Introduction Introduction to your project team and your role within it.
There are four members in the team- Juan Morales, Kongsambath Pen, Sanjana Mathews and Asad Ali. My role in the team is to coordinate with other members and follow the instructions from team lead in order to complete the project successfully. Our project is concerned about affects of technology in the Australian health system. /2
Project management concepts Comment on the project significance, aims and objectives and what you have learnt from this experience.
The objective of the project is to develop a wearable system that will detect and monitor the health condition of the patients. The innovation of this kind of system aims to enhance the performance of monitoring and providing the health care service to the patients more easier as the information recorded in the system will help the doctors and other health care specialists to evaluate the medical condition of the patients.
The experience gained from the development of the project gives a clear view about the working of the health care system. Clear understanding of the health care system helps to understand the areas of improvements in the process and that experience has helped to enhance the quality of our project. The learning about the stages for the project development has been experienced in this course. The knowledge consulted from the PMBOK along with handling and facing real life challenges has made the team members more confident enough to work on new and challenging projects. /4
Identify and explain one or two key problem[s]/risk[s] encountered and describe your response and why that approach was chosen.
The main problem for the team was that requirements for the system was not clear at the initial stage. However, the problem has been dissolved after the internal meetings between the team members and the meeting with the external stakeholders related to the project. Another risk associated with the project was the time and the estimated budget. The team has tried not to exceed the granted budget for the project. In order to do that the steps included in the project were followed in a strict manner and the development of the project was stick to the predefined requirements. No additional requirements during the development was entertained. In order to finish the project in time, the team members did a meeting everyday where the follow-ups of the different modules of the project were taken. In case, if it was seen that some module of the project is lagging behind the time, the other team members tried to backup the task so that it can be done within the timeline.
The environment of the co-operation among the team members has played a significant role in the accurate development off the project. The team leader has played the right part and the distribution of work among the team members was specific. The team members did their work well individually and the supported the other members in case if any problem happened (Papke-Shields, and Boyer-Wright 2017). The sense of responsibility among the members of the team and the good communication in the team helps to understand the requirements of the project clearly.
It can be assumed from the positive situation that have been experienced during the development of the project is that in future, the right selection of the team members with efficient knowledge of the project domain and the good communication and co-operation between the team members will help in the development of any project. /4
There were many key team dynamics presented in the team during the development of the project. One of the positive key attribute of the team was the cooperation among the team members. In case, if one team member was facing a problem with the decision making in doing his or her part of the work, the other team members helped that team member to solve the problem (Zangrando 2015). This system helped a lot to find the best solution among many other possible solutions and leaved a good impact o the progress of the project.
One of the negative attribute that affected the team during the development of the project were certain misunderstandings among the team members regarding the way of working. However, this problem was solved after two and three meetings among the team members.
The lesson that we have learned after working in a team is that in order to develop a successful project the communication and understanding between the team members is important. However, there may arise certain negativity during the development of the project and those issues should be solved mutually between the members of the team.
1.Worked well
2.Did not work so well.
Explain your choice using one illustration for each from your weekly progress reports to support your choice.
During the development of the project some of the things went according to the plan while some of the facts put negative impact on the progress of the project. The clear understanding of the requirements and the determination of the team members to complete the project within the time has helped to complete the project within time and meeting all the requirements accurately. Another positive factor that has worked well for the project is the good domain knowledge of all the team members. The members of the team has clear knowledge about the technologies those are included in the project which helps the planning of the implementation to be more accurate.
There are certain internal factors that had its negative impact on the progress of the project. One of such factors is the misunderstanding between the team members during the development of the project. However, that problem was solved after conducting a meeting between the team members. /2

Apart from that management of the knowledge also helps to get the idea about the technology and the environment is going to be used for developing the project. Apart from that it also helps in sharing the knowledge.
The importance managing the strategic front end is that it evaluates the requirements and the opportunities , which can indicate weather the project can be done on the basis of those requirements. On the other hand the significance of the transitional backend is that it evaluates the outcome of the project. It delivers the transition period between the starting and ending of the project and indicates the value of the project after it is delivered. /3
For the first issue, identify at least one academic theory to deepen your insights into the issue

The first issue discussed in as in the project management issue is managing the knowledge in IT enable business project. This issue in the project management has a theory which is referred as the knowledge sharing. The sharing of the knowledge is important as the project that is going to be developed is new and the projects team members are not known to each other. In this case the project manager should gather relevant knowledge together in the right time to get the right product. In this case, the working of the knowledge gathering and the way of flowing the knowledge in the project management development is important. In this theory knowledge has three divisions or parts. First part is stocking of the knowledge which includes “ what is known” and “ whom it is known”. The second part is the enabling condition. The enabling condition includes the knowledge about the technology being used in the developing the project .This part of the knowledge management also deals with the infrastructure needed for the development of the project. Such infrastructure can be of various kinds such as the system for the telecommunications or the accessing of the sharepoints. The second aspect of this part is the trust. The people in the team should trust each other so that they can share their knowledge with each other and in case they can teach each other about some particular things. Third part of the knowledge management is the knowledge practice. Knowledge practice indicate sthe steps taken by the project manager on the basis of the results and the information gained from the previous two parts of the knowledge management. The project manager can utilize those information through conducting meetings, brainstorming sessions or generating the plans and the strategic reports.
The management of the knowledge is justified as it helps to make the sharing of the relevant knowledge I the project development process. The management of the knowledge enables to gather the important information for the development of the project also it synchronized the thinking and the way of processing of the information of all team members of the project. The project manager can get the relevant ideas from the practice of the knowledge management that enhances the quality of the knowledge. /3
The proper knowledge management has its significance in the development of the project. The knowledge management helps to gather all the relevant knowledge in the project domain. This gathering of the knowledge helps in developing the rich project documentation, better risk management plan and making the right work breakdown structure. The sharing of the knowledge puts the importance of document alignment. The alignment of the document indicates that the business documents and the technical documents will be synchronized. This means, the business document will inform the progresses and the changes to the technical document and the technical document will cooperate with the business documents. The proper alignment of the documentation process will deliver better business values. Apart from that alignment of the understanding of the people is required. It is also refereed as shared understanding. In order to do this, the business executives needs to understand the contribution of the changing of the business in order to deliver the business values. The learning from this issue helps to understand the importance of the requirement gathering of the project and understanding the level of knowledge of the each team members. In order t o understand the requirement the meetings with the clients and stakeholders are needed to be done. The clarity in the requirement gathering will help to mitigate the chances of happening of the scop creep. The good communication between team members will help to ease the communication between the members , this will generate the flow of the knowledge which will help in the sharing of the knowledge. In the future while developing the project, we will give more importance to the requirement gatherings and the selection of the team members will be done wisely, so that we can communicate with each other easily. Apart from that before starting the project we will understand the specific requirements for the infrastructure for the project. /2

The second issue about the project management described in this discussion is the managing the strategic front end and transitional backend of a project. The strategic front end and the transitional back end of the project are the part of the project life cycle. The importance of these two terms in the project management phase are under researched. However, these two terms plays an important part in the development of the successful project. The strategic front end of the project denotes the initial stage of the requirement gatherings. This tem denotes weather the project can be carried out or not. The strategic front end works on the perspective project which means that the project is not approved to be developed. The strategic front end suggests the opportunities and the potentials of the project which is important for the success of the project.
The transitional back end starts after the compilation of the project. This term denotes the value the project generates after the compilation of the project. The important question in this stage is about the transition between the starting of the project and the commencement. /3
The strategic front end represents the project as the perspective project. The perspective project allows to evaluate the opportunities of the future projects. This helps to gain an insight view and the assumption about the success of the project. This phase is concerned about the requirement gatherings and evaluating the opportunities. The requirement gathering can be done through the management of the knowledge which has been discussed as the another project management issue. The strategic front end of the project can indicate whether the requirement and the opportunities can develop the project which will deliver its values in a right way.
The transitional back end denotes the value which is delivered by the project after the compilation of the project. The value of the project depends on if the outcome of the project is meeting all the requirements of the project.
There is a connection between the good strategic front end of the project and the transitional backend of the project. The strategic front end of the project deals with the opportunities and the requirement so the project. The accurate gathering of the information will help to make the blueprint of the project planning in a right way. The commencement of the project in a proper will deliver a service whose outcome will meet all the requirements expected from the project. This meeting of the expectation will serve the right value of the project. /4
Identify your new learning and explain how this insight will influence you in the future.
The improper communication can restraint the progress of the project. It can also leads to the happening of the scope creep in the project management. There are various ways to eliminate effects of the improper communication. Some of these approaches are daily meeting about the progress of the work between the team members and the follow up with the clients through maintaining a routine. , the lack of proper communication between the team members can restraint the progress of the project. In this case, the progress of the different modules of the project is not discussed among the team members, for this reason the synchronization between the works of the different modules can get hampered. . Some of the collaboration software can be used in this case. /2
