Deepto Television Overview:
Deepto Television is a private satellite 24/7 television channel. It obtained its license officially
from the government of Bangladesh in 2012.
Deepto Television has on-aired in 18th November
2015. It is a sister concern of Kazi Firms Group. Total No. of employees of the channel are
around 300.Among them about 200 permanent and others contractual. Deepto TV has become
more popular for sultan Suleiman Serial. They also provide other programs like Ben 10, Power
puff Girls, drama Palki, Aporajita. It is a mixed program entertainment based channel. The
website of the channel is www.deepto.tv .
Mission:
To be the acknowledge leader in Bangladesh media. Deepto TV mission is to ensure 24
hours of TV entertainment to the entire family.
Target is simply viewer’s satisfaction.
Vision:
Deepto Television’s vision is aims to stand out with the motto of bringing a change, creating new paths,
new thoughts and help seeing the world with a new eye. To be recognized as the Bangladesh’s leading
and most trusted media network. Deepto Television always tries to telecast new program for viewer’s
satisfaction.
Goal:
Deepto Television wants to be number one television channel in Bangladesh. Their aims to
stand out with the motto of bringing a change, creating new paths, new thoughts and help
seeing the world with a new eye.

Every organization runs under some certain departments. Deepto Television is also not
different.

Management/HR Practices of Deepto Television:
We know that in every company have their own Management/ HR practices. They follow
many rules and regulation but there are some difference practices and challenges by
company’s management. Deepto TV follows their Management/ HR practices. In below give
some practices:
1. Payroll Management:
Deepto TV has dedicated ERP based software for payroll management. Which calculates
employee’s attendance. The payroll system generates data from particular card reading
device. Overall the ERP software generates the in time out time, which later calculates them
into a report, where all the data gives an overview of a particular employees attendance
status, entries & exits, leave status and other annual activities. Thus with the help of this
device overall attendance calculation a HR person inputs the manual correction or
modification to the system for salary process.

2. Cost & Benefits:
Deepto TV has an active practice of giving benefits to its employees. They provide two Eid
bonuses annually during Eid period. Which amounts the basic of an employee’s salary? Then
it has annual leave payment which is also known as earn leaves, which is paid from the 15
given annual days if they are not been taken/enjoyed by the concern employee. There are
other benefits which are gifted for satisfaction of the employees work in this organization;
they are medical benefits, gratuity and provident fund.
3. Grievance management:
As like any other company’s in our country Deepto TV do faces some unwanted issues or incident
between employees. For the betterment of the relationship of employees and the positive growth of
the company they have a practice of commencing an inquiry committee to investigate any issues
which occurs and thus resolves them by getting full honest statements, then analysing those
statements independently and this procedure finishes by giving an unbiased and liberal decision.
4. Organisational Development:
For any company employees are the power of the business. There work keeps the business
moving forward. And by doing so gain experience and skills. Thus they deserve being
cherished and rewarded. So like other company’s Deepto TV has a practise of acknowledging
their employees for their hard work and dedication by giving them proper training and
promotions according to their needful outflows. They do this yearly and sometimes sooner
than that if a particular employee needs it earlier than the annual practise.
5. Day Care:
In Deepto TV has day care system. An employee can keep their children in day care. Without
any experience no one can do the work in day care. In day care has cc camera system. They
can follow everything.
6. Utilization:
This practice has done in every yearly. Based on employee’s performance they evaluate and
give incentive, promotion etc.

7. Compensation & Benefit:
Employee get bonus like yearly, festive bonus Eid bonus. Get compensation with good
performance. These practices also they are doing.
8. Acquisition:
In this section they recruit the candidates taking interview, after that confirmation they re-
contract for the final selection. They use both internal and external sources recruiting the
employee.
9. Employee services:
This practice is common. But many companies do not give ID card Business Card to their
employee. Deepto TV gives these kinds of employee services like E-mail address, ID card,
Business Card etc.
10. Leave policy:
They have maintained three leave policy Annual, Casual and Medical leave policy. There are
fifteen Medical leave, Annual fourteen and Casual ten. They practices these leave policy.
11. Attendance sheet update and policy:
They always updated their employee attendance sheet in the morning. If any employee came
to late then it will be count as late. Then end of the month late count and minus form the
salary.

Challenges of Management Practice of Deepto TV:
1. Talent Acquisition & Management:
As we have learnt the good practises that this company does. But they are lacking a bit in proper
identification of its new talents which will be essential for its future growth. This also brings to the
gap in proper talent management depending on the talents they already have or the up comings.
2. Pay scale:
Deepto TV has been lacking in the structural base of a standard pay scale. Which they are
working on right now. They are regenerating policies for the new standard of salaries
according to the current labour law and HR practices in Bangladesh.
3. Canteen:
In Deepto Television has their own canteen but vendor is different. Vendor is different so their
food quality is also different many. They cannot serve good food so they have to change the
vendors so it has to change. Employee fall in trouble. It quite challenging for Deepto TV.

Recommendation:
? Though Deepto TV has not difficult challenges but they have to develop their bases
and structural pay scale.
? They have to improve their canteen facilities.
? They also have acquisition lacking which is should be developed by proper
management for the future growth
Conclusion:
At the end we can say that we have discussed about Deepto TVs HR/Management practices
and their challenges. They have many management practices and implement them. But also
they have some lacking which could be very challenging in future they have to improve
acquisition and management system , and also they have to changes their pay scale. On the
other side they should manage their canteen by guid their vendor. Deepto TV can achieve
their goal if they recover their challenges.
