry, 2016).
Cost saving
It has been seen that the planning and scheduling are responsible to save the cost and return on investment. The effective planning, scheduling and the coordination of maintenance activities are responsible to save cost. The hotel faced the challenges and spending a lot of money on the critical issues which arise. As per the plan, the hotel can maintain their machines time to time so that it can save their money on repairing or buying the new machines (Seyitoglu, 2017).

It has been seen that the people are not safe at any place but to provide the excellent security facilities helps to protect the guest from un-happening events (Olmedo, 2015)..
Infrastructure
The security in the hotel helps to protect the people e from the un-happening events as well also secure the hotel as well. As per the above discussion, it has been seen that the hotel provide the many facilities to the guest so that they can enjoy their day. But it is observed that the chances of un-happening events are increases such as fire, robberies and many others. The fire alarm, security cameras helps to protect the infrastructure by fire or by robberies (Joshi, Shrivastava, and Joshi, 2016).
Customer
It has been seen that the security is considered as the first priority for the guest. The customers are attracted towards those services where the people get the high level of security. It is a fact that the guests always prefer the hotels those are highly secured with the high level of the security team. It is important for the hotel savoy to provide a high level of security to the guest to attract a large number of consumers.
Maintenance plays the important role in the accommodation services in ensuring the overall guest satisfaction. The main purpose of the maintenance is to ensure the good conservation and perfect functioning of its facilities and equipment. It is quite honest that the number of people gets the benefit of a happy guest. Happy guest means returning the guest and get the great reviews which are the main motive of the hotel (Grand Luxury, 2018). It is important to regular check the facilities and atmosphere so that there is less chance of something wrong at the time of guest visiting. The practice of improving the quality of services also relies on the maintenance activities of the hotel. It is required to maintain the machines which affect the satisfaction utility of the consumers. Before the visiting of guest, it is necessary to maintain the machines in the hotel so that they get the excellent services from the hotel.
It has been seen that the urgent repairs require the high the cost to maintain the machines. The proper maintenance the hotel has more time to maintain the machines with the right choice. The guest also takes advantage of reducing the cost by meeting the discount on the services. Maintenance in the accommodation services helps to satisfy the guest needs by providing the well maintained the facilities (Nayak, Pai, Prabhu, and Granil, 2015).
From the above analysis, it has been evaluated that the role of the housekeeping department helps the other departments to operate smoothly. The operation of different departments in the hotels is relying on the role of the housekeeping department. The hotel can provide the quality of services to the guest by maintaining the environment. In the whole scenario, communication plays a major role to develop the coordination among the housekeeping department and facility department. With the effective coordination, the hotel can provide effective services to the guest so that they get higher satisfaction. Security, maintenance of the infrastructure of the hotel, planned scheduling and repairing of machines are the functions which are performed by the housekeeping department which helps the other department to perform their responsibilities well. The function of housekeeping and the coordination between the departments get the benefit of happy guest which means great feedback and customer returning.
