Almost every person has cut down his work out and physical work, because of the growing sitting work which includes using brains and smart devices. Because of the sedentary lifestyle of people, the weight issues have erupted in almost all societies. People have started eating a lot of junk food and do not care much about the healthy eating as they are in hurry to finish their meals and resume their work. Because of this attitude, a lot of fast food joints have been opened, which are having facilities of pick and move. Due to such eating patterns obesity is one of the greatest threat which is prevalent I the modern age. Obesity means being overweight, beyond what is the normal weight of the person. An obese person is very lethargic and does not indulge in physical activities and is very overweight. There is no age for being obese. A person of fifty years of age as well as a child of 10 years of age has been diagnosed with obesity (Khosla 2013).
In the growing modern times, where people has learnt the need to be fit to survive in this competent world, the topic of weight loss and weight maintenance is apt. many industries have done a lot of things to make the people aware about the need to remain fit and healthy and be in proper shape and figure and hence keep a balanced lifestyle and weight along with the eating patterns (Fung 2016). the target market under this assignment can be seen all the potential students, who want to remain fit and smart to fit I this competent world and show their figures and flaunt in front of the friends. The target market also includes the young office-goers, be it male or female, who wants to be in perfect shape for their work. The people who have the habit to remain fit and healthy can also be included in the target audience. But mostly the target audience for such weight loss and maintenance includes people between age 18 and 30 years old (Ariely 2010).
Hence, the assignment is based on the various strategies which are adopted by the business houses to attracts people to remain fit and also will involve the various reasons so as to why a person should be healthy and fit.
Obesity is a great threat to the people who are suffering from it. Obesity is the unnecessary fat that has accumulated in the body of the people because of lack of physical work out and exercise and unbalanced, un-checked and un-recorded junk eating. The food rich in carbs, fats, oils, etc. are the reason why people become fat and why they become obese (Fulda 2008).
To curb the problem of obesity, the people who are actually conscious about their diet and figure and their health have started to find ways to finish obesity and hence find ways which would curb their weight from now on. People have started finding various weight loss programs and have started finding ways to manage the unnecessary body weight and hence maintain it (Karasu & Karasu 2010).
Obesity is a chronic disease and there are ways through which people can know that they are suffering from obesity and increasing weight problems.
Obesity leads to a lot of problems like heart diseases, various strokes, several kinds of cancers, breathing problems, diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis, etc. People who are overweight suffer from a lot of health issues which does not let them lead a normal life. People who are obese, because of the overweight and people teasing them, are generally very introvert and are ridiculed and made fun of. Because of this they have a very low sense of confidence and tend to be in depression (Diwaker 2014).
In the current times people have realized the need to be fit and have a controlled body weight. Controlled weight and weight management is a growing field and a great concern for almost everyone. No one wants to be overweight and people who are obese want to lose their weight to be socially acceptable. The young and the youth tend to lose weight so that they can fit in the college and are not made fun of by their peer (Smith 2017). The working people focus on remaining fit because they want to have a presentable body in the working place. Hence, to make people join weight loss programs and make them aware about the need to control and maintain weight the following marketing strategies can be used-
Give want they wish for, not what they are forced to have
When the people are obese there are various things which they are asked or actually forced to eat or do. They are often told to eat certain healthy things and cut down on the intake of fatty and oily things and also the food which have high sugar content. Mostly people are not willing to have such things and actually eat and do things half-heartedly (Strok 2016). As a market strategy, to tap the attention of the consumers, and to make them like the product, the company should survey what is there that the people want to have. Develop the goods in such a way that they are given the supplements along with the taste which they wish to have. By doing this, the company gets to have increasing revenue and sales and also the consumers tends to get what they want and hence they are satisfied (Smith 2014).
Show that the solution for the problem is complicated
When the consumers know that the solution for their problem is easy and not way too complicated, they will never seek the help of the other people or the other companies. They will do what they want and as it is easy they will also accomplish their goals very easily (Gundry 2008). So if any company has to establish their product in the market, it is necessary to show that the solution which the consumer wants to have is very complicated and cannot be achieved without the help of the other people. When the company markets in front of the potential consumer that the results which they want to achieve are complicated and cannot be achieved easily and never without the help and products of the other companies, will the consumers rush towards them. Hence, this market strategy always works as it will show the consumers that they are in the dire need to the other companies and they will never be able to achieve what they want without their help (Ludwig 2016).
Give intensives and start with the lowest possible amount-
To interest the people to take your products or take your services, the company first needs to establish themselves sin the market. For this, the company first needs to make the public aware that there is a company which will be offering such products and services. Next, to induce them to take the products and services, the company would offer free services and give away samples and hence provide to the potential customers a lot of incentives so as to make the public aware about the products which it has to offer. Slowly, when the consumers develop a taste and also become used to the products and the company gets to know that the consumers will purchase the products whatever the consequence is, the company tends to increase the price. This sort of marketing strategy is also known as the penetration marketing policy in which the company starts with lowest price, develops and taps the market, and then raises the prices to gain profits (Ferriss 2010).
Conclusion
Weight loss and weight management and maintenance is an important thing for every person. Yet weight loss is essential and can be done through ample amount of exercise together with eating right amount of food and cutting down on the intake of fast food and things having high calories like sugar, oil and other fatty things.
It is essential for a company to know the consumer market and target audience and hence increase the revenue. The market strategy which suits best is the second one. It is the best way to tap the attention of the people and increase the sales. If the solution for the problem of the people is shown as a complicated thing, the consumers tend to buy the products and take the services for any price. This strategy hence is the best to be followed (Fuhrman 2003).
