In E business ‘E’ stands for electronic which involves electronic devices to do business on both ends through Internet. There are various electronically enabled communication networks which provide the information of the company to flow frequently across the globe form both ends. There are many other ways in which through internet and electronic channels the information flows internally. From suppliers to customers everything is electronically managed. Therefore in simple words we can say that a good Enterprise Resource Planning combined with any E Business is responsible for entire supply chain and customer management. There are various organizations which are still working with traditional ERP systems however now many companies are into a much efficient ERP system which are directly integrated with their business. These companies use corporate portals, with external bodies with add-on modules such as SCM CRM etc. these add-ons are many times included in ERP only and sometimes are managed separately as well but in both cases they are the most necessary elements of every E business.
The usage of internet and World Wide Web provided different organizations a way of working in a much easier manner with lesser production management costs. However on the other hand it also ensures that every department and system comes to work without remaining isolated at any given time. According to Fingar, P, Kumar, H and Tarun, S 2000 ERP modules make good use of internet and component based architectures of latest software to ensure that purchasing process, sales order management and shipping of different products tracking the shipment for an effective and safe delivery remains as easy and comforting as possible. It further helps the company officials to track the different cost heads and reduce them for a reasonable and quality perfect production. There are many companies which are developing their ERP systems with complete integration with their E business. Many researchers have shown that ERP software are reducing costs and improving efficacy. They also help in making the staff respond to queries and complaints of customers on time. Today the business runs on tips of your smart phones so it is equally necessary to make it happen on the other end as well and for that effective ERP software is the need of the hour.
Traditional ERP is also something which provides good command on management but there are times when due to its restricted boundaries. According to Hai Tao Q in year 2000 with the word restricted boundaries it means that the entire ERP system is contained within an enterprise. Thus the communication with other business parties remains in dearth. Due to this reason it becomes harder and many times impossible to act according to the rapidly changing market. The traditional ERP systems focus only on product and not on the chain involved with it like customer, supplier and manufacturers etc. The traditional ERP systems are designed to work as an internal management system so it’s obvious that it analyzes all that is involved with in the company to make the product like internal management of logistics and funds. However, when it comes providing the information of the customers the company has to develop a separate customer relationship management. Also, since it does not work with customers it can’t reflect the different aspects and statistics of customer’s requirements and supply and sales comparison. Due to these reason organizations which are still working with traditional ERP systems it is separate from E business. It actually makes the supply chain management and tracking the customer sales more complicated. Also purchasing data is also separate from other heads of business like sales and distribution. It further becomes the main reason for data integrity and data inconsistency issues. You can easily understand now that there are three most important headers of business which are being wasted here cost, memory space, and manpower.
Also, either in a traditional business setup or a contemporary E commercial setup the basics of business remain the same. For example, once the order is received that info circulates from one department to another from order placement, to manufacturing, warehouse then QC department finance and many more till the product reaches its destination. Tracking the shipment and updating the details is also equally important. All of that is done with no coordination between any two departments and for this reason there are huge chances of misunderstandings between any of these departments. This is another big reason behind a lot of mismanagements happening in these organizations.
Initially the ERP systems are the ones which consisted of independent modules like financial manufacturing, Human resource, Material Management, Product planning etc. then came the times in which these heads were streamlined and managed with the help of technologies like SCM, CRM, PLM, etc. These technologies proved very helpful to improve the efficacy, effectiveness and competitiveness of the systems.
CRM is perhaps the most important part of the same CRM stands for customer relationship management it actually works to manage customer grievances complaints and also to analyze different buying trends and tracking the categories being sold or not.

It helps the product feedback to circulate quickly and enhances overall productivity. Also it can get linked with third parties easily while reducing the risk in between. It also makes the network implementation and order entry as easier as possible for all. Since front end and back end is thoroughly in sync so it is very easy for all to make it work. Since the system is well integrated with every department the sales staff has a better idea of inventory and thus resulting in more confident behavior with the customers. Also, when it comes to cost savings according to many researches it helps to lower the production costs as well with the help of its production management facilities. Since the customers have a frequent and easy access to the company’s catalogue of products they can easily decide whether or not they should place the order which otherwise is slightly complicated. It also works to calculate sales prices discounts and many other aspects. Since all details are being shared on all portals and departments when the customer calls for help he gets all required information within a single desktop form one executive only.
A very common example of a successful ERP application is SAP its German software which incorporates the key business functions of any organization. It was made available for industrial use in 2006 and since then there are many reputed companies which proudly stand with it. SAP’s prime objective is to collect and combine data from separate modules to provide the organization a complete resource plan. SAP contributes in Sales and distribution, Material Management, Production Planning Logistics Execution and above all supply chain management. According to many organizations it helped in the following areas to an unbelievable extent.
There are few areas in which this app will be updated in future but still it makes no difference in its goodwill. Here are a few areas in which SAP is going to be updated in future.

According to Norris, G in year 2000 not only the companies which have the latest and successful ERP system will sustain higher percentage of profitability but also in future they are the ones who will rule the industry as their entire value chain will remain well supported. The integrated ERP can follow the market changes more promptly, it can easily manage the information flow across all departments and most importantly it can keep the back end and front end staff in complete sync resulting in higher rate of production, value for money province to customers and above all a well retained and satisfied customer database while reducing the production costs and enhancing the profits for all enterprises. There are several new e business models which are emerging in the industry which are proven to deliver.
