The fundamental understanding of personal and professional development plan is setting up of goals, strategies and outcome of the learning and training being imparted to the individual(Megginson & Whitaker,2017).. It is extremely essential that an individual sets out his personal and professional development plan in accordance with the goal alignment of the organization (Patton, Parker & Tannehill, 2015). Another thing which is noteworthy is that SMART goals have to be created to measure them the success and implementation in a given time frame (Olsen, 2015).
The important thing to note here is that dynamic leadership is flexible and highly adaptive; one cannot follow a given set of instructions and excel in his life. There has to be a stringent alignment of the goals, clarity of thought process and an understanding how the goals will help in developing a personal and professional development plan (Grant, 2017).
The purpose of the assignment here is to create a PPDP for leadership development based on self-reflection and insights from the learning environment. The report will also focus on how to increase self -awareness by thinking on the values which can influence life and career goals. Identification of gaps between the current capability and the leadership aspirations will also be mentioned in the assignment. Goal Setting
Goal setting is extremely helpful concept which helps the individual to learn and grow by identifying clear goals with related objectives for personal and professional development (Latham, Bardes & Locke, 2018). The first and foremost thing in creating goals for self are that the goals should hold any value and must be a reflection of the culture of the organization. Another important aspect of goal setting is that they have to be SMART goals which can be measured in a given time frame (Latham, Seijits & Slocum, 2016).
