We were assigned to cover a general issue that threatens Islamic culture as a whole in our modern time. Our group decided to tackle the topic of futurology as we expect it to influence all kinds of cultures at our modern time especially the Islamic culture. Throughout our Assignment we will cover genetic modification on humans, modern day medicines/ Drugs, Plastic and cosmetic surgeries, modern music and Islam, spreading ignorance and misinformation on the internet, choosing friends wisely in this modern day, freezing unfertilized eggs or sperm for future use.
Searching for the possibility of things that could influence Islam in our modern time was not an easy task to handle and search for. We decided to separate and divide the work between all of us and have each of us cover a general field of the main topic in order to maximize our research efficiency. In addition, our constant communication with each other and our sharing of resources we were able to extract, identify, and analyze all the information we needed to complete our project task.
Afterwards, we discussed an arrangement of a time where we would gather and practice our presentation together. We believed our constant communication as a team and keeping each other updated helped us in achieving the full grade of the assigned task.
The assignment we were tasked to complete required us to work in pairs and conduct a mock customer support case from our own imagination in order to work on our critical thinking skills and our decision making when it comes to communication whilst pertaining to our professionalism.
Throughout our assignment, my colleague and I chose to conduct an apple customer service scenario where I pretended to be a complaining customer and my colleague was assigned to the role of presenting apple’s customer service. This task required us to compel and come up with a problem on my side and my colleague having to deal with me in a professional manner. I believe that throughout this assignment we both brought out our competitive nature as we were discussing and replying to each other as I was pushing for a compensation when my colleague was attempting to just alleviate the reality of the situation and have me suffice with a verbal apology. I believe that this assignment further improved my social and negotiations skills on a professional level. Lastly, I would like to note the matter of the fact that our group received the full grade of the assignment.
The final project given to us during this course required us to work in pairs and choose a topic related and taught in the course and conduct a full research on it. We chose Foreign direct investment as it is an ever growing and ubiquitous topic that we are all connected to whether directly or indirectly. Foreign direct investment is an investment in the form of a controlling ownership in a business in one country by an entity based in another country in simple words.
The methodology we used throughout our project primarily depended on the usage of secondary resources as we dived in to the depths of finance on the internet in order to extract all the information we needed within the regards of our topic. Choosing our topic really gave us an idea of how we have developed through certain technologies and were able to create new forms of investment and also found very useful tools and modern methods that make the life of a finance or business enthusiast or major much easier.

Throughout our research of the given assignment to us we gained more insight onto how our modern age influences changed so rapidly within the last century. Additionally, we acknowledged that the development of technology is necessary for our life as we need to keep up with the rest of the world. However, we also acknowledge the matter of the fact that becoming a user or a part of this technological and futuristic revolution does not mean that you must bind who you are to the existence of such technology. Our research taught us that we are the ones who should influence the machine instead of subconsciously or indirectly find ourselves as victims of such development without even realizing it ourselves.

Throughout our assignment we had to decide and give leaders to our groups as we needed someone to manage the team and connect our ideas and problems all together in order to further arrange and smoothen the flow of the work. I have volunteered to assume the role of the group leader and I immediately remembered the skills and traits I need to polish as I discover my character over time. That said, I began by taking out a paper and a pen and just writing down all the raw ideas and thoughts that my group members came up with. I organized them and we discussed each of them extensively and we rooted our all the ideas and chose to further indulge our research in details which made our work a whole lot more efficient in anyways.
The assignment that was handed required us to discuss and find out what it takes to become a real leader. The assignment was an individual one which required us to gather as much studies as we could and openly discuss what it takes to be a real leader. Additionally, we provide personal experiences and anecdotes regarding how we could have experienced situations where we displayed signs of real leadership.
The assignment’s real purpose in my belief is to have us students identify and seek out the best traits that make a real leader in the environment that they are in. During our Business negotiations course, we were assigned to pick a partner for a mock negotiation project. The mock negotiation highlighted working with your partner in order to analyze a given scenario. The scenario was between Katherine and Alisa who work for the same company in order to resolve a dispute. The problem was between Alisa which represents other low-level employees who want to be included in the annual bonuses and Katherine on the other side whom is the Vice President of the company.
During the time we worked on the assignment, we were put in pairs in order to unbiasedly acknowledge both individuals in the negotiation process. In addition, My partner and I spent around four hours discussing the scenario that was given and dissected every negotiation strategy used throughout the entire scene. In addition, we were also assigned to present our work after we hand in the assigned report. We chose to represent the report through Prezi which gave us a lot more flexibility in design and organization. Towards the end of our task we realized that through having good working chemistry we were able to invest our time more efficiently. By the same token, we both gave each other the time to listen to all the ideas given and then spent more time discussing the validity of each individual in the case we were given.

During this assignment I was able to extract as much information as possible regarding the history and dynamics of teamwork that are used in order to achieve harmony in any professional work or task. This research provided me with more insight with regards to the benefits and drawbacks of working as a team and how to work my way around the system in any given situation. Knowing the dynamics of team work structure really helped me identify the borders and lines I can draw to make my work with a team of any kind as efficient as possible. I would have to say that I was able to learn how to become a role player that can assume any needed role in a team and thrive in it as I polish my skills over time.

The assignment given to me required sharing a previous experience of the past or a fictional experience that shows that I have taken a risk and it has proved to being successful. In addition, the assignment required talking or making up a risk that I have taken which have shown not to be successful in the end. Lastly, the assignment required us to reflect upon what we learned from such experiences.
This assignment gave me the opportunity to reflect on a professional and real-life risk that I have taken in the past. It helped me further identify what it takes to be a professional of all kinds much like a jack of all trades by the same token. I l was able to reflect on my successful experience in risk taking and pin down the steps I took that helped me reach my end result and learned to formulate them in words to further enhance my professional attitude. Likewise, I pinned down to the very details the mistakes that I have committed along the way that led me to take a risk unsuccessfully and reflected upon them to the extent of not making the same mistake again.

The assignment given to us required us to research in depth about our Saudi Arabian culture and find out the distinctions that make our culture unique, the very same values that were embedded into the founders of the country. With the time given to us, I have decided to brain storm and write down the perceptions I had regarding what our culture values as the most important. By writing down a lot of ideas I was able to root out all the ideas that I found to be less important than the others. Through this process of elimination, I was able to efficiently pick out a value I really believed to be dear to my culture which was hospitality and heavily emphasized on it in my report.

The assignment involves two team members to be working on it and was due within one week’s time.
