Interpersonal communication is one of the best processes of communication in this modern day. It is one of the important parts of the organisational culture because the interpersonal communication develops the communication system in the organisation and also takes the communication process to the higher level. The method of the interpersonal communication means a person is expressing his or her feelings with the help of the verbal and the non-verbal communication. The interpersonal communication, the process builds good relations with the customer and the other members of the organisation. The effective interpersonal communication helps to build the coordination among the employees of the agency. This assignment is the reflection of the interpersonal communication skill which is going to develop with the aid of the different strategy and the practices.
By the help of different Diagnostic tool and analysing my communication skill. Johari window is one of the traditional and very much simple to which contributes to illustrate and also provides to improve the understanding of the interpersonal communication in different members in a group. Johari window has 4 type of division those are an open area, hidden idea, blind area and the unknown area. It has been a long time that I am working in the organisation, and I am a permanent member of the team. I am facing no problem regarding the communication because I am communicating with my inter-team or with your organisation successfully and I’m using the effective verbal communication skills. I am very much comfortable when I am using the verbal communication because in verbal communication I can present myself my mental attitude and wall language in a proper manner, so it will be understandable for the person who is standing opposite me and also it will be helpful for the person to communicate with me. I am very much expressive on the other hand I am also emotional.
I am very much able to meet my choices, and also I can take the responsibility on behalf of my team. Sometimes I use the non-verbal communication skill in the blind areas because those areas are not known to me and for that non-verbal communication is the best process for the communication. By the non-verbal communication, a person can understand motions are the effectiveness of the communication which is reading or receiving the message. I am very much able to accept the compliments from the others, and also I can take the drawbacks of my communication when someone is complaining. My team member used to say that I have a real power of listening and I am an active listener.
On the other hand, it is very much hard for the others to accept my aggressiveness especially when I am tired of the job. Due to the workload for the work pressure is to be the bad receive reading my area or during my job. So sometimes it becomes hard for the team member to accept my harsh behaviour. I know that I have a positive perspective for each and everything, but then also I am having some problem in some areas of communication. There are many times where are used to avoid any concentration when I am guilty. In this case, I am facing problem to understand the communication strategy that I should adapt during facilitating communication with others (Piller, 2013).
The questionnaire helps to discover the to improve the communication process of the individual. The questionnaire loves me to understand the approach and the attitude of my communication. By the help of this communication style, I have come to know that I am an active listener, but on the other hand, I am very much professional so that I am interested in the fact that I am feeling. It is my habit that I used to check the statement of the other people, but I love to talk rather than thinking huge ideas. During my starting this I have faced a lot of difficulties reading my communication skills which is one of the drawbacks of a person. It is hard to find to get back to the topic on the flow after an interruption.
There was some point when I used to express my feelings during the conversation, and also Ayurveda shows me during a well and a good discussion. By the help of the questionnaires, I have come to know there I am very much effective during the time of discussion because in that I am very luckier to insert the correct word to express my feelings in a right time. It is my nature that during the conversation discussion I used to observe the body language of the listeners who is listening to me. There is some point well I become confused due to my workload, and it becomes very much hard for me to anticipate or predict the possible causes. And at that moment if I was an annoying conversation it becomes hard for me to concentrate on that and it can be understandable clearly by my posture and my body language (Burleson, 2010).
Any person looks for the opportunities and the pressure by the help of the assertiveness questionnaires. There are only two types of an answer to the question is that is true or false. By the aid of the assertiveness questionnaires, I have come to know that I don’t use to hide my thoughts and my feelings to the unknown person because I think it will help to build good communication system the hidden areas and also with the unknown person. On the other hand, I can say that I never use to dominate anyone during the time of communication. The question as described that I have an active listener and also there is no problem where I am going for the face to face interaction with the other people (Zohar & Polachek, 2014).
It is my nature to present the actual me not the virtual me in front of everyone. As far as my nature I become very much aggressive regarding the work point there are some points where I used to participate for criticising other people. It happens only when facing a lot of work pressure. Has been proved by the question that I am going with friends in nature and also all very much simple person but there is some situation especially during the emergency time I become very much exploited and exhausted. It is my nature or habit that I don’t use to participate in any argument which can destroy the right image of mine in front of others. By the help of the aid of the big five personality traits, I can judge, or I can understand my interpersonal communication. The big five personality traits have been divided the five difference parts and doors different parts openness, agreeableness, neuroticism, conscientiousness and extraversion. Undergone the big five personality test in which has been observed that I am very much open to others, and I love to go for the new kind of experience, but the nearest side is that I become very much congested or complex due to the work pressure. It becomes very much tough for me to maintain the temperament order calmness during workload. Though it has been proven that I am very much efficient in my work and also I am having this sufficient mental stability regarding the work which I am doing. The need is the outcome of the taste is that though I am very much friendly, I am not so Cooperative all compassionate to others (Monaghan, Goodman & Robinson, 2012).
The questionnaires by the Myer Briggs I have to understand the subjective preference of the human being and also work and what kind of things are perceived by the people around the world. After conducting an assessment test, I have observed that I am a quick learner because of being an extrovert.
On the other hand, my intuition for functional during any situation but the intention is not dependent upon the sensors which we say Sixth Sense, but it ultimately depends upon the information which I’m getting. Many people used to think aloud, but I used to feel regarding my decision because the decision should be emotionally and socially useful among the employees of the company so that the decision on the strategy should we fill up with the emotion which can be easier for the employees to understand (Hynes, 2012).
The analysis has helped me to understand my characteristics in both professional and personal life. With the help of the analysis, I can understand that I am not good at judging others or it becomes very much tough for me to reply others according to the conversation. The biggest problem I used to face that is the aggressive nature of mine which is one of the drawbacks of interpersonal communication. This will never create any effective communication with the others. Any other it is not only about my aggression, but also I am having some behaviour problems which can be understandable by my posture and my attitude. This is creating a negative impression about me and also among the team and the supervisors (Danziger, 2013).
It has been three to four months that I was one of the team members of the following project the Organisation. I was facing tremendous pressure during the project, and I was getting very was aggressive on others. It was happening because I was provided with wrong inputs and false information by the team members. This is the situations which create a conflict in the organisation and also bills dissatisfaction among the others (Walther, 2011).
Due to the weak presentation skills and communication skills, this kind of situation used to take place not even in my organisation but in also other organisation. It was another day when I first I use problem than the previous one because my supervisor sends me on a business meeting. It was a very fast business meaning I was going, and I have faced a lot of problems to understand the postal order strategy all the other person who were communicating with me (Hewes, 2013).
By the help of the reflection, I have observed that the problem which I am facing is all about lack of confidence and poor communication skill. Due to lack of trust, I am getting aggressive for working smoothly. Confidence lacking is one of the purest forms of body language because when I lack confidence, I am behaving like an odd one and for that reason, only my team members are getting disturbed, and other persons of the company is also getting disturbed by my attitude. On the other hand, I am facing problems such as I can’t predict oh I can’t guess what the other person is going to send this is leading to a miscommunication between the other team members of the company and me (Cahn, 2013).
Only effective communication skills will help to achieve the success in the organisation system. A real healthy communication processor power will not go to help the other person or me in their professional life but also help the person to build the good relationship in their personal life. The interpersonal communication skill should be strong and also be effective so the person who’s listening to the other person or me should be impressed or influenced by the communication skill (Shockley-Zalabak, 2011).
There is only two process for improving the communication skill one you have to be a good listener and the other you have to be a good speaker. When you are listening to the others, the speaker will think that there is someone to listen to the problem and on your side by listening you can think the problem and then you can smoothly solve the problem. During the time of speaking with other speakers should communicate with the person as far as the speaker review and speakers perspectives, the receiver should be easy and comfortable by the communication process what the speaker is saying. And this Madness will be less smooth relationship by the good communication process (Chan, 2011).
In my case, I have understood where I have to develop my interpersonal communication skill because my interpersonal communication skill is lacking and for that I am facing problems express myself or express my views in front of others (Berger, 2014). For developing and nonverbal communication skill, the person should develop tremendous knowledge regarding the emotion and the society. The person should study the human emotions and the sentiments because of this at the study which will give you the knowledge for non-verbal communication. I should block the skills to understand the emotion or to understand the pulse of the person who is communicating me. In the future, this will help me to understand our body language of a person and a perspective of the person by that it will be easier for me to communicate with the others (Jensen, 2010).
During the time of the communication, it’s better to understand the opinion of the others, so it will help to make the communication process much easier than the previous one. But above that all I should control my temper means and aggressiveness to make the opposite person comfortable for communicating with me. When a person is communicating the speaker should show empathy to the other person. Showing empathy is not only used in the business or an organisation where also it is used by the psychologist because it has been proven when you are polite and showing empathy to the person whom your communicating the person will easily mix up with the topic and can open up him or herself in front of the speaker. This is the process which makes a communication system very much friendly to everyone (Hargie, 2010).
Conclusion
In this project I have mentioned about the interpersonal communication skills, and also I have shared my experience with everyone. It is true that the problems faced by me are due to effective communication skills and it feels a lot of difficulties to maintain a good professional relationship. The ineffective communication skill is equal to poor communication skill, and it will destroy all of the professional life.
Ineffective communication skills not only hamper the professional life but also the personal life (West & Turner, 2010). Apart from this entire problem I need to improve my communication skill and also to improve our other work on my negative sides. I should mention my aggression and also control my temper meant by facing mode challenges and taking much work pressure in my organisation. This matter will help me do you improve my negative sides and also it will help to develop my communication and interpersonal communication skill in and around my life (De Choudhury et al. 2010).
The only way of achieving success is to develop my interpersonal communication skill it will not only make me achieve success by also help me to maintain good personal relationships (Beaulieu et al. 2011). The best way to develop interpersonal communication skill by reading some effective communication books or content by renowned writers and also it will help me to maintain personal journals regarding my strategy and plans where I can express myself to everyone. On the other hand, I can go for some seminar and lectures I can understand the level of my communication and also can upgrade my communication skill. Regular communication with the supervisor is one of the effective strategies that can help anybody to develop their communication skills (Bodie, 2011). Therefore, for developing the communication skills, I must apply this strategy in my life.
