1. For college completion, following are the phases that needs to be completed,
2. Activities in the different phases,
Planning for Going to the College: In this phase, at first the requirement to go to the college is collected and reviewed. This is important as the requirements will help me to select the subjects or majors in my study program at the college and most importantly in the selection of the college. If the requirements for going to college are clear then it will help me to select the course as per my expectations and need. Without this it may happen that due to lack of clarity in the requirements I choose a subject/ college that does not match with my expectations.
Analysis of the Requirements: In this activity I try to analyze all my requirements for which I will join and complete the college education cycle. Like joining the academic and social activities, to be eligible for jobs, job hunting etc.
Getting Financial Aid for the Course: After selecting the college it is important to find out the cost and available financial aid required to complete the college education program. For this it is important to check out the websites of the different colleges in which I want to pursue my degree. For this I have to find out the contact information for the financial aid office available at different colleges. After this I have to prepare a list of questions that I have to answer get the financial aid.
Design for the Specific Program to Study: In this phase I will determine what subjects or major I will learn in my whole degree at the college.
Implementing Schedule to attain Classes and Complete The Course: At this phase, it is important to develop and maintain schedule or time table to attend the classes, complete the projects or assignments etc.
Completion of the Graduation: This will be the last step in which I will complete my college education and get my graduation degree from the college after the successful completion of the previous phases.
3. Techniques to be used in the above mentioned different phases are brainstorming and comparison matrix. In; case of brain storming, I tried to figure out which will be the best college for me from a set of colleges that are offering the subject of my choice.
4. In this whole process, I have created the waterfall model. As I have to first clearly define my overall requirements, analysis of those requirements and so on. In this way I have to complete all the previous steps to reach to the next step (as the output of the last step is the input of the next step.)
5. In this college completion methodology I can use the tools like the decision tree, decision table etc. In case of decision tree, it is a graph that utilizes some branching method to depict every possible outcome of my any decision.
On the other hand the decision table is a structured method to formulate the different requirements while working with the complex rules that are involved in making a crucial decision. This helps me to visualize the all the possible combinations while selecting the college or the major subjects in the course provided by the college.
1. No, it is not a good idea to select and build project managers from the existing employee base. The reason behind this can be stated as lack of project management knowledge in the employees. Even though the employees have a clear idea about the requirements of the organization, but due to lack of human resource management, time management it may happen that the project may not complete in the given deadline and estimated budget.
In order to make sure the company has a strong project management skills it is important to encourage the employees of the organization to gain communication and interpersonal skills this will help to build the sense of community and team in the organization. In addition to that, it is also important to provide training about the resource allocation, budgeting for the project and business process re-engineering as the impact of a successful project.
2. Criteria for the Potential Manager
The project have to possess personal, managerial and leadership Skills. As the operations and objectives of the project have to be compatible with the objectives and operation of the organization (CLT) as a whole. Therefore in order to achieve this, the project manager have to apply the traditional management skills. In addition to this having a detailed technical knowledge about the project is also necessary. The leadership skill is important to lead the project team by providing necessary help to the team members whenever required.
The project manager must be able to anticipate different issues that may arise in the life cycle of the project. Anticipating this issues the Project manager must use their business and technical skills to plan and implement the activities to complete the project.
3. In order to ensure the success of the project, the project manager’s job will be structured in four phases. Project imitation phase, planning phase, execution phase and closing phase. In the project initiation phase the project manager will be responsible for setting performance goals setting priorities to the different activities. In the next step the planning for the different activities are developed. Along with this the interest of different stakeholders needs will be analysed in this phase. The allocation of different resources required for different activities are also done.
In the execution phase, the project manager will be responsible for adequate communication between the different stakeholders. In addition to that the project manager is also responsible for ensuring the quality of the project in this stage.
At last in the closing phase of the project, the project manager will identify the lessons learned, and the benefits realized.
4. Suggestion to Stewart
Setting Clear Responsibilities
In order attain the immediate goal to be a project manager it is important for Stewart to set clear action items. In other words Stewart have to manage clearly identify the tasks and the team members who are responsible to complete those tasks.
Managing the Risk: It is important to manage and communicate the risk at the forefront of the project team’s mind by discussing it at team meetings so that risks related to the projects can be easily mitigated by the project team.
Empowering Team Members to Fix their Issues: In a project the project manager should empower and advice the team members to resolve their issues rather than solving those issues by himself.
1. The best method to involve the users (the brokers) in the development of the project is to use questionnaire for all the users. This method is very useful in involving the users in the development of the proposed system. As the questionnaires used in the requirement gathering lack in finding out new facts about the proposed system, thus it is suggested to prepare the questionnaire by someone experienced in the field of requirement engineering with huge knowledge of the problem domain.
In order to ensure the completeness of the requirements it is suggested to check the consistency and correctness of the requirements. Along with this, it is also important to make sure that all the requirements are realistic. The consistency of the requirements refers to the situations where a specification for the proposed system does not have any internal contradictions between them. The correctness of the requirements is often more realistically defined as fulfilment of certain business goals of the business organization (in this case CLT). It is definitely the kind of correctness which is more appropriate to the clients (CLT), whose objective in having a new system for the brokers is to meet its overall business requirements.
2. While developing the system for CLT, it is important to include the customers in the development process as they are involved in the management of trade order entry, trade confirmations investment analysis reports, standard and customized reporting. The Customer involvement can be ensured using the collaborative method for this project. In this way they can contribute their ideas for the new system. In this case the involvement can be divided into three types: informative, participative and consultative. In case of informative involvement the customers provide information about their requirements from the proposed system. In case of participative involvement some of the customers are included in the system development team as the project team members which helps them to contribute to the every stage of the development of the system. At the end, in consultative method the customers are consulted in the requirement gathering stage to add some extra functionalities to the proposed system.
Edward should encourage the customers to participate in the development of the new system by providing them incentives and introducing loyalty programs for the customers.
3. In any project the stakeholder is organization or a person that is actively involved in this project, or someone whose interests will be affected either positively or negatively by after the completion of this project. Stakeholders can be external to the organization or internal. Therefore, in order to include the potential stakeholders in this project, following are the some of the criterions that must fulfilled by them.
