Rocky Sports Club Information System (RSCIS) – Analysis And Planning Report

The information system is the collection of technical elements and human resources. The Rocky Sports Club wants to implement an information system. The organization believes that IS can store and process their operational data.

The organization is currently having issues with monitoring the activities of the members such as how much and which articles they have submitted. The organization is having problem with tracking which member will edit next newsletter.

Waterfall Methodology: The waterfall model is the conventional way of exciting a software project. The waterfall model is executed stage by stage. The method states that a stage can be imitated only if the previous stage is completed.

Agile Methodology: The agile methodology is considered as the iterative approach for software development. The methodology concentrates on developing the software in various iterations, based on requirements of the system. The agile methodology allows the project manager to include requirements in any stage of the project.

Comparison: The Rocky Sports Club needs a SDLC method that can support its simple and short project. The differences between the waterfall and agile methodology are as following.

1. The waterfall model is suitable for small and simple project. The agile is best suited for complex and big projects. If the number of requirements and subsystems of the project, then agile methodology is suggested over waterfall and vice versa.
2. The waterfall model does not support addition of requirements after requirement and analysis phase. The agile model supports the new requirements at any time of the project.

Conclusion:

The report includes the description of the project for implementing information system in Rocky Sports Club. Selection of the waterfall method for the project implementation is perfect. The system can be extremely beneficial for the organization. The automation of the back processes can improve the operation of the organization.
