It is a basic and straightforward model which assesses what an entity can do and what it cannot do, as well as the potential opportunities and threats associated with it. The method involves taking relevant information from environment analysis and separates them into internal and external issues. The internal issues are strengths and weaknesses and the external issues are opportunities and threats. Once completed, the analysis determines what is required for the accomplishments of the objectives and the obstacles that must be overcome (Byars and Rue, 2011).
