In recent time, I was part of a presentation workshop, where I discussed the topic “Questioning”. Along with my other presentation partners, I contributed to the discussion related to questioning and the different associated with it. My section in the presentation was discussing the significance of questioning.
As understood from what I have learnt from my workshops and class lectures, a team would perform well if it has a good relationship among the members. As we commenced with the presentation workshop, I was apprehensive about my team is not a typical high-productive one. However, after completion of this workshop presentation, I believe I was part of a unique team in which every member had their special characteristic and that each one complemented the other. I think what is important is the composition of a team. There is a need to form a team with the right kind of members so that a high-performing team is formed. I consider myself lucky to be part of a team where everyone wishes to reach that stage (Myers 2014).
Many people think that the task component is more important than the relationship component in a team. However, it is my opinion that both have an equally important position and complement one another. What made our team eventually develop into a high-performing team is the good relationship that was established along the way of the presentation. With time we all grew closer and started developing a sense of belonging within the team. It felt like a “we’re all in this together” kind of feeling. We wanted everyone to perform well because we are a team (Rivera-Pelayo et al. 2012).
I am writing this essay for showing the reflection of my experience at the presentation workshop I was part of and how I fared and what I learnt. Based on my experience I would be forming an action plan for my future approaches. This essay would be consisting of an introduction to the reflection theory that I would be using to structure my reflection. I would be using Gibbs Reflection Cycle (1988) in which there are six sub divisions: description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action plan for my future.
Gibbs Reflection Cycle motivates the development of a clear description of any situation, analysis of any feeling, evaluation of the gathered experience and another analysis for making sense of the experience garnered so that it can be assessed what to do if a similar circumstance arises in future (Gibbs 2013).

The first stage of Gibbs Reflection Cycle asks for a description of the events. I formed a group of five members including myself. We all divided the work between ourselves, and I was given the responsibility of discussing the importance of questioning. While planning for the presentation, I felt overwhelmed and chalked out strategies and steps for myself to proceed with the presentation. At first, I analyzed the whole situation and the audience I would be presenting to. I tried learning more about the audience to whom I would be speaking. I tried obtaining information about their background, interests and values so that I can understand what they can expect from my presentation (West 2012). Since the selection of the topic was already made, we did not think about that section. Members defined the objective of the presentation in their way so that throughout the whole presentation coherence is maintained. Based on the objective we divided the responsibilities to individuals according to their comfort level. The content of the presentation was composed after defining the objectives. The amount of information to be presented was decided and measured so that it does not exceed the time provided to us. Data and facts were included in the body of the presentation. Expert quotes, personal experiences and vivid descriptions were included. All the group members practiced delivering the presentation, keeping in mind what we want to deliver. We used a different combination of methods for delivering the presentation that included speaking from memory, text and notes. It has helped us deliver a smoother presentation to the audience (Johns 2017).
The second stage of reflection inside Gibbs Reflection Cycle asks for describing the feelings I experienced regarding the whole presentation and my learning. As I remember on my presentation and the arrangement that when into it I am amazed by the outcome I have gotten from this one little exercise. This was my first reasonable presentation in quite a while like this I did not have much work on appearing over the most recent couple of years and anticipated that would do a large measure of work preparing for it. Regardless of the path that there was a large measure of work in the plan for this development, changes can be made (Bartsch, Case and Meerman 2012). While considering my accessibility and how I gave my presentation I for one expected that I honed it enough before my accomplices heretofore to ensure about the substance and my talking limit. I was told in the data that I had a normal clear volume, without question non-verbal correspondence and overwhelming eye contact. Regardless, I talked rapidly now and again, particularly advancing start with one slide then onto the accompanying. In similar way, I looked phenomenal while showing in light of the way that I did not grin, and I was beset. In the wake of investigating the data that I was given, I now grasp that I anticipated that would grin more to comfort myself and my get-together of observers and I foresaw that would set aside more important opportunity to enable my party of people to ingest the data on each slide with the target that they didn’t feel surged. In light of present circumstances, I could have recorded myself showing the slides starting at now with the target that I could see firsthand the positives and negatives of my non-verbal correspondence and voice. From this, I would could update my introducing aptitudes and feel progressively certain when showing it. On the off chance that I anticipated that would do the presentation again, I would hone my presentation to a wider get-together of individuals so I could get more commitment on my demonstrating style. In similar way, I would have worn down taking a delay in the midst of slides and made a sentence to the state to relate each slide to make the presentation stream thus not to lose my social event of observers (Pearson 2012).
Before I began this action, I truly did not know the measure of work that would go into a presentation. I thought I could gather a presentation in 20 minutes and research it once and be set up to present it. I now comprehend this is not sensible on the off chance that you need to make a decent presentation. My slide indicates alone took ideal around an hour to pick what may go into it and make it. I then anticipated that would investigate it and look at things I would state amidst each slide as the slides contained essentially little bullet points that should have been additionally cleared up. Commonly in a general sense, additional time would need to go into investigating the point of the presentation as I was incredibly okay with the subject and anticipated that would examine some little parts. In a relationship with the certifiable substance of my presentation, I felt that I merged all the essential data in relationship with my future employment plans. From looking data, I had a superior to the normal presentation, clear structure and unprecedented explanation of cases from tending to. In any case, a portion of the slides was to some degree tedious, and I essentially included a couple of pictures since I felt that it was hard to discover ones identifying with my substance (Ryan and Byrne 2013). Moreover, when I utilized the specific technique, I missed the “result” part on a section of the diagrams. I see now that I foresaw that would utilize more pictures to address more visual learners and like this make the substance all the all the additionally beguiling with my social event of people. On reflection, I could have utilized an all the moreover delighting presentation diagram through utilizing Prezi. From watching one of my partners utilize this thing, I have come to appreciate that if I did the presentation again, I would utilize Prezi in light of the degree and broadness of it and thus of it’s in the current style look. Furthermore, I would have contributed greater essentialness evaluating over the substance to ensure that I had completely kept an eye on every one of the parts (Conboy et al. 2012). I besides found that if visual aid will be utilized for the presentation, similar to a power point presentation a great deal of work needs to go into making and ensuring that the visual aid isn’t the entire presentation and that you have particular notes to help with it. It is besides essential that if visual aid will be utilized you ensure that it will work at the time of the presentation. I didn’t think this was an essential issue with my presentation as I tried to have a more significant number of things to state than correctly what was on the slides and coming about to seeing a power point presentation that didn’t wear out the PC I made a point to test mine before the presentation to ensure that everything was working fine. I found that structure of the presentation is fundamental so that the social occasion of observers can tail it and understand the presentation. I had an issue with this in my presentation (Vance, Kulturel-Konak and Konak 2015). My presentation was insufficiently dealt with and along these lines hard to take after. For future presentations, I will attempt to pick a structure that will suit my subject. Finding what data is immense to a presentation is key with the target that you ensure that you show enormously key parts of the subject and don’t make it monotonous for the addressees. I had a little issue with this in my presentation. I increased excessively and ignored key data about (Gould and Taylor 2017). For future presentations, I will attempt to make the data in the presentation more material to the social affair of observers. Dread is an important issue for a couple of people amidst open talking. I was to some degree anxious amidst my presentation, and I imagined that it might have accomplished me neglecting parts of what I would state. I imagine that strain is an issue that must be understood with understanding and each presentation I accept that I will indicate a change at administering it. The vehicle of the presentation is pivotal for its prosperity. The vehicle of my presentation could have been something more. My voice could have been louder and more assortment. I think the reaction to this issue is to sharpen dynamically while preparing for the presentation (Scaife 2014).
I am to an extraordinary degree favored to sort out with everybody in our social event approach, and they are amazing sidekicks who constantly invigorated my cerebrum and lit up my innovativeness amidst our party work. As we have five individuals in our party, we contemplated the probability that two of us pleasingly show one session. I have organized a different game plan for our presentations, however, amidst the presentations, I experienced the substance rapidly and occasionally required explanation. The position and talk speed were not proper. Later on, I ought to give careful thought to the voice speed, position, development, and interaction with the social event of individuals. I will attempt to defeat my pressure and be even more without question and intuitive in the presentation (Al-Hebaish 2012). I think our social event attractively drew the affiliations and examinations concerning fragments related with tending to. Besides, I feel that by our presentation and class works out, and we helped different people comprehend the terms and the field of research. In any case, we are still in our approach to managing the wind up discernibly different scientists. What I got from this get-together undertaking is aptitude regarding the matter, and likewise strategies for looking at. The meander contains various attempts – investigating paper, picking analyzing materials, planning presentation content, making a power point, and in class presentation. These errands were attempting, however, critical for me. I think this meander is only a beginning in my literary life (Malone 2013). My experience of working in my social event was that we built up a not all that awful fundamental leadership handle which we could use to connect at a typically concurred conclusion on the greater bit of subjects that we examined. We in like way set clear limits about how the get-together would work. The great basic anxiety that I had when leaving on this get-together work exercise was to guarantee that every individual from the social gathering, including myself, would be moved nearer with respect and in a pleasing way (Supmonchai and Maneeratana 2012). My experience of advancing toward others with yielding, for instance by soliciting whether somebody has appeared well and good from how to complete their bit of the errand as opposed to requesting that it be prepared, was stamped to a great degree by my accomplices for empowering correspondence and union inside the get-together. There was another degree of individuals in the social gathering of which I was a fragment, and furthermore a broad assortment of character properties including free thinkers, outgoing individuals, the general population who were better at considering contemplations and the general population who were better at the whole side. Instead of making difficulties, these capabilities genuinely proposed that our talks were more changed and fascinating and that our social occasion worked honorably through each part playing to their individual qualities. I most certainly learnt a broad measure from the get-together individuals who were more arranged than me and felt that I profited an unfathomable approach from watching the making course in which they advanced toward settling strife to go to a reasonable gathering accord (Bullingham and Vasconcelos 2013). The path in which we, as a rule, acknowledged considering the standard procedures on a first day made a solid solidarity, an essential point of view in the operative association of orchestrated qualities. Fight routinely happens in most gathering errands in this way of social event individuals having contrasting qualities, aptitudes and experience. This was in like the way my experience of the get-together work. At points all through the technique, there was a piece of normal differentiation about the bearing that our battle presentation would receive and the best procedure to finish our exercises. I found this actuated other party individuals to appreciate logically and additionally impel hypnotizing exchanges that made further adroit thoughts. I found that the power modifies genuinely equivalent in our get-together, paying little regard to the degree of ages and identities that were tended to. The central issue that rose was that one of the young women in the get-together endeavored to summon every so often by inspiring others to think in a vague course of her. As the other social gathering individuals were more make and open to other individuals’ data, we could deal with this by controlling the dialogs down a more prominent gathering arranged way (Seth 2013).
Considering, I watched the social affair work to be a remarkably edifying trouble concerning the significance of being able to work decently in a get-together. I have been panicked to parts of my lead and characters, especially as to interactions with new individuals, of which I may find some way or another have stayed unmindful. The first edge that I may need to redesign is my sureness, which will empower me to contribute a more significant measure of my insights to get-together work. This will help me at school and moreover in my future work participating with a multi-disciplinary social affair. With everything taken into account, I discovered Gibbs’ model important in concentrating on each of the specific regions of the commitment recalling the genuine target to study my qualities, for example, fantastic joint exertion and completing assignments methodically, and in like manner regions, for example, those foreordained over that I may need to make strides (Goodman and Huckfeldt2014).
The general objective of my action plan was to change my obsession slant. My capacity to center has dependably been a nature of mine when related in an individual setting. Regardless, I understood that connection diagram meander would enable me to practice this fitness in a social affair setting. My target explanation was to come planned to each presentation in light of a created plan or recorded. My actions steps would be the following:
In the context of these actions steps, I knew I would need to use some of my other leadership characteristics, for example, my capacity to pass on appropriately and my capacity to remain charged. Instead of watching out for every individual action step portrayed above, I will delineate particular cases that demonstrated my triumphs and disappointments in transit.
Conclusion
The entire study reflects on the group presentation activities by utilizing Gibb’s reflection model. The entire phase of this group presentation has been much promising for me. On one side, it helped me in strengthening my analytical power of demonstrating a subject matter with the help of the group mates. Similarly, on the contrary, it was much challenging for me. The dimensions associated with the Gibb’s Reflective Model are quite helpful for me to understand the self-potentiality along with the underlying weakness. Even though it was much helpful for me to work on this subject cohesively with other teammates, the task made me nervous to some of the extent. During such period, I have realized that I lack the normal sense of consciousness that makes me more nervous. In the evaluation process, I have identified the positive and negative impacts on the group discussion process. The entire phase of this group presentation has provided me adequate knowledge about the proper behaviour and attitudes that I need to maintain in future. In fact, it is important for me to pay the closer attention towards such determinants and accordingly develop the action plan. However, the entire process helped me in strengthening my analytical power and guiding the right path to overcome the underlying challenges as well.
