Discuss About The Accompanying Feelings And Coping Strategies.
This particular part is a reflective report that provides in-depth understanding about the importance of learning through self-reflection. The study by evaluating different reflective model has presented about the various components knowledge areas. An individual can gain detailed knowledge on how to enhance the skill of keen observation through self-reflection. Self-reflection is a systematic method of evaluating both strength and weakness of an individual. An individual after identifying the weakness can get the opportunity to rectify improve personal as well as professional competency. Self-reflection enables a person to learn from real experiences gathered from various professional fields.
Reflection has helped me immensely in identifying the key issues that I need to change for getting a progressive future. In order to be associated in a workplace I may have to face innumerable challenges to get accustomed with the private sector. People belonging to various geographical backgrounds and attitudes are involved in services. While maintaining a collaborative work I may have to face immense challenges in being accustomed with the people of different cultural backgrounds. Self-reflection helps to identify the issues within me. By improving those issues, I may be able to overcome my personal drawbacks after working with different people. Reflection helps me immensely in making effective decision, in enhancing my learning abilities, in improving my professional skills and talents to overcome any challenge.
In today’s dynamic World the rate of competition in every professional sector is getting high day by day (Kanarek and Lehman 2013). With the gradual progress of civilization, human being has to improve their skills and competency level to get accustomed with the dynamic rhythm of professional field (Busse, Aboneh and Tefera 2014). Self-reflection is the systematic method of making own analysis of an individual. While making a self-evaluation an individual person generally tend to highlight necessary strengths and weaknesses in general. By following different reflection model, an individual can get the scope to analyze different strengths and weakness (Brody and Hadar 2015). After identifying the strengths, an individual person can render immense prosper in life (Hadar and Brody 2013). On the other hand, after identifying the weakness the professional can get the opportunity to improve those skills. With the help of an effective reflection, one tends to analyze on how to deal with different kinds of challenging situations (Moon 2013). After being associated with an organization, professionals may have to face immense challenges. I as an individual professional should identify the challenging factors that are becoming an obstacle for my career growth. After identifying those challenges, I should increase the quality of my competency level so that I can be able to accept any difficulties facing at the workplace.
Based on the PPDI provided in this study, I have chosen Gibbs reflection model to critically evaluate my skills through different phases. Gibbs reflective model is constituted with six major phases including description, feeling, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action plan. The first phase implies a detailed description about the incident based on which self reflection is needed (Trede, Macklin and Bridges 2012). As per PPDI, it is observed that a fundraising event named “Hope for Children” is arranged in order to help Jigsaw school of Autism. In this very specific event of two days in GSM premises, a music festival will be arranged (Reeves 2012). The event aims to raise £10,000 in quest of supporting autistic children. On the other hand, this particular music event is a big opportunity for the new rising talents as well to show their music skills.
The second phase of model is feeling where I have to expose my own feeling being associated with this event. I have to play a major role in conducting in event successfully in GSM being an event coordinator. I am feeling very enthusiastic and excited after taking this kind of responsibility for the first time. It was a challenging role for me in being an event coordinator. I have to deal with the people of various cultural as well as psychological backgrounds and attitudes. Therefore, as a coordinator I have to face challenges in maintaining effective communication with every person associated with the event.
In the evaluation phase, I am supposed to analyze some of my good or bad experiences happened at the workplace. As per my good experience, I have come across numerous eminent personalities while coordinating the event. I have interacted with community leaders, performers and political figures as well so that they can attend the program within proper time. After being associated within a team, I have gathered immense learning experience. I got to know on how to manage a team, how to make effective decision and how to make a project successful being participative and collaborative.
As per my bad experience, I have faced immense challenges in maintain effective communication with eminent personalities due to my linguistic barrier. I was facing difficulties in decision making due to psychological barriers. At that time, I was unable to maintain an effective team rapport.
In the analysis part, I have made an effective self-evaluation by identifying my strengths and weaknesses. I have observed that I can easily make a good rapport to any kind of people due to my extrovert personality. At the same time, linguistic barrier is one of the most effective issues due to which I cannot maintain an effective interaction with every member of team. As a result, I have to face difficulties in providing best endeavor towards the services.
In Conclusion, I can evaluate myself what else I could have done for being more efficient as a team member. As per my strengths and weakness, I could have enhanced my communication skill. Based on my communication skill, I can easily interact with numerous eminent persons. In addition, could have focused on improving the decision-making skill as well as managing skill to conduct the program more systematically.
In the last phase of action plan, I have focused to make some implementation plans for enhancing my skill and competency level as a professional. While evaluating my strengths and weaknesses I have observed that I need to focus on decision-making skills, time management skills and communication skill to conduct the entire event more effectively.

The three primary things that I learnt from PPDI include role of good leadership, role of good communication and good teamwork. Good leadership is important for rendering motivation among the team members. Participative form of leadership style is highly important to maintaining effective collaboration among the team members. By applying this specific leadership style, team members get the scope in showing their point of views regarding the business goal. As a result, both the team members and the leaders get equal priority and response regarding the business goal. Therefore, I have learnt that implement proper leadership style at the workplace is highly significant.
From PPDI I have gained detailed knowledge about the significance of effective decision-making skill for conducting an event successfully. In order to control a particular workflow I should have the competency of making proper decision at the necessary time. Otherwise, plans would not become successful. Finally, from PPDI I have learnt that effective communication skill is also very important to maintain a good rapport with the team members. My maintaining proper communication I could have made an effective interaction with the concerned person. I have personally observed that language barrier is one of the most significant issues due to which I failed to interact with the eminent personalities for attending the event.
PPDI module has provided me additional skills and knowledge that differs from my previous knowledge immensely. In my previous knowledge, I was not very aware of various aspects of professional skills and competencies. After following PPDI module I got to know that maintaining effective team work, following appropriate leadership style at the workplace, making good rapport with the team members are parts of effective professional skills and competency. In addition, I got additional knowledge on how I would be able to coordinate a proper team and how I would make an effective balance between time management and decision-making.
While applying the reflective model, I have gained detailed knowledge on how to make a proper self-reflection with the help of various phases. By following the reflective model of Gibb, I have evaluated my strengths and weaknesses though six different phases including description, feeling, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action plan. As a result, I got the opportunity to identify my weaknesses as a professional and to improve my drawbacks by receiving effective training and development sessions.
This new knowledge gained from gained from Gibbs reflective model as well as PPDI module has changed my practices immensely. It is undeniable that as a professional I have received immense appreciation from my team members. At the same time, I am not devoid of some of the major drawbacks. I have observed by evaluating Gibbs model that I have communication issue based on which I face immense difficulties in interacting with eminent personalities.
The first part has provided in-depth overview about the importance of reflection and significance of using some appropriate reflective model for enhancing professional competency and skill. Self-reflection is a systematic method of evaluating both strength and weakness of an individual. While applying the reflective model, I have gained detailed knowledge on how to make a proper self-reflection with the help of various phases. This new knowledge gained from gained from Gibbs reflective model as well as PPDI module has given additional knowledge on how to be a proficient professional in a business field. After identifying this issue, I would be able to make an effective action plan to overcome the challenge. Therefore, in order to enhance my proficiency as a professional the importance of new knowledge from PPDI module and Gibbs reflective model is undeniable. On the other hand, by keeping my strengths I have overcome several barriers in my professional field. By using this reflective model, I have made an action plan based on the areas of drawbacks. As a result, in future I would be more competent and efficient in handling extreme level of work pressure.
In this very specific part an effective reflection is provided about my experience and knowledge gathered from the event of PPDI module. In the PPDI module it has been observed that an event called “Hope for Children” is arranged in order to help Jigsaw school of Autism. In this very specific event for two days in GSM premises, a music festival will be arranged. The event aims to raise £10,000 funds for supporting autistic children. On the other hand, this particular music event is a big opportunity for the new rising talents as well to show their music skills. The primary purpose of Hope for Children is fundraising based on which autism children can be helped in evaluating the skills and competency. In order to conduct the entire event successfully GSM campus will be used so that we do not have to pay additional amount of money for hiring venue. In addition, while conducting this event I have gathered immense knowledge and experience on how to be an efficient professional.
While making an effective self-reflection, I have used Gibbs reflective model. Gibbs reflective model is constituted with six major categories including description, feeling, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action plan. With the help of this very specific technique, I have critically analyzed my strengths and weaknesses as a professional. By describing the overall scenario about the purpose of organizing event, I have given an overview about the role and responsibility. While playing the role of event coordinator I have shared my own feeling and experience on how I have faced immense challenges in making the entire event successful. However, I have evaluated critically about my professional competency and skill. In order to improve my drawbacks I have prepared an effective action plan. With the help of this particular action plan, I got to know I need to improve on some of my abilities such as communication skill, decision making skill and so on. This particular model gave me an assurance about my leadership skill. As a leader, I can maintain an effective rapport with my team members. In addition, with the help of participative form of leadership style I can maintain collaborative work and collective decision-making.
Initially I was very much excited and enthusiastic for planning this kind of fundraising event for the wellbeing of autism. I showed my enthusiastic zeal in being an active participant of this music festival. I felt very happy to plan the entire schedule of event for two days. I intended to involve the people from various geographical backgrounds and cultural attitudes to maintain unity among diversity. In addition, it was easier for me to make collective decision regarding the success of plan. Initially, I had to face immense challenges in maintaining an effective communication with my team members due to linguistic barrier.
Effective communication implies maintaining proper interaction with each other and giving necessary feedback to them (Roeser et al. 2013). On the other hand, I have also observed that I had to face difficulties in collecting effective point of views due to the immense psychological barriers. However, the initial feeling was a wonderful learning experience where I have gathered immense feedback from my team members, be it positive and negative. On the other hand, it is also undeniable that collective decision-making is very much important in making team decision. However, while meeting with several eminent personalities for attending the event I have gathered wonderful learning experience. My personal as well as professional skill is also increased.
There are various reflective models for evaluating personal skills and efficiency (Little 2012). In addition, every reflective model has its different way of presentation but the objective of every reflective model is same that is personal evaluation through various phases (Hoyle and Megarry 2012). Therefore, while using different model I cannot change my reflection or personal competency. My way of presentation and the phases of my reflective style could have changed. Different reflective model cannot change my strengths and weaknesses. Based on my strong and weak features as a professional I would like to evaluate my competency level. For an example, Gibbs reflective model is constituted with six different phases that include description, feeling, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action plan. In this six various phases I have evaluated my personal efficiency by identifying necessary strengths and weaknesses. On the other hand, if I tend to choose Kolb’s learning cycle the way of my personal evaluation or learning method would be different from the previous one. Kolb’s learning method is constituted with four several phases including Concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization and active experimentation. With the help of these four phases, I would have to evaluate my own personal experience be it good or bad. Therefore, the primary reflection would not be changed, but the way of personal evaluation may differ from the previous model.
With the help of reflection, an individual can gain detailed knowledge on how to increase the skill of observation through self-reflection. Self-reflection is a systematic method of evaluating both strength and weakness of an individual like me. An individual after identifying the weakness can get the opportunity to modify or improve personal as well as professional talents and competency (Lumpe et al 2012). Self-reflection enables a person to learn from real experiences gathered from various professional fields. In addition, while reflecting my own experience I have identified good and bad experiences. By highlighting the bad experiences, I would be able to overcome my drawback so that I do not have to face this kind of bad experiences any more while conducting any event.
Conclusion:
In this very specific part, I have shared my own experience about the event organized for two days for the wellbeing of Autism. The event aims to raise £10,000 funds for supporting autistic children. In order to conduct the entire event successfully GSM campus will be used so that we do not have to pay additional amount of money for hiring venue. An effective evaluation is made about the reflective technique. Critical analysis is conducted regarding the importance of using this reflective model on evaluating my personal competency.
The study has analyzed whether reflection can change while using different models or not. I have observed that while using different model I cannot change my reflection or personal competency. My way of presentation and the phases of my reflective style could have changed. Different reflective model cannot change my strengths and weaknesses. Based on my strong and weak features as a professional I would like to evaluate my competency level. This very specific has provided detailed overview about my own experience of the event.
