The Awards include National Medal of Innovation and Technology, Grammy trustees Award, PPGA vanguard Award, Samuel S. Beard Award for his outstanding public services. He started his college 1972 and dropped it in the same year (Van et al., 2017). Jobs has enrolled at the Reed college in Oregon but he planned to drop out Reed as he did not wish to spend parent`s money on it. Jobs has attended to audit his own classes that included course on calligraphy taught by Robert Palladino. Again, in 1974, he has started going to the Homebrew computer meetings club with Wozniak, who began to work for Atari. In 1976, after returning to India the company started roughly with several turbulent years in “1984” with commercial aired with the superbowl with the Macintosh introduced in same year (Yoffie, & Cusumano, 2015).
It is important to recognise where leadership style is situational and charismatic. Situational leadership style explained two set of factors under certain circumstances. Steve Jobs worked overseas and further led to cross-functional teams by identifying that situational leadership can adapt to specific cultures (Yoffie, & Cusumano, 2015). Genius in its designs, clear vision, ability to inspire trust, passion for the organisation, its legendary products, and its arrogant style was main reason of Apple`s success as he achieved same spectacular results at Apple. Jobs was not much driven by his own wishes, nasty, own ego, and self-interest needs. As far as the charismatic leadership is concerned, components of Steve`s personality consists of vision, passion, innovation, motivation, and effective communication. The features of situational leadership consists of directing, participating, integrity, and courage, where most of the leaders adapt the current climate of company for the development of the employees. Charismatic leadership enable the leaders to inspire to the higher level of performance and take deep level of commitments, satisfaction, and trust. This method of leadership will motivate particular behaviours with the way of eloquent communication. Situational leadership lead to change the style but the followers will also adapt the leadership style. This will help to change continuously meeting the needs of others in the company on the basis of situation.
Effect of leadership behaviour come up with innovation of Steve Jobs where he introduced iPod in 2001, which enable the users to playback and store music. It was undoubtedly profitable innovation. Further, in 2006, MacBook was launched where laptop computer had all abilities of desktop. The behaviour of Steve shows an adoption of rules of success such as don’t do it for money, creating the customers around, marketing is in terms of values, creating a great team, stay hungry, stay foolish have passion, and design for yourself. A situational based leader adapts various styles of leadership as per the situation with the level of development of team members. It is an effective way through which a leader can adapt needs of the teams by setting a beneficial balance to the organisation. Companies often select leaders to select organisational message by delegating work, motivating them, and depending on the needs of the employees. Employee development level adjusts as per the leadership styles as per the skills of employees, their development level, motivation, employee retention, and productivity (Avolio, 2016).
As far as the effectiveness of transformational leadership is concerned, it is seen that while leading a team, it is important to understand the change later effectively. Steve Jobs successfully thank to evolved management style and his tenacity. Job has forced the progress by motivating, and encouraging the team in a critical way to develop with something more than vision such as Steve’s team with stubbornness, belief, patience, and tenacity. This lead to importance to the teamwork for the employees as he thought of final decision on the designs of products because he says that right people are the greatest asset of company. Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower. With a yardstick of the quality, several people are not used to business environment, which is expected of high quality where each product will turn out to a huge success among the business and customers (Krapfl, & Kruja, 2015).
With the attribute of strong vision, Apple stands with higher innovation. Although it is not easy to become a successful leader without a clear vision for the company. Steve Jobs has both self-confidence and passion so that it can turn the dreams into the reality. Development of strong passion for the work helps the person to road towards the success (Waychal, 2016). Steve tries to challenge the limited strength of the employees through which it can find the actual abilities of the employee. Leadership is not about ordering people around you for the micro management. The implication of empowering employees by Steve is to motivate the employees to challenge for increased productivity and innovation (Krapfl, & Kruja, 2015). A charismatic leader strongly believes in innovation practises and approaches. The approach enables the employees to explore the full potential (Sarfraz, 2017). Steve Jobs did not want its employees to confine the efforts in making huge dollars from the ideas. With unique innovation and exciting following, he has to focus on innovation strategy. Rather than only focusing on generating money, one should focus on availing quality products and services von (Schomberg, 2019). Steve should never compromise on the perfection before launching iPod where Jobs will get to know the headphone jacks. It is necessity for conduct perfection making it a risk taker (Heracleous, & Papachroni, 2016).
By keeping it in minds, there are many lessons to be learned from jumping in the business world. With an aim to learn several things from the Steve jobs, which are helpful to the readers. Jobs took several challenges while transforming from several tiny animation house to an industry leader, which is responsible for the films as Toy story (Robinson, VanderPal, & Hoang, 2017). Jobs had exerted severe pressure and control over the business for perfection. Steve threw several prototypes of iPhone before accepting the proposal in order to retain the support of Steve where the organisation is struggling financially (Strielkowski, & Chigisheva, 2018). The criteria has analysed the investigation where the workplace culture of Apple and Job had control over its extended as the design of the company and food served at cafeteria. Employees was recruited and hired to the company as the specialist and keep into roles, which made it most of its strength to their abilities. With charismatic leadership skills and values, Jobs engaged everyone who lived touched through Apple from the senior leadership to the customers (Hammershøj, 2018). The visionary leadership named as “Steve Jobs” had created a culture. By implementing elegant interface of users to appeal the products, Job has demonstrated that there is a sum of functions (Strielkowski, & Chigisheva, 2018).
Conclusion
From the above discussion, it is seen that Jobs had exemplified the traits of boldness at emotional level. The ability of the leader is to engage into the company with the infusing dimension from producing it to see the clear vision, passionate and the quality to enhance to motivate and inspire trust. Leadership style is situational as well as charismatic indicating the competency in several areas in marketing and designing of product. With clear emotions and its impact even more than the bottom line, which is a set standard for the customer experience from the years to come. As an inspiration, Steve happens to become an inspiration for several people who can make a tech in the world. Steve`s leadership skills have contributed to turn Apple in one of the biggest technological giant. Some of the important leadership skills include visionary aspect, successful leader, development of passion, challenging the limits of the employees, increasing the productivity, following the productivity not the money with unique innovations, and not aiming to bring things below perfection, and taking risks.
