The AS-IS diagram that has been designed for GoCatch includes the mechanisms of booking of the taxi and cabs online with mechanisms such as availability check, response, pickup, drop etc included in the diagram. The To-Be diagram for the application includes addition of tools such as CRM tools so that the customer may share and seek feedback of the drivers and ensure that the services provided do not compromise on the quality. There is also a tracking tool that has been included in the to-be diagram that will allow the passenger to share ride details with friends and family which may be tracked from the security point of view (Patrick, 2015). Also, the process has been changed wherein when a customer drops a request for cab, it will be sent to all the drivers. The customer then chooses the nearest confirmed drivers. Then the system asks for payment type. Once customer makes the payment, booking is confirmed.
The application shall make use of tree topology in terms of the physical network topology as it will provide many access points to be present. In this manner, there will not be a single point that may lead to failure of the entire application.
Mesh topology shall be used as the logical network topology in this case as it will provide a string knitted architecture with connections and enhanced connectivity between the nodes.
Testing Type |
Description of testing Activity |
Test Data |
Functional Testing |
This testing type shall include the testing of the functional aspects of the application. There will be many functionalities that the application will have for the passengers and the drivers which shall be validated in terms of correctness and accuracy |
Test data used will be the dummy data that will have a close similarity with the real data. |
Regression Testing |
The development cycles will improve on the application as every new build that will be provided will correct the defects detected in previous build. This testing process will validate the bugs and defects from the previous build for their correctness and impact on the other sections of the application. |
Test data used will be the dummy data that will have a close similarity with the real data. |
Cloud Testing |
It will include the testing of the implementation status and accuracy on the cloud and integration with rest of the systems |
Test data used will be the dummy data that will have a close similarity with the real data. |
Load Testing |
The testing process will aim to check the performance of the application by increasing the load in terms of number of users etc. |
Test data used will be the dummy data that will have a close similarity with the real data. |
UI Testing |
UI aspects of the application will be validated |
Test data used will be the dummy data that will have a close similarity with the real data. |
A build will be released for a section of end users for their feedback and response to the application. |
Real data that is the production data will be utilized |
The testing activities will ensure that the application that is developed for GoCatch is validated from the perspective of every type of user.
Changeover and migration from the existing system to the new system that is developed for GoCatch shall be done by following the induction and completion of various steps (Majedran, 2013).
There shall be analysis that shall be done and a listing of the changes and the modification to be implemented shall be made followed by creation of a plan to do so. The changeover shall be initiated thereafter in which the migration and conversion shall begin and the same shall be regularly monitored and inspected in terms of status and progress.
The project for the creation and deployment of the application for GoCatch shall take place through a well defined process. The process shall include a series of steps in which the steps such as startup, planning, design & development, monitoring & control and closure shall be present (Kumar, 2012).
The processes that will be included in the successful completion of the project will be backed by a planning and analysis of all the aspects so that there are no errors and mistakes that may occur in terms of planning activities. Monitoring and management will also be carried out.
Conclusion
GoCatch is an organization that is present in the business since last seven years. It is required that the organization improvises on the offerings by enhancing its information system and the same has been explained in the report with the use of the online application for booking of the rides. The passengers and drivers will be the users of the application and it shall be ensured that the application is secure and there are protection mechanisms built in the application.
