The research topic is “to address the impact of the employee engagement on the performance of the organization-A case of Bristol Laboratories Ltd. In the research, there are many personal factors that could affect the decision of researcher to select any research topic like the motivation of research issue and knowledge of research. Others factors are expertise field, and availability of information about the research concern, and cost and time in the particular research (Sekaran, and Bougie, 2016). I observed that when an individual is working on any project then it is mandatory for the researcher to deliver their best efforts for obtaining higher success. It is also analyzed that sometimes researchers have not delivered their best effort in the research due to lack of interest in the research issues. Hence, it is evaluated that the researcher could critically evaluate the research topic before taking any decision about research concern (Bryman, 2015). I also pointed out that if the researcher is quite interested in the research topic then it could be difficult for a researcher to operate their research and get a reliable outcome. It is also evaluated that once researcher selects interested topic then they would be capable to collect the quality research outcome (Ashkanasy, et al., 2016). I observed that the topic of research could influence the researcher to take a decision on the selection of research issue. I also learned that understanding about the research concern could also attract a researcher to select a particular research topic. Moreover, it is also evaluated that if the research scholar prefers to select a new research topic in which the researcher has not actual understanding as it would lead the researcher to spend time and cost. It will also mandate the research scholar to complete research work as it could negatively impact on the research outcome. In addition to this, the researcher should also consider expertise filed for selecting the research issue (Hancock and Algozzine, 2016). I observed that if any research scholar has the best understanding about art but he/she chosen the scientific concern. It will create confusion for the researcher to appropriately complete the research and get reliable and valid research outcome. It is also imperative for the researcher to keep in mind that when they take a decision about research concern they researcher should not consider the factors which are not associated with their field, leanings, and education. It will negatively influence the research outcome (Creswell, et al., 2017). In addition, it is also evaluated that expertise field could directly impact on the selection of the research issue. Appropriate selection of research topic could support to obtain higher competitive benefit by completing their research in an appropriate manner. I also learned that the availability of information about the data in the context of research concern. A researcher could also discover the information about the research concern before selecting research issue for conducting their research in future and obtain the reliable result (Neuman, 2016). In this, research scholar could also think about their capabilities and limitation for conducting their research matter. In addition, it is also evaluated that if a researcher could not be capable to have data with respect to research issue as it would be complex for the research scholar to attain the aim and objectives of research and get reliable research. I also analyzed that if research scholar has also influenced by the research skills at the time of selection of research topic (Hancock and Algozzine, 2016).
The main reason for selecting this research topic is that when I worked as a trainee in Bristol Laboratories Ltd. then I found that there are higher employee turnovers as it declines the profitability of the firm. Therefore, I decided to work on the impact of employee engagement on the performance of the organization.
I analyzed that formulation of research aim and objectives in an effective way could be essential to complete whole research and obtain a valid and reliable result. The research aim and objectives could be an imperative part of the research study because it would facilitate to determine the scope and overall direction of the research. It is also evaluated that research questions could be a central part of the research that permits the researcher to answer the research question by considering the findings of research (Liñán, and Fayolle, 2015). I also learned that the researcher follows research questions for the attainment of research questions. I analyzed that researcher could classify the research aim into different parts of research objectives as it would be imperative for discovering each part distinctly. Furthermore, it is also identified that the research aim demonstrates what actually needs to be discovered and objectives of research comprise the whole steps that discover the ways by which research aim will be accomplished.
Further, the main aim of this research study is to address the impact of employee engagement on the organizational performance with respect to the Bristol Laboratories Ltd. The following objectives will be accomplished to attain the aim of this research:
In addition, it is also analyzed that research aim is based on the research questions (Taylor, et al., 2015). I pointed that research aim could define as the what we desire to know about the research concern while the research objectives are particular steps that will be followed by the researcher to meet the research aim systematically. I also observed that the research aim could clearly demonstrate the research concern as it would be supportive for gaining the understanding of reader and others about research concern in precise form (Mackey and Gass, 2015).
According to Vaioleti (2016) involvement of employee is important for the success of the organizational performance. From the statistical data, it is found that more than 50% of employees were not engaged in their allocated work caused of lack of interest in their work. It could enhance the possibility of employee turnover, which will negatively impact on the financial performance of the organization.
In this section, the researcher will discuss the meaning and concept of the employee engagement. It will also demonstrate the factors the will affect the employee engagement in the organization. In last, it recommends strategies as it will be effective to overcome the challenges of employee engagement.
Lewis (2015) examined that employee engagement is a chance for the workforces to link with their peers, executives, and the company.
The literature review section could be imperative for gaining the understanding about current research concern. The literature review is used to create conceptual understanding about research matter and critically analysis specified research topic, which could help to identify the gap of research (Lewis, 2015). I analyzed that there are three factors that could be considered in the exploratory literature review like research topic, research question, and research methods. In addition, it is also observed that literature review supports to use of the data and obtain reliable data in the context of the research concern. Moreover, it is also analyzed that literature review could also support to observe the team by answering the research question (Vaioleti, 2016). The literature review section also supports to evaluate research activities by considering techniques that are associated with research concern. It also evaluates the whole steps of research could lead to frame exploratory review. I understood that the exploratory literature review enables the research scholar to focus on certain factors like identification of research topic, search appropriate information about research concern, make layout and summary, and more questions. In this, the researcher will observe methods that will be used in the research to attain the aim of research. A researcher could consider the satisfaction attainment and coding to analyze the research concern. For exploratory literature review of my specified research topic, I used appropriate models as it would support to obtain higher benefit (Smith, 2015). It is also observed that selection of appropriate theories could help to make reliable conceptual framework about research concern as it would also aid to meet research concern. In this, a researcher could consider many theories like language action speech act, lean, production theory, information theory, and grounding, which would facilitate to make effective research and get reliable outcome (McCusker and Gunaydin, 2015). I observed that it is complicated for the researcher to determine which language will be used in the group, measurement of performance, meeting, value-add, and activities. It will be effective for making exploratory research. In addition, the effective literature review could consider many sources to collect the information about research concern like an academic journal, books, magazines, company websites, online and offline sources. I analyzed that, through such sources, it could be possible for the researcher to collect reliable benefits in the least time and cost (Wildemuth, 2016).
I analyzed that research skills could be imperative for the attainment of the research activities and get a reliable and effective outcome. From getting feedback to my superior and friends, I realized that I have many weakness or lack of research skills that could directly impact on the whole research outcome. Hence, I used the SWOT analysis and evaluate my personality to complete research and obtain a feasible outcome.
A self- assessment of your research skills could be imperative for evaluating the personal traits (Lushey and Munro, 2015). I analyzed that the SWOT analysis could be effective for analyzing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threat of an individual as it would be effective for improving my weaknesses and obtain a favorable outcome. It is a tool that supports to understand the weaknesses and strengths as it would determine threat and opportunity for researchers. I observed that this technique also enable the researcher to manage the different situation and obtain higher success. In addition, it is also found that the self-assessment could support to evaluate the positive and negative qualities of the individual as it would help to examine the weakness of research (Marczyk, et al., 2017). In addition, it is also explained that the strengths and weakness could be examined by the self-evaluation technique. The SWOT analysis is discussed as below:
Strengths and weaknesses are internal to a person, whereas Opportunities and threats are the external factors.
Strengths · Decision making rapid · Active Listener |
Weaknesses · Complexity in the thought articulation · Too-depth oriented |
Opportunities · The rapid decision could be effective for benefits for making positive position among competitors. |
Threats · The detailed description could create complexity to communicate with others. It creates threaten to make a positive image among consumers. |
The personal and professional development plan could support to improve the though articulation and emotional intelligence. It would support to make effective relation with team members as it would support the research scholar to complete their research in an appropriate manner (Wiek and Lang, 2016). I also analyzed that action plan could play an imperative role in operating research function to complete specified aim and objectives. It is also analyzed that personal and professional plan would also support to obtain positive benefits in the context of research skills. I used many techniques to improve my research skills in the least time cost.
Action Plan for improving my Emotional Intelligence and Thought Articulation
I also analyzed that effective action plan could support to improve the thought process and emotional intelligence in the least time constraints. I decided six months of time frame to enhance my emotional intelligence procedure (af Wåhlberg, 2017).
