Young people attitude towards a fitness gym or club is a worrying fact for the youngsters and for the nations, they represent. Despite of the facts that physical exercises are a good source to maintain healthy living, youngsters are not inclining towards the concept. This is because of such reason that the Gym Chain in Australia is initiating some strategies to attract common people especially the youths towards the concept. Youngsters in particular have fewer interests towards the concept. This could be because of many reasons such as their busy schedules (Lloyd et al. 2013). The main purpose of this assignment is to write a reflective journal on the chosen topic based on the different lectures that are provided.
Nature, process and strategy of business research
The nature of the business research is a qualitative study, which is trying to yield the most accurate results on the chosen topic.
The process used to attain the results is the literature review and the research proposal. Literature review is based on various available secondary resources whereas the research proposal gives the design of research and the data analysis method. The research would be based on primary resources such as the structured interviews and the online questionnaires. Both the process are necessary to get the most accurate and feasible results on the chosen topic.
The strategy for the business research is to conduct study on both the primary and the secondary resources. The primary resources would be qualitative in nature, as this would mainly include a structured interview and an online questionnaire (Creswell 2013).
The research design for the chosen subject topic is qualitative in nature. This is because this would give answers that are more accurate. The reason behind this fact is the nature of the design. The research design is of two types such as qualitative and quantitative. Quantitative research refers to close ended questionnaires, which is generally conducted in the form of an online survey. This includes some primarily given options, which the participants have to answer. These kinds of responses are less in quality as they are not specific to the respondents. However, qualitative research design is more specific and a very good resource to reach to some notable findings. Qualitative research design contains questionnaires that are asked during an interview with the participants. This indeed is more specific because respondents have wider chances of answering to most of the questions in detail (Patten 2016).
The literature review has tried to find out some possible causes behind the changing trend of youths towards the physical exercises. The literature has found some interesting facts about the youths for their changing trend for the physical exercises. Youths generally have less time for spending their some moments in some gym (Staiano, Abraham and Calvert 2013). This is because of their busy schedules. However, the literature has suggested that physical exercises are a good source for the academics (Gladwell et al. 2013). The physical exercises would keep them freed from stress, which is a key to success in academics. The literature suggest this as well that leisure gym are a good resource to various activities such as muscle making, body building, weight lifting, fitness exercises etc (Silva et al. 2014). Interestingly, the literature has found some other facts as well such as distances of women from weight lifting (Babic et al. 2014). The literature has shown some concerns to the women because they are believed to be objected by their male partners for doing weight lifting (Hopper and Butler 2013).
The research proposal does also include the ethical consideration for the research. The research proposal has helped to understand the importance of ethical considerations during the research. The research generally includes the answers of different respondents who participate in the research through the means of a structured interview or an online survey. It is the utmost responsibility of the researcher that it provides high privacy to the answers of the respondents. The section lets its reader understand that the gathered information of the respondents is required to be kept secured. Moreover, these are needed to be protected from getting published anywhere else (Hair 2015).
The nature of the qualitative research is more specific to the subject topic. The researcher has chosen a structured interview for the purpose. The researcher is aimed to get the most specific results from the interview. Qualitative research chosen for the topic is rightly justified because it helps to find the more accurate results. For the sampling of the data, the researcher has chosen the three different branches of Gym Chian in Sydney. The researcher has divided the participants of the gym into two sections such as young male and young female. This would probably help the researcher to find results that are more accurate from two different groups (Hair 2015).
A structured interview is taken as a strategy and a data sampling method to find out some specific and useful data on the subject topic. The researcher has picked three branches of the Gym Chain in Sydney for the interview purpose. The researcher has divided the young members of the gym into two groups such as young men and young women. The focus group for the research is all the young aged men and women. This is because it would help the researcher know about the possible reasons behind the changing nature of youths for the leisure gym (Vierimaa et al. 2012). The mode of communication for the research would be English. This is just to attract more participation from the members. Nevertheless, English is the most common language spoken in the global world.
The researcher has chosen the qualitative nature of data analysis. This is because that the researcher is focussed on getting findings that are more accurate on the subject topic. The qualitative data analysis includes a structured interview, which is open ended in nature. This is a good source to get detail findings on the chosen subject topic (Creswell 2013).
The nature of quantitative research is based on numbers of respondents. The sampling method involved in such research is close ended in nature. This mainly includes the findings of the data based on some online questionnaires in which respondents are provided with a pre labelled options for a particular question as well (Patten 2016).
Structured interview and questionnaire designs have been used for the participants of the three branches of the Gym Chain in Sydney. Structured interviewing provides enough time to the researcher to know the subject topic in detail. This is actually better than the online survey, which is less specific and les in quality as well (Hair 2015).
A structured observation and content analysis provides a depth understanding of the subject topic with the help of interview data samples. The researcher has chosen the qualitative research design for the chosen topic. The researcher wanted to get the most accurate and depth findings on the subject topic, which is best possible with the qualitative research (Creswell 2013).
Conclusion
The subject topic has been tried to support with some findings from two studies such as literature review and research proposal. The researcher has chosen the qualitative research type to get the depth findings of the subject topic. The researcher has used structured interview questionnaires to conduct a depth analysis of the chosen topic.
