Psychodynamic Perspective means approaching modern psychology that emphasizes the conflicts and experiences of a person over the past year. This was discovered by Freud’s theory, which says that a nonscientific approach and emphasis on the sexual and aggressive impulses have been controversial (Huffman et al 6).
Behavior Perspective is a modern approach in psychology that emphasizes the object, and that’s an environmental influence on overt behavior. Behaviorism was founded by John B. Watson. He was rejected for practicing introspection and the influence of unconscious forces.
Furthermore, Watson adopted a Russian physiologist Ivan Pavlov’s concept of conditioning, and he explained the behavior as a result of the environment or the behavioral actions (Huffman et al 6).
A humanistic perspective emphasizes each person’s inner feelings and thoughts. Humanists consider that humans are naturally good, and they possess a natural tendency toward self-actualization to power their development in all of their talents and capabilities. The theory that Roger said was that the most important thing in a person’s personality, is their self-concept and the way they see and feel about themselves.
Maslow’s theory believes that there is goodness in human nature (Huffman et al 6).
Cognitive Perspective is focused on the mental development that is used in thinking, remembering, and communication. It is a mental process that includes perception and memory. In this perspective, psychologists use the information to liken the mind to a computer that takes information and processes it to have the response. For example, a student receives a good grade in the school, but doesn’t believe that she or he deserves the grade because they don’t appreciate the hard work that they did (Huffman et al 7).
A biological perspective is focused on examining the behavior of a person’s genetics, the process of the brain, and other parts of the nervous system. From the biological perspective, psychologists look at the genes that influence the different behaviors in a person. One example is when a researcher finds the same genes that have a behavior that includes how kind the person is when doing something (8).
Evolutionary Perspective is a psychology that stresses natural selection and adaptation. From this perspective, the writing comes from Charles Darwin; he suggested that natural forces come from the organisms’ survival. This process is the natural selection that occurs in the genetic trait that gives an organism a reproductive advantage (Huffman et al 8).
A sociocultural perspective is a modern approach in psychology that emphasizes social interaction and cultural differences. A factor that influences people is religion because it can impact their mental and behavioral states. Also, the factors can contribute to anxiety. (8)
