Discuss about the Leadership Qualities and Characteristics.
As rightly said by R. S. Sharma, “Leadership is not about a title or a designation. It’s about impact, influence and inspiration. Impact involves getting results, influence is about spreading the passion you have for your work, and you have to inspire team-mates and customers”, leadership is an integral part of a business organization to determine its profitability along with productivity. I have observed that there are numerous leadership qualities that a man can have and I believe that I can easily manage multitasking and I have the ability to work as a member of a team and it can also be said that as I have a certain level of emotional and cultural intelligence that can effectively help me to grow as a leader and to motivate the workforce for experiencing greater productivity along with profitability. I believe that these qualities can effectively help me to grow as a leader and therefore I should work on pollution these qualities and to develop more leadership qualities me so that I can become significantly successful in my life. I believe that would be necessary to become a leader to have these qualities as having emotional and cultural intelligence can help a leader to maintain harmony in the general workforce. It is seen that in today’s world due to the globalisation the culturally diverse workforce is common thing now a days and therefore the diversifying what force can face numerous challenges related to communication(Harbour 2016). Lack of communication in the workforce can lead to lesser productivity and profitability. It can definitely be said that communication has huge significance in promoting the productivity in the workplace. You know what place where communication among the workers is good that promotes sharing of knowledge and experiences with significant leave boosts the productivity as it negates the confusions in the workplace. On the other hand having emotional intelligence we allow me to understand the requirements of the general work force of the company which is vital to secure their loyalty towards the organisations. It is a matter of fact that the employees are the nucleus of any business organisation and in order to experience success the leaders should continuously try to motivate and enhance their loyalty towards the business organisations. It can be said in today’s world autocratic leadership may seem successful in some cases but in the business sector where I will be working my ability to work as a part of a team would definitely help me to grow as a leader in future as I believe in what type of leadership that would allow the general employees to share their feelings and their valuable inputs for a particular project to their leaders(Shah and Pathak 2015). I believe that this particular trait of mine will be effective to motivate the general workforce of the company for the betterment of the organisation.
According to D. D Eisenhower, “The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity. Without it, no real success is possible, no matter whether it is on a section gang, a football field, in an army, or in an office”. It has been already been discussed regarding the leadership skills I already possess and now in this section of the say it will be discussed that what could be the possible leadership qualities that I would like to develop for the betterment of my career. It can definitely be said that do I find it easy to communicate with people in the workforce but I think that at times I face some challenges to sustain the productive conversations with people whom I meet for the first time. Therefore it can be said that I should work on my conversational skills in order to become a more effective leader in the business organisation and that would benefit the business organisation most as if I gain the ability to sustain my productive conversations with the workforce of the company that can effectively promote the productivity of the business organisation as the workers of the company will be more motivated than ever (Harbour 2016). I believe that it would be much more better if I brush up my creativity skills because due to the globalisation the rivalries among the business organisations in the same operational market is getting fierce and therefore by utilising the creativity if I can make something innovative for the business organisation that maybe something to motivate the Walkers or that maybe something that can be directly sold to the customers in both ways it would benefit the business organisation and my credibility. Therefore I would like to consider to brush up my creativity skills in order to become a more effective leader in today’s world. In another aspect I believe there is enough room for improvement and that is the ability to understand which tasks are responsibilities can be delegated to the subordinates. I believe that I am comfortable in taking all the valuable inputs from my subordinates or the generally employees of the business organisation and then I take the decision and do the needful and that is what affects my productivity as this process consumes a lot of time to maintain accuracy. Therefore I believe that if I work on my decision making capabilities that would effectively contribute to my ability to delegate some of the tasks to my subordinates are the general employees of the business organisations as that can lower the burden of mine and I’ll be able to concentrate on more tasks and on the other hand It would motivate the employees as they will be able to value themselves more after getting responsibilities from the management(Aziz et al. 2015).
Since I have recognized my positive and negative characteristics, I have made a self-advancement intend to change things in a sorted out route, to be more proficient in acclimating to the change and to acclimatize the characteristics I wish to have. My essential target is to be predictable with my great propensities and spotlight on accomplishing the objectives I have set. At exactly that point will I have the capacity to enhance the other authority characteristics effectively. Also, I would assess myself every once in a while to check if this technique is working and enhance it as I go.
To upgrade my systems administration aptitude, I have intended to be more social and meet new individuals and attempt and start discussions with the general population around me, for example, the understudies at my college, my educators or work partners. I would like to peruse more self-improvement guides that will give me thoughts regarding how to improve myself around there. This will enable me to be more adaptable and dynamic, investigate new roads, manufacture more grounded associations with individuals and help me search out new openings. Proficient systems administration will enable me to discover occupations and meet more experts later on which will increase the value of my vocation.
I believe that if I achieve success in my career within two years’ time from now, be it in step by step, I believe I will become successful in my career, and I think that the appraisals and recognition in my workplace can measure my potential and capability in a better way.
I anticipate working towards being all the more tolerating of new things. In spite of the fact that I will try to be more open and comprehension of how change is helpful for me, I won’t not be extremely fruitful without functional application. For this I have to place myself in circumstances that drive me out of my usual range of familiarity. By putting myself out there, I want to develop to intuitively grasp change as opposed to need to dependably persuasively chip away at it. I need to evacuate the tension and apprehension I feel when looked with new circumstances; for this, I should take a shot at the way I consider this and make upgrades in my method for taking care of progress.
I would endeavour to change my attitude to have one that is open and willing to acknowledge change by reclassifying my inspirations; if my inspiration is self-awareness; at that point self-change is my spark.
I should put my endeavours in ensuring I stay on course and that I complete what I have begun. It will take a great deal of assurance for this to happen. In this way, I chose to begin little and plan my every day exercises such that it consequently empowers the consummation of my errands and it constrains me to remain on track. I believe that I will be able to achieve success in two years span.
For me Bill Gates one of the Founder members of Microsoft is one of the finest business leaders of all time. It can definitely be said that Bill Gates has achieved a lot of success due to his leadership qualities and his passion. It can surely be said that behind his success vision plays a significant role. It can surely be said that his visions has made it possible for the IT companies to make it bigger than ever it was expected. Bill Gates has become the richest businessman for a reason and unique vision is one of them. Experiencing his growth rate and the level of services and the products Microsoft is offering to their target customers it can surely be said that these all other benefits generated by the visionary man. Bill Gates understood the importance of IT and it has been seen that the increasing development of Information Technology has what is a positive catalyst behind the globalisation(Shah and Pathak 2015). Therefore behind the globalisation of the world one cannot deny the contribution of Bill Gates and his company Microsoft. Similarly I think that every individuals who Aspire to become a business leader should think thoroughly and should have a creative mind as innovation is one of the most important aspects of being a good business leader and not only good successful too (Shah and Pathak 2015).
I believe that Bill Gates is also a caring person for the workforce of the company as it is evident that all the employees of Microsoft are to some extent loyal towards the business organisation and that reflects in their productivity. It can definitely be said that as Bill Gates focuses on how to keep the workers of the company motivated and loyal towards the organisation he tries his level best to satisfy all the demands and requirements of the employees of his organisation as he rightly believes that they are the nucleus of the business organisation as they generate the productivity. Bill Gates is somewhat and amalgamation of Delegative and authoritative leadership(Aziz et al. 2015). Therefore it has been seen that Bill Gates wants to listen to all the valuable inputs that he can get from these workers and then being an excellent strategist he strategize his moves and then takes decisions and in this process he values all the opinions that he has got from the employees of Microsoft and that indirectly gives a boost to the moral of the entire workforce. Bill Gates also at times delegates some important tasks to the subordinates in order to test their credibility and that can also give some major boost to the motivation of those workers as they think that they are becoming valuable for the business organisation and that can potentially satisfy their egos (Gibson and Weber 2015).
On the other hand Bill Gates makes it sure that the employees office organisation do not get bored by the work pressure and therefore he organisers some entertainment for the employees of the organisation and he makes it sure that the brains of the employees of his organisation or not getting exhausted by tremendous work pressure by sustaining a positive work culture in the workplace which is immensely important(Shah and Pathak 2015). It has been seen that Bill Gates has achieved so much by his leadership qualities and it can surely be said that behind the tremendous success of Microsoft the leadership qualities of Bill Gates is a major contributing part. Bill Gates always made sure that the operations of the organisation and the treatment of the employees of the business organisations will be done in an ethical manner and he has successfully been able to sustain that in his organisation and that can be looked at as another Major contributor behind the success of Microsoft. As it was mentioned above I believe that innovative mind plays a significant role in determining the success of any business organisation and having and creative mind Bill Gates has rightly utilise date and due to the innovative strategies of Bill Gates the business organisation Microsoft has achieved so much in a word or in a market that is full of rivalries (Gibson and Weber 2015). Another characteristic of Bill Gates has significantly contributed to his success and that is communication (Aziz et al. 2015). As I have mentioned earlier that communication plays a significant role in determining the productivity of the business organisation Bill Gates rightly realised the importance of communication in the workplace and therefore promoted communication in the workplace that is diversified by cultural differences. In this regard it can be said that increased communication in the workplace promotes sharing of knowledge and experience is any Gates the confusions that may arise due to cultural differences then as Bill Gates proactively promoted communication in the workplace the employees of Microsoft never really faced any types of challenges due to the culturally diversified workforce (Shah and Pathak 2015).
Therefore to be precise it can definitely be said that Bill Gates is one of the legends in the business sector and a major portion of college pass outs from the business schools Aspire to become one like him and it has been seen that some of the characteristics of Bill Gates have significantly contributed behind the achievements of his and therefore I believe that if I brush up my leadership skills that I already have acquired and if I walk on acquiring more positive leadership qualities it would definitely help me to build a brighter future for my career.
