Events in current times encourage sustainable practices, irrespective of the kind of event it is. The key themes of this article are the different initiatives of the sustainable practices of events and the outcomes or results that they get. The first and foremost thing that should be practiced by every event company is economic sustainability which is the ability of an organisation to gain profit and not just survive in the market, and also provide several economic benefits to the community that they are operating in. The benefits that are enjoyed by the individuals of the community are the increase in the local wages, creation of jobs and contributing to the growth of the economy. Event organisers should also focus on the organisation of events which support sustainability issues such as efficient use of natural resources without putting a great deal of pressure on it. Not just in events, sustainability should also be incorporated in the operations of the event companies so that they are able to understand the importance of sustainability and work according to it. The methodology used in this research is purposive sampling technique and the population that was used for this study were the event managers from event agencies of both public and private sector. The study finds that the event managers supports the establishment of sustainable practices in their events. However, this sustainability was more on the side of economic sustainability rather than environment sustainability which can prove to be a great danger to the environment due to the different ill practices that are done on the environment but the adoption of these sustainable practices could prove to be a benefit for the event industry. The event mangers should support the environment sustainability as well as take green initiatives in their initiatives which would lead to ensuring that the environment and the cause of sustainability is supported. This would prove to a benefit for the event companies and also increase their profit and the support of their employees and the audience. Additionally it will also help to conserve the energy, several natural resources such as water and minimize the waste disposal in the community.
The key theme of this study is a pilot project which has been introduced by event companies and focuses on the usage of solar energy by implementing solutions which are energy-sharing. This study discusses about a new methodology which has been used to understand the innovativeness of the initiative which has been taken by the event companies and provide different technological solutions for the same. The emission of greenhouse gases have been an important concern in Olympics which gave way to the ways in which the carbon footprint could be reduced and the event could be made sustainable. For this to happen several mitigation projects were started which would help to reduce the emissions in the environment. Moreover, the focus was given to the usage of clean renewable resources to make the event a more sustainable event. To ensure the success of the aim which have been taken for this event a pilot project was started which used sun as a resources of energy since it was renewable, cheap and available in abundance. The price for the usage of solar energy is decreasing with time and this has made it easy for every event company to utilize this source for the events and even the Olympics which would ensure that the emissions of greenhouse gases are kept to a minimum. However, for the proper usage of this method, sustainable solutions both economic and technological have to be established by the event management company so that they have able to find ways which will support them to organise a better event which will be able to provide social, environmental and economic benefits. The methodology used in this study is both primary and secondary data collection. The secondary data are the previous works which has been done in this scenario and the primary data are the different calculations and materials which have been gathered to get the current situation of the initiative. Another kind of process that could be used is nuclear energy which is also cheap and clean as compared to the emissions of greenhouse gases. Further solution could also be developed which would prove to be better than the energy solutions provided above.
This article focuses on the corporate social responsibility that should be adopted by the events industry and the different sustainable practices that they should establish within their operations and their events which would help the society, economy and the environment. In this era of globalization it is also beneficial for the event companies to align to these practices wince it will have personal profits for them and help them to grow and develop in the industry. Moreover, it is important that CSR practices are adopted by the event companies since they also damage the environment through many of their events and also create problems fr4 the society. The event companies should also be ethical in their practices and understand their importance of contribution to the different sectors of the external environment. The research methodology used in this study is qualitative technique which helps to get a clear understanding of the current trends in the events industry and the possibilities that exist which can help the companies to adhere to the CSR and sustainability needs of the society, economy and environment. The study derives that CSR has become a major contr4ibuting factor to the sustainable practices of the event companies and they also fulfil their ethical, economic and legal responsibilities and also practice philanthropy so that they are able to maintain their operations in a good way in the community that they exist. Events are also an ideal way for promoting the concept of sustainability and there are many event companies who align with other corporations who want to portray their sustainable practices or sustainability as a whole to the community. Event companies should support these causes and events and work in the best possible way to ensure that these events become a major success.
In my opinion, population growth is a threat to the concept of global sustainability. There is no growth in several natural resources in the world, even though the population is growing rapidly. The renewable resources would also become extinct one day if the population continues to exploit the resources to their own will. I have derived that it is the nature of humans to over utilize every resource that they find at their disposal without understanding that sustainability is required since the future generation would also need the same resources for their survival. However, sustainability is just a concept for most people and they do not include it in their practices (Carley and Christie 2017). Seeing the level and intensity of population growth, I can say that the resources will soon become extinct if they are used in the same way by the people and they do not make changes in the way that they utilizer these resources and put a stop to the exploitation of these natural resources. The population growth have also created a huge impact on the economy and led to poverty and unemployment which is also a question of sustainability since economic sustainability is as important as environmental sustainability. Therefore, I can say that population growth have proved to be a threat for all aspects of sustainability.
