In this report, ABC company has been taken, which is a small artificial intelligence company and it headquarter is located in Brisbane. It supposes that the company deals in manufacturing, mining, and transport industries all over the Australia. ABC Company also uses automatic machines for the purpose of enhancing their business. Now, the company wants to diversify or enhance their business in Asia. In Asia, the company wants to enter into automobile industry. For this purpose, the company is making strategies to use the robotic technology in the automobile industry. The company uses stationary robots such as robotic arm, collaborative robots, and parallel robots.
In this report, it also defines the various scope of the robotic technology, which is beneficial for the company. The company can save its different cost such as health insurance cost, unemployment cost, safety cost, and vacation cost by adopting the robotic technology. The company also adopts various short term and long-term strategies for betterment of the ABC Company. This report also recommends some suggestion, which is beneficial if the company follows such suggestions. This strategy helps in adopting the robotics technology and help to get familiar with the organisation.
Robotic is a division of science and engineering, which includes manufacturing, designing and operating of the robots. Robotic also deals in various fields such as computer system, sensory feedback and information processing. This technology is very helpful for the human beings because it reduces the efforts made by the human in various tasks, which are time as well energy consuming (Krishnan, 2013).
Now a day, the robots are treated as a substitute of the human beings. There are so many armies and bomb scout teams use the robots to defuse the bombs in order to save the loss of life of the person who would otherwise defuse the bombs. Various armies of different countries use robotic technology in their weapons systems, drones, air and missile defense systems and cruise missiles. There are so many car companies such as General Motors, Fords, and Toyota is also using robots for manufacturing and installing the cars (Ahlborn, 2015).
There are various types of robots used in various industries such as mining, automobiles, military, transportation and medical industries. The robots are divided according to the nature of the work such as wheleed robots, stationary robots, flying robots, swimming robots – robot fish, legged robots, swarm robots, and soft elastic robots. These robots use in various industries according to their nature.
Australia is also using such types of the robot is their various industries. In the industry of automobiles, the companies use stationary robots such as SCARA robots, robotic arms and parallel robots. These robots are mostly used to assemble and manufacture the motor parts of the car industries (Robot Worx, 2017).
Now a day, most of the countries are using robotic technology for increasing the power of the military. Australia is also using robotic technology for the purpose of defense and spy on unwanted activities. In this context, the Australian Department of Defense is using unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) robots. This robot is used for the purpose such as investigation, inspection, security missions and ordnance disposal (Keller, 2012). The Australian military also uses drones and robot fish for the purpose of investigation. These robotic technologies are also used by various countries such as America, Russia, Germany, France and Japan for the betterment of their industry and for the development of its military forces.
ABC Company is currently dealing in mining, manufacturing and transports segments. For the betterment of these segments, the company is using robotic technology. These technologies help the business to generate profits and run its operation smoothly. The company has wide scope in the segments of manufacturing, mining and transports. Robots perform unstoppable work without any rest. By this, the company can increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. Robots also save the time and do the work with perfection, by this; no one is injured by the operation of the company. The robotic provides various facilities such as self-navigation, drilling and bolting, automated loading and unloading (Karas, 2015).
Now, ABC Company wants to expand its business across the Australia and into Asia. For this expansion, the company wants to enter into automobile segment to diversify its business in Asia and Australia. For this purpose, the company has to use robotic technology to develop competitive advantage. The company already uses the robots for its mining, manufacturing and transports segment so the company also has to use robots in automobile segments for increasing the productivity and profitability (Robot Worx, 2017).
There are various companies use robots for the various purposes such as manufacturing, producing, packaging, loading and installing the goods and products. Now days, the military also uses robots for the purpose of spy and keep on eye to control unusual activities. For this purpose, the Australian Department of Defence uses unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) robot, whose name is QinetiQ Dragon Runner 20 (DR20) robot. This robot is designed for the purpose of armaments disposal, investigation, examination, and safety missions. This technology is also beneficial in the industry of mining, transportation and manufacturing because the technology of the robot helps to enhance the safety features in the mining, transportation and manufacturing industry. It reduces the human’s injuries (Keller, 2012).
Rio Tinto is the British and Australian company, which deals in metals and mining. It also uses robotic technology for the mining of iron ore. The company uses a chain of robotic trucks for loading, hauling, and dumping of iron ore. As present, the company is using 15 dumping trucks, which are operated in the Pilbara region of Australia. These dump trucks are equipped with so many features such as wireless communication system, navigation GPS system, and autonomous detect obstacles system. These features help to connect to the server and instructed by the company (Atherton, 2013).
From the above finding, the ABC Company can adopt the robotics technology, which is beneficial for the segment of an automobile. The company wants to expand its business in the Australia as well as in Asia. For the diversification of the business, the company can use various robotic technologies to give them competitive advantage as compared to other companies. For the production and manufacture of the car in Asia, the company has to use such robots, which can help in assembling the car in very efficient and effective manner. Now days, most of the companies use stationary robots (Cartesian/Gantry Robots, Cylindrical Robots, Spherical Robots, SCARA Robots, Robotic Arms, Parallel Robots) for manufacturing the cars. These robots provide various benefits like productivity, safety and it also encourages saving (Robot Worx (2017).
There are several kinds of robots, which is only designed for the automobile industry. These robots are collaborative robots, robotic hand, and robotic painting. Collaborative robots are those robots, which are performing work autonomously or may require little guidance of the human beings. Robotic arm is a mechanic arm, which is designed to perform same type of works. Robotic painting is used to paints on the cars or other products. ABC Company has to use these robots for better production of cars (Universal Robots, 2017).
Now days, there are so many companies focusing on driverless cars. The company ABC also has focused on this technology. The company has to develop such cars, which are navigated or controlled by the robots. If the company is not capable of develop such software then it has to collaborate with such IT company, which can help to make driver less cars (Reese, 2017).
Mining industry is very tough industry. It requires so many efforts from its employees. Therefore, the company has to use some advance robotic technology such as robotic trucks for the company. Automobile is an emerging sector. It also has various opportunities for the robotic technology. ABC Company has to use advance robotic technology for diversifying its business in different geographical location. The long term goal of any company is profitability and productivity. The company has to set short-term objective to achieve long-term goals. For achieving these goals, the company has to adopt robotic technologies because it is very beneficial for the company. Robotic technology is much useful as compared to humans. It has more efficiency as compared to human and it requires less cost to operate. Uses of robots save the cost of the company that would otherwise be incurred on humans. These costs include health insurance costs, unemployment insurance cost, vacation costs, and raising wage costs (Kihn, 2017).
In the field of automobile, the company has to make such type of short and long-term strategy, which is beneficial for the employees as well as for organisation. Ford Motor Co. has developed such plants, where employees and robots are jointly worked together. The company provides training to their employees by which they can familiar with robots. ABC Company also has to adopt such short-term strategy to increase its productivity and profitability. In long-term strategy, the company wants to diversify its business in various locations. For this, the company has to need skilled labors, which can operate the robots or direct the robots (Knight, 2013).

From the above information, it can be concluded that in the current scenario, robotics technology is very beneficial for the business. The organization already uses robotic technology for their mining, transports and manufacturing. For enhancing organizational business, the company also invests in the automobile industry. For this purpose, the organisation chooses stationary robots among the various robots such as wheleed robots, legged robots, swimming robots, flying robots, and micro-robots. The organization already deals in various industries such as mining, manufacturing and transport. In these industries, the company already uses the robotic technology. Therefore, it can be said that the company has familiar with technology of the robots.
It is can be also concluded that the organisation is adopting technology of the military robots. The company wants to adopt such feature, which can beneficial for the company. From the military robot “QinetiQ Dragon Runner 20 (DR20)”, the company adopts feature like observation, and safety and better control, which can enhance the productivity and profitability of the organisation. In the industry of mining, the organization can adopt the computerized technology of the Rio Tinto British-Australian company. The ABC Company has to use robotic trucks to enhance the productivity of the mining industry. It is also concluded that the organization can use the military techniques to observe and prevent from hurdles by which it can control and manage the function of the company.
It is also concluded that the robots are much better as compared to human beings. The efficiency of the robots is more than the efficiency of the human being. It has various advantages as compared to human being such as cost effectively, more capacity to work, lack of mistake, and restless work. The organization wants to diversify its business in Asia. In Asia, the company wants to enter in the segment of automobile industry. For expanding business, the organization has to use robots. It has been concluded that the company is using collaborative robots, robot arms and parallel robots for manufacturing of the cars in Asia by which the company can build competitive advantage.
From above discussion, it can be recommended that ABC Company has to use robotic technology because it is very beneficial for the business of mining and automobiles. Automobile is an emerging industry. There are various opportunities in this sector. Therefore, there is a lot of scope of robotic technology in automobile industry. By using robotic technology, ABC Company can increase its efficiency and productivity. The company can use robots such as robots arms and collaborative robots to manufacturing cars and design the cars. By the help of robots, it is easy to assemble cars in effective manner. Robots also reduce the company cost and expend, which are incurred by employees such as health insurance cost, safety cost, raising wage cost, vacation cost and unemployment cost. It also recommends that, the company have to develop such teams in which both employees and robots are working together because there so many works that human beings are well performed.
It is also recommended that the robot is useful in the industry of mining because mining is very challenging industry. In this industry, there is always uncertainty and risk occurred. For reducing risk and uncertainty, ABC Company has to adopt robotic technology. The company can uses robotic trucks, self-control drilling machine, automatic digging machine and crushing machine to increase its production and profitability. It is also recommended that company can adopt the various robotics technologies from the military robots. ABC Company can use the safety feature and observation techniques, which are used in military. By this, the company can avoid the accidents, which generally occurs in mining industry and automobile industry. It can reduce the injuries of the employees and they work safely and effectively without any fear.
