This project depicts the crucial necessity of implementing proper project management plan while constructing any project professionally. This project is about the construction of a shed at 94 Western Beach Road in Geelong, Victoria 3220, which is also known as 94WBR-shed project. It is confirmed that, for successful implementation of the construction project, the project manager and the project team members are required to follow Building Information Modeling (BIM) model and the standard 2D modeling approach. With the help of 2D modeling and blueprint designing the construction of the 94WBR-shed project will become much easier to the project manager. The basic project information and the other requirements assumed for this project are elaborated in this report. The total land area estimated for the 94WBR-shed, is 104.65 m2 and the project is expected to be completed within (25/4/2018 to30/5/2018) with a budget of $50,000. The construction project tam is comprises of project manager, labours, contractors, finance manager, electrician, plumbers, three carpenter and project sponsor.
The tools and techniques that are to be used for the successful implementation of the construction project include: risk management, time and cost management, stakeholder management, communication management, human resource management, procurements management, safety management and quality management.
The scopes for this particular project are as follows:
Project specification is referred to as the SMART objectives which are generally developed at the very project initiation phase. In order to implement any project successfully it is necessary for the project manager to develop a project SMART objective for timely successful implementation of the project. On the other hand, the parent organization industry shows the ownership structure through which the roles and responsibility of each and individual involved to the project can be easily determined. Though, based on the skills, knowledge and efficiency the resources should be allocated to different task. If the labours and other stakeholders appointed for the construction project are found to not have enough professional knowledge then the entire project will be a failure.
Recommend feasible project team
Project feasibility is referred to as a viable idea that gives the project team member and the project manager an idea about whether the project outcome is feasible or not. Feasibility study makes sure about the additional requirements those are to be incorporated to the construction project so that it can meet the expected project outcome. The feasible project team defines the organizational structure that should be followed by 94WBR-shed project before the implementation of the project. The organization structure of the project is given below:

Tool that has been proposed: Stakeholder map
User: Project manager
Function: The stakeholder map and stakeholder analysis will help to identify the influence and impact of the stakeholders in a project. In order to identify the opinion of the stakeholders this tool is very much helpful
Proposed tool: staff management plan
User: Project manager
Function: For the small projects this particular tool is very much helpful. In this particular approach the responsibilities, timeline and the description of the roles of the resources can also be defined.
Proposed tool: Check sheet
User: Project manager
Function: With the help of the check sheet the current status of the projects and the expectation from the project can be identified accordingly.
There are different reasons for which the construction projects are required to adopt proper demolition method. The design if every building or a structure has a particular life span which is also called as design life. The term demolition process means destruction, removal or breaking down a complete construction project in small parts. The demolition of the construction is the process of dismantling the structure after the completion of its serviceability span according to the pre planned and controlled methods. There are different steps such as survey, removal of hazardous materials, planning preparation and safety measures included in the construction. For this 94WBR-shed project, the recommended demolition method is preparation of a perfect demolition plan. For the 94WBR-shed project the proposed demolition plan is made and that is illustrated in below:
After analyzing the detail requirements of 94 Western Beach Road in Geelong, Victoria 3220, [94WBR-shed project] construction project it is found that within 6 weeks the projects should be successfully accomplished. In addition to this the total budget that has been estimated for the 94 Western Beach Road in Geelong, Victoria 3220, [94WBR-shed project] is $50,000. It has been assumed, that all necessary operational and functional activities will be followed properly by the project manager and labors for developing the construction project.
The project is about construction of 94 Western Beach Road in Geelong which is also known as 94WBR-shed project.
Project scope management for 94-WBR Shed
In order to manage the scope of this construction project the project manager and construction architect should design the blueprint of the construction initially using the concept of building Information modeling. After analyzing the entire requirement of the project the large project should be divided into small segments. Then the complexity of each of the activity should be measured. After that based on the complexity of the project activities the resources are also allocated to each task. After creating the WBS, the outcomes of each phase should be tested and validated. Then a scope control plan should be implemented for the construction project for successfully complete the project within estimated time and cost.
Risk management plan for 94-WBR Shed
In order to control, minimize and resolve the risks it is necessary for the project managers to follow four steps such as risk identification, risk assessment, risk analysis and risk control strategies development. In the risk assessment phase the factors those are to be considered include identification of hazards, the affected area, evaluation of the risks, defining proper control measures, recording all necessary findings from the risk assessment, for the residual risks development of proper contingency plan. For this project the risk control measures are aging divided in three parts such as reducing risks, retaining the risks and removing the risks. It is the responsibility of the project manager to create a risk register to prioritize the risks.
Communication management plan for 94-WBR Shed
Communication is the most important thing that should have to be maintained by the project manager and the project members for the successful implementation of the project. Three different types of communication approaches are there such as upward communication, downward communication, and parallel communication. For this particular construction project the project manager must ensure that the project team members are using open communication for communication with each other. With the help of open communication the project team members will be able to share their point of views and innovative and creative ideas with the project manager. Open communication delivers a free working environment to the employees.
Procurement management plan for 94-WBR Shed
Procurement management is an important part for the construction project. This is a critical part of the project as in this phase the construction project manager has to select the sellers, bidders and the raw material suppliers also. If the project manager fails to select these components then the entire project will be a failure. With the unsuccessful implementation and consideration of these factors the project will be at risk in terms of quality, cost, scope as well as schedule. The components of the procurement management plan include stakeholders, contract type, contract type, documentation, time and schedule estimation, WBS preparation, constraints assumption etc.
Stakeholder management is referred to as a plan through which a strong relationship can be build among the interested group of stakeholders and the project owners. This will impact the project outcome. It can either be a positive or a negative influence from the project perspectives. Thus this is the responsibility of the project owners to manage the project stakeholders properly for minimizing the negative impacts and all other obstacles accordingly. In order to prepare the stakeholder management plan for 94WBR-shed project, two factors are individually analyzed in terms of power and interest. The interest of the stakeholders will be high if they are informed timely and managed closely and it will low for vice versa.
HR management planning for the 94WBR-shed project is another important part that has to be considered for managing the resources accurately. There are three major processes such as organizational planning, staff acquisition planning, and team development for managing the human resources of the project. Based on the skills, interest and knowledge of the resources they should be hired and appointed to the project development team. The project manager should possess good relationship with the project team members and must motivate them so that they can deliver their desired job roles. Only the expected staffs are to be assigned for the project for its successful implementation within estimated time and budget.
The key success of any project is directly related to the quality of the project. At the project initiation phase based on the project requirement the project manager should look for the raw material suppliers, project team members because the combination of team member’s skill, raw materials and support of the project manager can evaluate any project successfully. For 94WBR-shed project the quality is about its sustainability. The constructors should construct the road in such a way so that it can take the load of the vehicles properly without any kind of damage. Thus the composition of stones, sand and cement should be appropriate for delivering quality outcome.
Time is an important constraint for the successful implementation of the construction project. If the project timing is not maintained accordingly then, then it will also negatively impact the project budget. After analyzing the details requirements of the project background it has been found that then it will not take more than (23/4/2018 to 30/5/2018). Rather it can be said that, for the successful implementation of the project the project manager and the project team members should give timely efforts on each of the project activity.
Based on the project requirements it has been found that the project is required to be completed within the estimated budget of $50,000. The project sponsors and contractors are hired for this project based on the requirement. At the project initiation phase, a feasibility study should be done to make sure that the project outcome is beneficial or not. The steps those are followed for the successful development of the cost management plan for the 94WBR-shed project are as follows: resources planning cost estimating, cost budgeting and cost control. The cost management plan covers the entire project life cycle. However, the investment from the project sponsors are other important thing that has to be considered.
In order to implement an improved safety management plan for the project the steps those are followed include: spreading proper safety awareness among the project team members, creating proper accountability at all the level of development, proper safety awareness program, the contractors are pre qualified for the safety, Focus on proper fall protection, regular field safety inspections etc. All preventive measures for securing the labors who are working for the project are needed to be considered for the successful implementation of the project. Weekly meeting is required to be arranged by the project manager and the project team members should make sure that they are attending the meeting accordingly.
The integration management plan is referred to as an information delivery approach that combines all the factors accordingly. It is necessary for the project manager to integrate all the tasks together so that the issues of the construction project can be minimized and the project manager can deliver the most appropriate delivery approach to the project consumers. Integration management plan is consists of the following phases in terms of quality, cost, time, contract, tender etc. The necessary functionalities and all required operations are required to be integrated all together so that it can deliver the expected project outcome.
