Central Queensland University is an Australian dual sector university situated in Queensland. The main campus is placed in North Rockhampton, Queensland. The central university has a metropolitan campuses located in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane. The campus has both domestic and international students. The University delivers more than 300 education and training programs that includes short courses, graduate, postgraduate and research degrees. The University is known for having highest ratio of students from low socio-economic background. In the recent Years University has established itself as a research focused University while collaborating with others. Their unique vision, diversity and outreach have helped them to earn recognition in the top 500 Universities of the world (VISION AND VALUES, 2017). The aim of University is to attain a significant market share by focusing on those strategies that enable more admission. Primarily, the University is focusing on the local students. They have enabled programs that have helped them to attain distinguished reputation in the society. It has a vision to develop sustainable knowledge among students and to provide them with quality education (The importance of universities to Australia’s prosperity, 2015).
They are moreover targeting on the international students. There is a larger section of society who is residing in Australia from different country. Australia is a homeland for many. As per the University site it is highlighted that there were around 5,107 international students in higher education program. This figure depicts that University is not only providing education program to the local student but also to International Students.
It is essential to take a look on the current market in order to understand the strategies (Armstrong, Adam, Denize & Kotler, 2014). This is however essential for an organization like CQU to understand the overall market strategies. This is however important to understand the overall marketing mix in order to analyze the organizational goal ( Jain & Haley, 2009; Belch, Belch, Kerr & Powell,2014)
The University is currently providing with 300 education and training programs that includes short courses, graduate, postgraduate and research degrees. The education program delivered by the University is considered to be one of the best in Australia (McMillan, Kinnear & Babovic, 2015).
The Course fees charged by the University are reasonable while comparing it with the other local and the International Universities. They are also providing scholarship to extra-ordinary students. Moreover the University has a highest ratio of students from low socio-economic background.
The University is located in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane. There are around 25 campuses and locations Australia- are providing quality education to students. Most importantly they are pioneer in providing distance education to those students residing at far places (Seary, Willans & Cook, 2016).
The University is using various promotional methods that have helped in attaining attention of local and international students. Newsletters, websites, advertisements and other mode of promotional methods are being used by the University to promote mutual interest.
The University has currently equipped with efficient staff. In order to provide quality education to the students CQU has hired proficient staff not only from Australia but from overseas as well. As per the research there are approximately 1, 378.35 staff members as on 31 July 2016.
The student across the University is competent enough to get an employment in any of the Multinational organization. They have one of the most efficient curriculum structures. This has helped them to efficiently incorporating knowledge based proficiency.
The University is using modern equipments to provide productive knowledge. The purpose of the University is to create efficient student in order to compete with foreign organization. They encourage Students to participate in global study tour. They are also providing with cross-cultural educational tours to inherit knowledge regarding international business.
The CQ University is planning to become one of the efficient Universities by 2020. They are planning to expand the educational programs in order to gain power and place. This had helped University to turn into leader in research, learning and education. James Cook University has only three campuses only in Australia. They are one of their hardcore competitors. It is important to notice that CQ University has more enrolments in term of Distance learning than James Cook University. CQ University is charging less fees from the International student. The below mentioned table depicts a comparison in between the Universities (About JCU, 2017).
The University is known across Australia for providing quality knowledge to the students. This has helped in gaining a distinguished market position. The University has increased the intake of foreign students in the recent time. This has enabled them to attain a competitive position over the other Universities. Moreover the University is providing 300 courses in different disciples. This has helped the University to gain place in the top 500 Universities in the world.
